I recently found this band, and I am just blown away. I'm telling everyone, this band is special and they will continue to do special things. I look at people who experienced classic and legacy bands from the beginning, and The Last Dinner Party reminds me of those stories. This is like discovering Led Zeppelin in 1969 or Van Halen in 1978 or Guns-N-Roses in 1987; it's fresh and exciting! Additionally, these artists can sing, play, and write! Each song on their album is magnificent. They have so much talent. And they are so honest--I can feel their music and their lyrics. I cannot stop listening to their album. I haven't done that since I was a teenager. I wish these 5 talents so much success!
This is a wonderful show to listen to for me, I was mentored by Susan Wayback at American University on a show called kaleidoscope. I went on to host my own shows on Aspen Public radio. What I learned from Susan has continued with me and a helpful way throughout my life. I am now 82. I now listen to Layla every morning.
It's really nice to see how Kaki King has boldly evolved over the years. (By introverted standards). xD She looks *_so_* much more confident now (I'd kill to be able to pull off her hairdo); and I never expected to love the projection idea even half as much as I did (honestly I had my doubts) but seriously, that is still an enormous understatement. Regarding the *_wolf gazing at the ocean_* in particular; *_mesmerising_* how such simple imagery paired with her music resonated with me so deeply. I can't really even call myself a top fan, and for (breakdown) reasons, I've barely even listened to music at all for the last 6 years. During that entire time I had completely forgotten about Kaki (sorry, Kaki) and as a result lost an opportunity I never knew I'd never have again to introduce her to my sister. I never learned that she actually liked my taste in music until fairly recently, you see. I think she would've loved Kaki. I really do. I haven't cried about this in months. I thought I had gotten over it by now. Apparently not. I'm just happy Kaki King and musicians like her are still around for me to re-live my life and remind myself that, I'm still alive. It'd be perfect if there's access to RU-vid up there. :)
I saw her world premiere of BUGS in La Jolla today... she was so awesome with the kids and everything ❤️❤️❤️ Love how connected she is to the world, nature, everything. Awesome skills, awesome music, awesome person.
