ME 262 was a Boom and Zoom fighter. Flying in a high speed, hit the target then zoom away. In reality, if those were flown how they were really used then the bombers would have gotten gone in way worse as the Mustangs would have not even caught a single ME 262. The 262s also had the element of surprise so each one could have lined up a single bomber each and taken down half of the bomber group easily.
