Hey folks, it's been a busy summer. Lots of clouds, and outreach events here in the Clovis, NM area. However, the last two events have been canceled due to weather. Hopefully, this month, the weather will allow us to see the Perseids and our event at NH PaRK. I'm also hoping to try out some new software developed for the Seestar, but outside of ZWO developed by folks that are part of the Smart Telescope Underworld FB Group. It offers some great features such as a Simple Seestar Controller Web Interface. The Alp Software allows me to run the Seestar using Stellarium, and between the two features, I may be able to do mosaic imaging with the Seestar. While not as simple as stock Seestar and app, it allows some rather observatory like functionality.
@johnpettit6886 Well, we are in a solar maximum part of that 11-year cycle. It should be reaching its peak either late this year or early next year and will then be in a solar minimum for the next 11 years.
Sorry but after doing Astro photography with a Celestron 11 inch HD scope, the Seestar images aren't that impressive. I was hoping smart telescopes had progressed a bit more than they have.
Please remember what these smart telescopes are for: it is for the beginner or for folks who don't have time to set up a mount all the time. For me personally, I don't have the time to set up hours at a time for my eq mount and scope. The seestar gives me more time to image and learn about astrophotography processing. To each is own. I also can't lug around huge mounts and telescopes due to a bad back. Sure, there are limitations to this specific smart telescope, but have you seen what the Vespera Smart Telescopes can do? Also, please don't misjudge the Seestar based on what you see here. The Seestar FB groups are full of some rather spectacular images. I'm still learning Pixinsight, but I won't put the Seestar in an eq configuration. I also have not done any mosaic type of imaging with the Seestar like others have.
Hey bro would you recommend that seestar s50 because I'm gonna buy it for sure and watched a lot of videos about it, we'll i want to ask you if I'm gonna have fun with that telescope for a long time ?
I've had it this Seestar since mid Nov. I'd say it's been a great instrument for the money. The biggest issue I've ran into is the updates to it changing some features that were great the way they were. I've imaged between 30 and 40 objects. As with any telescope imaging rig, the darkerbthe skies the better the outcome. So yes you will find the Seestar enjoyable.
@@gigamemes2435 Oh yes!!! But what do you mean, enjoy the moment exactly? I can either be with the Seestar outside in my back yard or at a dark site inside my car and and watch the phone. I also listen to music via Pandora so I listen to my favorite music. Also, using your phone video capture, you can capture both the imaging with the music as well.
I am impressed by the innumerable amount of functions this software has, I thank you so much for this video!!!!!!, moreover it will certainly be my guide for this difficult but wonderful software; but most of all thank you for showing how to use it; it is one of the very few online guides that show processing from start to finish, thank you!!!
Thank you so much Fabriol!!! There is so much that Pixinsight can do and and other folks do have vids on this topic. This was my first really in depth video and its a lot of work. So if I find a better process than what I show here, I"ll be sure to let you know. Thanks for responding. This vid was primarily for you.
Nicely presented. I bought a Seestar and brought a curse of cloudy skies over my town ever since. Well, not every night. I have been able to capture some of the deep space objects that you show here.
Wonderful!!! During this past long weekend. We had clear skies, but spent my time with a new pc build. I love this Seestar. I'm amazed at what can be accomplished.
Thank you, my friend! While I decided to not only take advantage of the moon as it really wipes out any other target, I also wanted to show my granddaughter more images of the moon. She is just two years old, and so happy when she sees the moon. So what's a grand Dad to do?
I did all the above and I apologize for not responding sooner. I typically do a rotation to match what Spaceweather.com shows. I process first by using AS, then IMPPG, then use PS with Luminar and raw filter plugins.
Iwent to Woodway, Tx, just outside of Waco to visit my cousins. They invited me to come out for the eclipse. It was a wonderful visit and the eclipse was a sort of icing on the cake.
The star spikes were a touch in my post processing. There are taken using the Seestar as I stated. There is a plugin I use in Photoshop to create the star spikes affect. This is done after I process using Pixinsight. As I live in Eastern NM, you are welcome to come here and I can show you exactly how I do it.
Nice! Still lots of clouds here, unfortunately. In a few days it'll clear up. I hope to be able to capture some Messier targets. It will have to be a mini marathon, though. :)
Thank you very much! If you locate my face book page (use the same name) and via messenger, message me, I'll send you Betelguese and Sirius. ,,,, I did a single exposure on each of these, so they are not great. I had considerable flaring. I don't know when I'll be able to capture these stars again as currently when it is dark, M42 is behich a huge tree in a neighbors yard.
@@gwzapo For sure man! subbed on here love the content too I had no idea the seestar existed until yesterday! I've really wanted to delve into astronomy for years and the seestar looks phenomenal for the price. Definitely a future purchase
@erewhon42 I tried yesterday (android) and got repeated issues to install firmware update even though I had done so...or so I thought. I finally uninstalled the updated app and reverted back to prev. Version on Google Play. I installed the updated app from ZWO. I'll wait before I mess with it again. I'm confident ZWzo will sort this out.
Only if you want to. I'm 62, and rather than bend down to the ground, I bought a 3pod tripod from adorama. Plus I saw a tripod leveler, someone installed for the seestar, and it works amazingly!!! So now, the seestar is higher and easier to level.
Try getting your tripod leveled as possible. I purchased a 3pod tripodcand a leveler wthatallows more precise leveling. Also, I don't mess with the exposure settings in spite of the recent updates.
How often are you getting these errors. I usually get errors say one out of 10 frames or more. It isn't a huge problem. It is common on any rig to have frames rejected.
Excellent images, taken in which region? I use mine in Montreal. For now I have city lights and too much cloudy nights. This summer, I'm going to take it where the sky is darker.
Hey folks, please check out Mark Brooks video of the event at the Clovis-Carver Public Library: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bMUe5L0i0F8.html
