Many are pessimistic. But what many forgot to look into consideration the advantages of it. The line has one edge, and that is streamlining. Just imagine the construction materials from plumbing, sewerage, power, high speed transportation, communication, traffic control. Plus the streamline of constructing and the kilometer by kilometer approach at a time make it feasible. The city is actually self enclosed controlled environment which is very hard to achieve in traditional city design. You can dump all high technology on it at ease. Aside from that, maintaining peace and order is relatively easy because of modular design. Directing people especially foreigner is no hassle because it is just addressed by kilometer, say km 50 and so on. Many people just hard to accept that once when people happen to live there, they cannot see line anymore. It seems they are enclosed in a new world.

The last dude that claims that nuclear reactors cost much more than "renewables" can offer any numbers? I mean, the plant itself, sure: it would cost more than some solar panels, but would the cost per kWh produced also be less? I sincerely doubt less.
