It’s trash, i keep missing my class because of it. If you arrive at 10am you will not find parking. And there are hundreds of other commuters scouring the lots for a space as well. I transferred from OCCC where half of the college is literally a giant circular parking lot and there is always plenty of spaces, AND ITS FREE. OU is a joke.
Six years later parking is even worse. My first class is at 10:30. If I don't get here by 8:15ish I have a hell of a time finding parking. I was once late despite getting there over an hour early. The first day of classes they thought it was a good idea to shut down one of the commuter parking garages.
I am filling out the housing application too, did you figure out what is the best option ? Is it a suitable option to stay on campus or off campus for an international student ( PhD studies ) ?
@@guezeiabdelali8547 honestly I think I'll stay on campus anyway. Makes things much easier and as long as it's got a bed, four corners and a roof. As for the part about international students, I'd say the same, live on campus since it'll make everything easier
OU isn't supposed to be a commuter school. People who pay $350 a month in rent for a house east of headington hall shouldn't be complaining about having to pay $260 a year for parking. If you disagree with that then you might want to consider UCO they have plenty of free parking.
Hey man, great video! I also go to OU, and was wondering if you wanted to work on a collab vid? (This is super awkward considering that I have never met you IRL, but you seem to have a similar viewpoint) Anyways, I can tell your editing is on point, fantastic tear down of the rip off that is the residential colleges.
I really like your video, good job! However this video doesn't even mention that the residential colleges were privately funded (like 90% sure on that) and have no reason to be priced so much higher than the dorms.
Nope. Approximately $10 million was in donated money from Headington and Dunham, another $10 million was paid by OU H&F upfront, and the other $80 million is paid for by H&F revenue bonds. Source: newsok.com/university-of-oklahoma-opens-residence-halls-for-upperclassmen/article/5562726
Hey man...I just got into OU a couple of weeks ago, and I'm seriously considering going there. Any general advice that you can share in terms of stuff like getting around campus, et cetera?
Currently living in Residential Colleges. Could be better, could be worse, price is the worst part by far. The "community" doesn't really exist, honestly and no one eats there. My number one wish is that I could cook here.
The red and green lights are working now in the Jenkin garage. it's actually pretty cool, but the whole parking situation at OU is still horrible. Horrible.
Love this, and I'm glad you mentioned the ratio of pass sales to the number of spots available. That's something that's bothered me, among many other parking issues.
