No over dramatic shootout, even big man guarding the door just walked away peacefully with SWAT. Even the way they were dressed, Avon in cool casual wear and Stringer in the short sleeve shirt and dress slacks and hard bottom shoes. The Wire will always be my favorite show of all time.
1st arrest McNulty was upset cus he knew they didn't have nothing major on the organization but when that 2nd arrest came around he was about to nut on himself arresting Avon cus Stringer snitched. I think McNulty wanted Stringer more than Avon tho.

A good chunk of the urban population does not care for the SWAT Police. They bring a militarized presence to a civilian situation. They seem more used to a state police problem than a local city problem. In short, they look like Toy Soldiers.
All this basically stemmed from two things: Talking business in the club, and putting DeAngelo in the 'carry' car and not the 'cover' car. Kind of like the part where he's telling DeAngelo about his uncle and how you can't avoid making mistakes when they saw him in the public 'hospital'. Amazing how Fate matched up with Avon Barksdale's words.
The shock on Stringer face Avon with the hey they just came for me nod then the hurt on McNulty face that Stringer outsmarted him by having Wallace killed because Wallace was gone testify in court on him about Omar's boyfriend getting killed. Classic
