Main points: parents need to understand that if the child needs directed speech or functional speech Directed speech: teaching them how to pronounce a letter/word with physical prompt,etc. Functional speech: if the child is already speaking but not interacting/communicating well, then the therapy should be directed to improve their functional communication like how to communicate needs,wants,feelings and interact with others,etc. parents and therapists work as per the need of the child

Hi maam, can adhd be diagnosed below 2 yrs..my toddler is 20 months old . 1)she cant sit for more than 1 minute if any task given wont complete it and i need to force her till completion. 2) gets deviated easily if any task is given. 3) when any task is given to her she creates new game out of it and she plays . Apart from above she grasps quickly when taught her anything and understands what we say. Please maam i am very much worried and can you help here Coming to words she spell.. She spells few words perfeectly like amma ,thata ,nanna ,babai ,apple But few words only first letter of the word like kah for car ,baa for ball

@@Happykidz2021 thankyou ma'am for timely reply. 1) She plays physical games like ringa ringa roses with other kids and pulls other kids into play , hide and seek games ,or when I ask to find a particular toy and place it in a particular place she completes that task .in brief she plays all running or physical related tasks well. 2) She is also interested in book reading, rhymes. 3) She tries to imitate our actions and is curious to know what we are doing like kitchen hold activities ,pulling drawers and taking away all things out of it. 4) She like drawing related things as well.She is trying to speak in her language some times we can understand ,but sometimes she speaks something which we cannot understand. 5) But when we ask to stack blocks ,sitting related activities (like shape sorter) she won't be interested , just throws away blocks. She can't sit still for more than a minute. In brief if she is interested she will spend 2 min max ,if she is not interested she will throw away all things. She runs here and there in house a lot ma'am sometimes she runs , pulls drawers and explores ,sometimes.she runs without purpose .. I am not getting any clue whether this is normal behaviour or adhd as sitting tolerance is very very minimal in her.
