The musicians who recorded Sinead O'Connor's version mentioned that they didn't rearrange it. The arrangement Prince sent was what they recorded, including the synth ,strings and unique drum beat. However, they had to change the key.
Saw this in school, in the early 90's. Been trying to figure out what is was called. I only remembered this scene, and sometimes I get this song stuck in my head.
Was at this show in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl. we got bonused to be able see and hear the angelic voice of “Special Guest,” Sinead O’Connor. all the voices soared. amazing talent; Sarah, Indigo Girls, Paula, Shawn, Jewel, Lisa, Joan, Tracey, Erykah, Paula, Suzanne! absolutely fantastic - epic performances.
Esteja em paz Sinéad. A saudade por você é muito grande. Mas continuarei a escutar o teu legado que é muito lindo. Agora a paz está em você. Que Deus te abençoe e ilumine. Adeus Sinéad. 🙏🕊
Talk about crass lack of research on O'Donnell's side - Sinead's mum dies in a car crash when Sinead was at 18, and loud-mouthed Rosie thinks it's a great idea to ask her what her parents said when Sinead tells her she shaved her head at . . . 18!!! Wtf and f*ck off while you're there! How did this tin-eared woman even get a talk show?
There is an easygoing flow to the interview which is refreshing given the turmoil, emotions and political fierceness which Sinead is often associated with.
This is a reminder that much as i love and miss Sinead very much, there are other wonderful singer/songwriters still with us whom we can cherish. Jewel is excellent and her life story thus far is mind blowing. I believe she has detailed her story in a book. I heard it in her Joe Rogan interview (actually the only Joe Rogan interview I have listened to in full and it's excellent)
Back then women artists became famous because of their incredible talent. Their talent carried them. It didn't mater what they looked like, only how beautiful their songs were and how well they sang them. Today, it's simply manufactured crap, oversexualized messed up Disney girls, many nepotist shallow brats, with no talent at all.
I have nothing but respect for this strong woman. There wasn't a fake bone in her body. A true activist for the children of this world. She risked everything-her career and even her life to try to save the children from horrific abuse. As far as I'm concerned she deserves sainthood!
Sinead was esoteric no matter what she never compromised her principles. You were not crazy just misunderstood. Too intelligent for the dumb masses to understand. Rest in peace to God you have returned. 🙏
Stop saying things like "we as Americans treated her horribly", etc. Speak for yourself. Some of us always loved, cherished and supported her. Still do. ♥
