room looks sick. Im planning on purchasing a gaming laptop to keep me sane once i finish BMT. You think i will have time to play or is Technical school crazy busy.
1D7 (Cyber) Cable and Antennae Defense Systems, i know they're are some here on Sheppard but I'm not sure what training squadron they are. depending on your aircraft (shred) then you may or not be assigned here
cheap casio watch that has alarm function, youll have your other buddies in the dorm that may wake up early also so they can wake everyone else up early before the morning announcements
Looking good man! I just finished watching the other video you made and was making a list then i saw this so i had to redo my list hahaha. Question, for the first actual day after processing, you’d already be wearing issued PT clothes and stuff so you wouldnt need comfy/workout clothes for a day or two right?
hahah, yea i was alittle late making the updated video. First 1-3 days youll be in civilian clothes, it depends on your Squadron youll be assigned to then youll be issued clothes. you wont be doing PT for the first few days since its all in-processing. but it depends on your squadron. For us we didnt start PT till the 2nd week
@@GGinoboiits mostly alot of yelling and processing haha from when you step off the bus and get issued your backpack and toiletries and civilian clothes for the first 2-3 days then you get all your uniforms. youll be issued your PT gear, socks, and standard uniforms and then no more civilian clothes after that
Yes, in the binder/folio i have it has all my important documents because through BMT and even tech school you will have to keep track of all your documents. birth certificates, college transcripts, orders, passports, ID's, etc. Bring a copy your banking information like the bank address and routing/accounting numbers and i also have a list of family member phone number and addresses available so you can send off letters or any other addresses or info you may need
3-5 spandex to keep you through the week cause PT is almost Everyday at BMT. I would bring both a manual and electronic but use your electronic one and keep it setup and aligned in your locker since the manual razor would require you to clean it often and when they do inspections they will give you a demerit for a dirty razor. use your electronic one as your inspection display
Black, Grey, or Blue are whats suggested but to just keep consistency just have them all black otherwise in training they will have you sort and organize it by color
@@ClawGamingCG Nice. I have black compression shorts but have red writing on the waist band. Do they care if there is writing on the waist band or have colors on the waist band?
Gotta love that Old Spice all-in-one: bodywash, facewash, shampoo, dish soap, engine degreaser, sink cleaner, toothpaste (if you're brave)! Taking into consideration how much weight you might lose in BMT, What are your thoughts on just buying new civies at your tech school BX/PX/NEX?
I don't think buying civies while you're in tech school would be worth it, you may lose or gain the weight back depending on how you really motivate and manage yourself with as much freedom you have within Tech school. And you're in tech school for only 2-4 months depending on your AFSC/School house so it wouldn't be worth it to buy new clothes, would just another thing to worry about and to pack once you graduate tech school and move onto your first assignment. I would just wear whatever you decide to bring to BMT and whatever else your parents or family may send you once you're in tech school. Then once you're settled at your first assignment i would decide around that time to redo a wardrobe or so.
I’ve heard of people having family bring clothes and stuff in a bag to basic grad. That way you can take it straight to tech school. What do you think of that?
you wont be able to, during graduation youre not allowed to bring stuff back to the dorm, your MTI's will tell you to bring it back outside to your parents.
Love your videos man! Hard to find interviews with older humans/young Airman! Coming from a 28y/o married male who's been waiting a year waiting for waiver to get approved for Air Force.
Thanks man, love to hear it helps. Yea i wanted to get more updated videos out there since whatever you search for like Airforce things are either outdated or not really current or relevant i wanted to see the different demographic and the thought process why maybe someone left a 9-5 or maybe they didnt have a choice. Love to hear that youre still pushing your application through, let your recruiter know if there is anything else you can do while waiting but i hope all is clear for you man!
the ones in this video are around 23+ and im 29. Thats why i made this small series to show that no matter the age we all had different reasons on why we joined. 23 is fine you have until 42 but i really wouldnt wait that long since ya know physical requirements might be more difficult at that age and if you decide to retire and do the full 20 years youll retire at 43 ya know. So, it was a great choice at the right time for me but it can be different for someone else. We're in tech school now learning heck of a lot of stuff we probably wouldnt get the chance to learn but it still a risk because we signed that dotted line and we have to give up some sacrifices to really do this.
congrats and glad the video helped! ill probably be making an updated video on it because some of the clothing we didnt really get to use because we ere issued the uniforms so early. Just wear what youre wearing to the airport and bring - 2 extra pants - 2 extra shirts - 2 sets of clothes to sleep in - and hygiene items and documents you will be issued shampoo, body scrubber. I realistically barely used any of the items on the packing list since you get issued your uniforms within that same week. You can also start laundry as soon as you get there so you can wear the same clothes a few times until you get your uniforms because after that they will lock away all your civilian stuff and itll just be your issued uniforms
perfect, bring some blank letters, envelopes and some stamps. so you can start sending out stuff once you get your address in the squadron. Ill be rooting for ya man! 7.5 weeks flys by!
Oh shit!!! I like the consistency brother!! Keep it up! Quick question though: I have my degree, but I was basically told by the officer recruiters that my chances of commissioning into the AF is pretty low. I'm planning on enlisting, but my parents are kind of against it, telling me to just get my graduate and try OTS again. I know it's easy for some people to say "fuck it, just enlist" but there's still 15% of me that is telling me to listen to my parents and stay home. I know I need to get out of my comfort zone and be my own person and I know that by enlisting I can do just that. I was wondering what made you take that last leap into enlisting and leave everything behind to better yourself for your future?
So alot of the officers that ive been meeting here in Tech School all enlisted then went to OTS because they didnt want to wait and like "waste" time. Atleast with enlisting youll have a basic understanding of military structure and experience. And as your enlisted career grows before OTS applications youll already have ribbons, certificates, and a better network with chain of command within your enlisted structure that can help with your OTS application with recommendations. Thats currently my route, im enlisted, then will comission before my re-enlistment into my next term. Ill know my AFSC/Job and ill know my chain of command here at Tech School to get close to, to get reccommendations and beef up my personal profile. Start now than waiting. Youre old enough to make your decisions, its your future ya know. Youre the one signing the dotted line.
You can also start laundry as soon as you get there so you can wear the same clothes a few times until you get your uniforms because after that they will lock away all your civilian stuff and itll just be your issued uniforms
thanks man! yea i think before i went i was about 160 at my limit to enter then once i graduated i probably lost 25ish lbs, i slimmed down, toned up, felt good, and my runs got better too. Worth the struggle and hardwork. now that im in tech school we have alot of freedom so im trying to keep that same figure and motivation but its definitely difficult haha
start to workout and get that cardio going the PT tests are id say in a sense easy if you have been an athlete for awhile but time your push ups and sit ups, see how many you can do within a min and then just keep working on your 1.5 mile runs, the rest of BMT will be easy
How long did it take for you to get shipped to basic after you were done wth your MEPS? Did you ship then snd there afterwards or did you have yo wait for a phone call after MEPS?
my whole MEPs process took about 2-3 months but i could have finished it earlier if i wasnt working full time so i had to work around that schedule. I could have been done in like 2 weeks aslong as you dont have to clear any waivers or issues. Once youve completed MEPs itll be a few days until they "select your job" that you qualify for and your recruiter will let you know what job you can get and when they will ship out. Your recruiter will call or text you a few days after MEPs on the job you slotted in for and when youll be leaving for BMT. Mine - November finished MEPS - 1st week of Dec i received the job i wanted - Jan 9th was the earliest i can ship out to BMT, it could have been earlier but i wanted to stay for the holidays (christmas/new years)
Hey brother!hows it going?tanong ako bro regarding sa allergies like pain reliever medicine is't that big deal pra ma disqualify ka?appreciate bro.joining soon
Hindi disqualification, you may ask for allergy medicine in training, you will just be prescribed it directly from the medical team, you cannot bring your own. I had allergies because of the california weather, when i got to BMT for training i didnt have any issues with my allergies.
I’m 26, about to join the Navy to be a pilot. MEPS is what I’m most nervous about… I’m hopefully going to be reaching out to a recruiter this month. Need to study a bit more.
Congrats man on taking that leap, I’m the same exact age and considering joining, watching videos like yours are a valuable resource to someone like me and others in similar situations
love to hear that man, ive always said its never to late and youll find out too if its not for you, they give you opportunities to explore the airforce and they wont have an issue if you decided to back out. We had a few people during BMT change their mind during training that it wasnt for them and they were able to go home. Wont hurt to try and so far im enjoying it. Ill have updated videos of my BMT experience and some of my friends too.
I know you’re currently at Lackland so you’ll probably see this when you get back but thank you so much with your videos they’re very helpful and have really helped me calm my nerves. Im going through the enlistment process, I’m taking a PiCat with my recruiter tomorrow idk when I’m going to Meps but I think I’ll be leaving for basic in August, anyway thanks for your videos, I’m sure we all appreciate it.
Happy it helped! and wishing you the best on your journey, i just graduated BMT and off to my tech school! ill definitely be making an updated video for My BMT experience and uodated what to pack etc hehe.
Hey Nice video, i live in MD and i am in the process of purchasing my first firearm (Sig Saure M18X). What range is this would love to check it out. Thanks❤
I love this for you, I am looking into going into the Navy I am mentally exhausted working in the medical field with General MDs I’m gonna be 29 in 2 months and I just relate to this ! Happy for your new journey!!
They absolutely will see it. Be honest about it. I was told it’s a 2 year period they look for of no issues and they want a doctors note, all brain scans and tests. Get a discharged and clearance letter from your clinic or doctor
yea just be honest with your recruiter and med techs at meps, if the concussion doesnt cause any mobility or problem solving issues you "should" be okay, i would still consult with your recruiter on what to do and say
