Those was difficult to watch, spends too much time on irrelevant information. I get he's trying to be thorough, but I think it needs to be more succinct
1) the 44 lb rating is almost certainly under ideal conditions. I.e. probably 70F ambient intake air temp, with lots of airflow around device. if your hot exhaust air is recirculating into the air intake or your room is hotter than 70F like most kitchens are, yes it will make less. 2) 1 gallon @ 8lbs every 3 hours is 44 lbs in 16.5 hours. But this too is also false because the bin doesn't hold a gallon if ice. It holds about 3ish lbs as stated by manufacture. So for your setup, 24 hours / 3 hours X 3lbs is 24lbs a day. This may seem disappointing, but it's still way way faster than an ice maker in a refrigerator and it's chewy. A typical fridge probably only makes 3-5 lbs of ice in 24hrs. You could probably mod this with better cooling fans to increase output or pre-chilling water in the fridge.
We are on our second one from Costco. First one started making a god-awful grinding/whining noise after about 2 days. We delt with it for a few weeks then returned it and got a new one. The new one did the exact same thing. Terrible noise that doesn't sound normal. Clean function with vinegar does not fix. I'm assuming it's a defect across the board with these.
@@productreviewsbyclarystudi2854 mine makes so much noise too! Right when I open the ice drawer, the loud fan kicks in. then when I t goes off, it turns on every 10 min. is yours the same?
our is the same. got it from costco 3 weeks ago and man its loud. the second I open the ice bin, the moor kicks in for 10 minutes. ridiculous and have to return it. debating trying a new one to see if it was just mine.
I the one I bought was great till after 9 months it leaked water every where, removed the covers it was not a hose, it was the round unit at the top, waste of good money to only to last 9 months.
Thank you for this. I bought a clearance one from Walmart that had extra parts that because of this video I realized are for a mini fridge that whoever returned it just shoved in the box 😂
Keep one in my henhouse. Keep covered if outside. Keep out of Texas Sun , rain. Works pretty good.2 years old. Keep mine wired. But it keeps working if power failure.
I blew up the mattress after not using it for 2 years. It filled completely with air. Shortly after, it deflated and would not fill with air again. What can i do to get it going again??? Today is September 13th. 1245pm.
I purchased this ice maker because of your video! So thank you for being honest! Question though, we use ours constantly, rarely turn it off because we love ice! But we've noticed an obnoxious clicking sound has developed. Have you noticed anything like that on your machine? I'm wondering if it's just ours and I'll go switch it out at Costco ;)
@@productreviewsbyclarystudi2854 yeah, thanks, so far sooo good, my speeds for DL and UL are phenomenally tripled , I had to return a 2 set Eero that after deployment of the 2, dropped my signals and coverage so badly, I had to centralize in the living room just to get an acceptable signals. My family were tee’d off! I tried to work with the Eero for over 2 months and it got worse as the CS tried to help troubleshoot with me. So far I’m so impressed but I’ll give it another week after my pool party to see if all my wified speakers surround the pool with music. Fingers crossed
@@productreviewsbyclarystudi2854 yeah, I made it work and works phenomenally! The funny is Fiber was just installed in my neighborhood and the fiber company tried to get me to sign up, I showed the DL and UL on my App and he had no answer. I’m loving the Apps interface, my favorite is being able to see the connections and blocked connections! Everything is outstanding, Now on my network!
Purchased mine from Costco. We like it takes 2 hours to fill the basket. What I don’t like is it takes a gallon of water a day. I’ve not used tap water. Really afraid to. I run it in the am to fill our containers and again late afternoon
This Frigidaire gallery nuggetice maker is fantastic for the price point. How about $400 cheaper than the GE opal and to me does just as good a job because a friend of mine has the GE opal. Basically just fell into this one and who cares how long it takes you turn it on at night while you sleep and you got a full bed ice in the morning if you don't like the noise turn it off when you're in the kitchen or watching TV and turn it back on when you're gone. Yes it would have been nice if he would have demonstrated the cleaning feature but it is a simple process the great news is if it quit working Costco takes everything back practically
This bed is CRAP! Worked great for 2 months. Then it started deflating frequently even when plugged in. Im getting a refund from Costco asap! Thought i had a winner 🏆. Should have known it was too good to be true.😢
What’s the difference between holding the ice button vs just pressing it with one tap? I just got one and I only have to press it once for the ice to start the process.
Just purchased one of these from Costco a few days ago, finally had time to set it up yesterday. My experience was it didn't take 3 hours to fill up with ice - more like an hour-ish? Granted, it didn't fill the ice basket completely, but I'd say more like half the ice basket. So far, pretty happy with it, but also glad I purchased at Costco too, in case I decide to take it back for some reason. Thank you for your review! This is my first time purchasing an ice maker and wasn't aware that the ice melts if sitting in the basket for some time, but the reservoir catches and recycles the water to make ice again. The ice melting alone was like a "Nope, returning it!" for me, but then I came across your review and compared it to reviews for other popular countertop ice makers that I see on TikTok, and now I know this is just how countertop ice makers are made. Glad I didn't throw down the extra $$$ for the other "popular" ice makers! Plus you get a nicer scoop with this model! 😁
We have had this for a coupl3 weeks now. Sometimes it maked pretty loud motor noises, sounds exactly like a motoriZed can opener. Somtimes the motor quiets down and stops being annoying. Not sure if this can opener motor sound is normal?
@@45aprilmay ya ours does it just some of the time, usuall just after it first turns on and then it will calm down after several minutes of loud motor growling. It's borderline for me. I was about to replace it, then realized I hated the bullet ice makers because of how poorly they store ice. This gallery ice maker stores ice pretty well and is easy to break apart. I also like nugget ice best. I'd say the gallery ice maker is pretty good, but you have to determine if the sound bothers you enough or not.
Here's a quick review for me I've had it for a couple of years now. I specifically got it so that I would not have to pay a monthly fee for anything. I use the SD card for storage. The only thing that I really thought was a flaw was that the ringer is not very loud at all. Oh, and as for the battery, it really does last a good long time and I like that it's easy to remove from the door holder -it's USB rechargeable. I'm pretty happy with it.
Higher storage capacity is ideal. I'm not sure with this specific camera but there may be an option to record over old footage so you never have to worry about the SD card getting full.
Can you update on the cleaning process now that you have had it a while? We had the other Frigidaire one and it got so vile so quickly, and was next to impossible to clean. Then it stopped working.
I know what you're talking about. Imagine people who don't realize these need to be cleaned regularly. Yuck! So far I'd say this one is easier to keep clean on the inside. The removable water containers helps a lot.
I found the cord wasn't long enough when I went to fill it and way too long when I stuffed it back into that little hole! Good mattress overall. I like the headboard feature so you're not banging your head into something. Quite comfortable. Deflation was only 4 minutes, just a minute longer than inflation. I don't have experience with other air mattresse. My take on this it was good.
I think to take the oxygen out of the bottle you need a little more vigorous action than the video shows. Kinda like the motion of shaking the dice in your hands to roll at a craps table!🤔😉
Thank you for the very helpful video! We appreciate it and you taking the time to show everyone. We just bought ours. We will give it a go and see if we will keep it, if not good ole Costco we will return it. Cheers!

1gal of water into ice, 3 hours. 8 lbs per gallon, 5 gallons x 3 hours per gallon == 40lbs ice in 15 hours. Based on those metrics it's going to do fine.
@@productreviewsbyclarystudi2854 nope this data is still bad because the bin doesn't hold 8lbs, it holds 3lbs. you still have water circulating throughout the reservoir and the rest of the system.
