Para fidelizar más hay que saber fichar mejor y en mi experiencia las pymes se curran menos esto. Si el filtrado falla acaba entrando gente que se conoce poco a si misma o no es lo que realmente la empresa buscaba. Por eso no terminan queriendo fidelizar a ese empleado.
No es un tema de "busco aprovecharme del empleado". Se asume que los empresarios deben ser perfectos y no es así. Hay que saber donde uno se mete antes de firmar un contrato.
Con respecto al tema de la fragilidad por el podcast de Ancla han pasado emprendedores top como el de Cabify contando el lado oscuro de emprender. Esto es algo que no se refleja en el cine español por ejemplo, donde el empresario siempre aparece como una persona desagradable o perversa.
Tengo la impresión de que ninguna empresa grande cae bien. Y a lo mejor no es tanto culpa de estas sino de quien no facilita que haya más competencia para que caigan o no crezcan tanto.
Discrepo en parte con que lo de emprender sea cosa de ricos. En Madrid todas los viveros están en el sur, por ejemplo. Pero sí hay menos oportunidades que en EE.UU y eso sí da envidia.
Me gustaría compartir mi perspectiva sobre el video. Lo encontré interesante y entiendo que se centra en Rails, pero me surgió una reflexión más profunda. Parece que al proyecto se le impuso el uso de ese lenguaje en lugar de considerar otras opciones. Personalmente, no veo mucho sentido en migrar de Python a Ruby si el objetivo es mejorar el rendimiento. Considerando que es más fácil encontrar programadores en Python que en Rails, parece que el proyecto depende en gran medida de sus desarrolladores actuales, lo que dificulta aún más encontrar personas con experiencia en esta tecnología. En este sentido, el argumento de los costos de las máquinas en la nube se vuelve menos relevante cuando se debe pagar el doble o el triple a un programador en Ruby en comparación con uno en Python. En mi opinión, los criterios para mejorar deberían basarse en aprovechar al máximo lo que ya tenemos (refactorización, optimizaciones e infraestructura en último lugar). Es muy probable que el 90% de los problemas se puedan resolver hasta este punto sin siquiera cambiar de lenguaje. Después de abordar esas mejoras, sería útil comprender por qué el lenguaje actual representa un problema y, en ese caso, migrar a uno que esté diseñado específicamente para optimizar el uso de memoria, como un lenguaje compilado (Go, Rust) o incluso Node.js. Aunque estos lenguajes también pueden presentar desafíos en el mercado laboral, considero que son opciones más adecuadas para optimizar el rendimiento.
¡Gracias por tu respuesta! Uno de los factores principales era el time to market, y eso solo lo podíamos conseguir con Ruby. Además, la empresa quería contar con nosotros para toda la duración del proyecto y para el posterior mantenimiento, así que se nos dio carta blanca para usar las tecnologías que quisiéramos. Usar el codebase antiguo era imposible dado que no había equipo que lo entendiera en la parte de cliente y además era muy legacy. El cliente ya estaba inclinado a cambiar a Rails por anterior experiencia con esta tecnología, por lo que a nivel de negocio les era favorable también. Dicho esto, deberíamos haberlo comentado en el podcast, así que gracias por el feedback y la próxima vez lo comentaremos también!

When an advert appears on a video I am consuming, I never click and would NEVER actually associate that ad as being associated with the product I am watching. In what kind of sad world, does a person make their life work about getting companies to pull adverts from content they personally don't agree with? I know the concept of free speech is foreign to people on the Left, but honestly your efforts are a joke to the rest of us. In the real world, if people don't like something, they self censor. Why do you believe you are the moral arbiter..... of adverts?

It's the only presidency they've ever known and haven't lived in the real world...just tech world. It's obvious they know zero about a world outside of that. They are the "tech world can stop the world" generation, Obama said I was special and smart. Unfortunately, they haven't done any research on any presidencies, the intel agencies and defense contractors, the lifetime political big shots, etc...etc.... They support this admin who created the 2014 Ukraine coup along with Obama adminstration, Victoria Nuland (who is working under Biden again currently). That coup was a regime change success and was extremely violent, people burned alive in buildings, snipers. It's the same M.O. the u.s. government has used for over 50 years....in numerous countries. But apparently these two support that kind of government and adminstration who would do this kind of thing. Biden was successful at creating the violent coup.and regime change and now we are involved and paying for a proxy war, our economy is tanked and we are suffering....as is the world. What a coincidence, I have been working on a small MVP for a new Startup which is asking me to be their CTO but they already consist of 4(!) non-technical co-founders. They must be nuts thinking I would put in the legwork for a small share in their uncertain company.
The Machiavellian analogy is a brilliant one. I believe it is possible to have strong early stage as well as later companies focussed more on people and product.
