Dealers paying 50% to 60% of retail value when purchasing a used item for resale is pretty much standard. People criticizing this don't understand how much overhead, time, and effort there is in a business like this. In order to end up with maybe a 10% net profit on sales, there needs to be a much larger margin on the buy side. Plus, you have to factor in the risk that an item is fake/has an undisclosed flaw of some sort and also consider how long thousands of dollars in working capital could be tied up in a single item while awaiting resale. Whether it's watches, jewelry, vintage guns, antiques, or any similar pre-owned item of value, it's pretty much standard practice for a dealer to pay you roughly half of retail value.

Come on come on!!! Gypsies selling watches to Rubes! Go to Europe and you can get any high end watch for 40% less than these wonderful people are selling them for!
How’s that a scam ??? All you MFs are the idiots nickeling and diming for anything you buy or sell. That’s business. You want the watch sold ? Done, it’s sold, here’s your money. People always being busy counting others pockets. You’ll never be happy or settled like that. They actually have of the best names in the industry, and you can see it in the way the dealers interact with them. So don’t shit talk them when you never even met them. I kinda agree you don’t brag about it online as it’s not good marketing, but business is business. People always sad and salty when someone makes a buck these days it’s pathetic. The more you count others pockets the more you’ll be a slave to greed. Greed is permanent slavery.
You have a major advantage over someone just trying to get into this. You know the watches and reference numbers and you know the market and pricing. You'd spot a really good deal that you can flip for a nice profit that someone else would miss.
They literally said at the end they did it cause the dad had bad beef with the guy for something or something like that that’s why they said fuck um he doesnt know what he has. Open ur ears
A Rolex is not something you sell unless you’re in debt. The intrinsic value and accomplishment of owning one is enough to last till you die, at least for the common working class . But each to their own
