Nice. You and your crew are dope. I’ve been watching a lot of old Bboy vids of Bboy Hodown and Bboy City. I’ve always wondered: why were Texan bboys so good at power move and power tricks? So many legendary bboys came from Texas who did alot of moves that nobody had seen before back in the early 2000’s.
@@amuroray9115 I think it just helps for a scene to grow when there's a guy who can really teach the new generation how to train towards perfecting certain moves. after the California powermove renaissance of the 90s (Lil Ceasar, Ivan, Kujo, Super Dave, Ronnie Ruen, Iron Monkey, Jazzy J, Gerald, Pablo, Charles) came the Texas generation that brought us Omar, Milky, Shorty UNB, BOY!, Curious, Nightcrawler, Charles VG and a few others. My scene in Miami was heavily influenced by Troll from Street Masters which is evident in guys like Flea Rock, Elmo, Teal Steel, Xeno, Legacy, Tells/Rebirth and some others, while Central Florida was influenced heavily by guys that moved down from New York City to that area, like Flipz and Abstrak from Skill Methodz. if you go back to some of the earliest FreeStyle Session tapes, you'll notice that it was all California crews for the most part. It wasn't until Havik and KORO teamed up and went to FSS5 in 1999 along with United B-Boys where I feel some of those connections may have begun to be forged to start learning from each other.
dam as someone that's been into it for only a few years I've mostly only seen really recent and new stuff. Seeing older stuff like this is witnessing history

True flava is not merely relevant to bboying but is a part of a subculture in a myriad of aspects of everyday life for some. DJs and Graffiti artists can have flavor as well. Flava is something that looks or sounds tasteful. That is the essence of flavor. It is character and finesse. It is what makes someone unique and separate from others that are doing the same exact thing. In regards to dance techniques the way someone does the movement distinguishes who they are. It is expression and that is true flava.
