As you all see in the season 2 and 3, never will be a happy ending for Charlotte and Sidney. Charlotte had to have her happy ending with other man. A real shame. 😢
I agree! One of my favorite couples. I wish Babbington would have come back for Season 2 as well. So much heartbreak for how the season 1 ended and how they had to restart with season 2.
Nobody hires her anymore or they remember her, and I am not referring to how bad an actress she is, but rather that she has not forged a notable career in the industry and she is almost 40, that happens with actors at a certain age, they are displaced and replaced sadly. she is lucky to have a producer husband.
I don't believe it was ever said. :( breaks my heart a little. Season 1 was my favorite of the 3. The complicated characters, the filming, the potential redemption story... I miss them.
After Sidney's failed proposal attempt, at the ball, the only thing worth watching, in this episode, is James Stringer's farewell speech, to Charlotte! It was poorly done, by the writers. S2 isn't worth watching!
I wasn't my favorite way to continue the series either. The series sorta lost it's original magic with the change of characters, loss of characters, new sets etc.
Despite what she says, CH wants to marry a rich man. She has tunnel vision and 'friend zones' the nice, normal men. She is arrogant, in that, she thinks that she can improve men/people, when she has lots of faults, herself. She friend zones JS, in S1, and RS, in S3! She pursues two wealthy men, who haven't been able to have a relationship for 10yrs! Sidney is soon forgotten, when CH's new 'boss' turns out to be a very wealthy widower, with a huge mansion. Despite telling SP that he should marry someone, with whom he is compatible, CH pursues AC. The only thing that they have in common is a loathing of London! He is immature, controlling and doesn't let his two wards socialise, at all! Both CH and AC use the children to get to each other. Both behave in a highly immoral way. She has no competition for him, as she did for SP. AC disrespects her and has to control her! She is an inexperienced country girl. SP was 9 yrs her senior. AC is about 17yrs her senior. It's ridiculous. JY has tried to turn her into a cross between Mary Poppins and Superwoman! It's poorly done! If they hadn't been greedy and tried to stretch it out, they could have had a HEA, at the end of S1. Instead, S2 was a mess, losing most of the important characters! It's full of plot holes and personality changes!
I love, love, love this dance. However, when SP (Theo James) tells CH that he doesn't want to dance with any other women, his closed-mouth smile looks more like a sneer! 😃
They should re-shoot the last episode of S1, from Old Stringer's death. They should cancel the fire. James Stringer should go to London, after his father's death. Sidney and Charlotte should marry and stay in Sanditon, to keep an eye on Tom! They should start a family. Any further series should be to see Sanditon become quite successful. Georgiana's story could be completed.
She says that she doesn't think badly of him but she doesn't sound very forgiving. Did he really give her that little bit of false hope, just to make sure she didn't think badly of him? If he's not at liberty to tell her that he loves her, then, why did he tell her that he had wanted to propose to her? It's no better telling her that he's marrying someone that he doesn't love (but still thought that he loved at the beginning of the regatta)! She gives him the okay to be happy, with a monster! She's, probably, remembering the end of the London ball! His family (all, except for Mary) seem quite happy about the result! Why was their relationship a big secret, even from Charlotte's father? He never looked like proposing. So, the makers, obviously, wanted this awful ending! Another Jane Austen adaptation ruined by egos! S2 & S3 just making money off the back of this! No Sidlotte HEA!
