Motorcycling is and remains a matter of personal preference. I also had my eye on the R1 after it was announced that it would no longer be sold here in Germany from 2025. After test riding one and not feeling like it after ten minutes, I was delighted to be back on my bike (I was still riding my YAMAHA MT-09 SP at the time). The R1 was just too radical for me and even though it is sexier than an MT-09 SP and has considerably more power, it was significantly less fun for me on winding country roads. I then test rode a Ducati Panigale V2 and was thrilled because I was able to ride the bike for 90 minutes without any problems and because I was also able to use the power better and thus had significantly more fun overall. I was 99% sure that it would be my new bike. Immediately afterwards, I test rode the Streetfighter V2 and was in love with it. It can do everything the Panigale can do, only better, with more ease and a lot more fun. After ten minutes I went back to the dealer and signed the purchase contract for a green Streetfighter V2. This is expected to arrive next week =) That's the end of the supersport motorcycle chapter for me. For me, naked bikes are simply a lot more fun. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
If that iphone on navigation is your primary phone then please use a secondary phone for navigation, because vibrations from bike mess up the camera stability permanently
@@Rickontwowheels Idk I love the sound the the Akrapović but I started to like Serdanović more it has a better look and sound in my opinion, Maybe even sc projects they maybe even have better looks and sound then Serdanovič or Akrap
@Rickontwowheels they keep saying wait for summer it's gonna be hot! Bruh the last 3 years in a row it's peaked like 25 🤣 (but ill take 25 over 10 and raining)
Im in canada, My H2 SXSE costs me $1303 insurance a year. And about $150 oil changes a year. Fuel economy is great. Tires last me 4-5 years or so. So never had to replace yet but my buddies do tire installs and Balance for $40 so when I go to replace wont be bad. Fuel cost is $1.70 a liter for 93 octane. Bike gets good mileage, I average 6L/100km
@@davidwillkie oohhh, didn’t notice that part my bad. Then we actually on about the same prices if I only ever high octane. I need a street legal bike, driving my truck with these prices sucks man:(
@@Rickontwowheels I love the 1390. I wouldn’t trade it out for any other bike. I’ve ridden the Ducati streetfighter v4 and I don’t like it as much as the duke
@812moto how really ? I want to test out the v4 street fighter . I’m learning towards selling my r1 to maybe get a hyper naked What didn’t you like about it ?
@@Rickontwowheels the seating position was very awkward for me. It feels like it’s trying to be a superbike over a naked. The 1390 feels more like a true naked. The power on the v4 is insane and very fun to ride but the seating position is just to aggressive for me
Was randomly scrolling youtube and clicked this vid only to realise on the first couple seconds that you're about to head up mac pass so used to american or european vids hahahah
is the bike "hard" to ride slow? Planning on upgrading from my R7 to an R1 at some point but looking at the listings for used R1s half of them are selling because "I will die if I keep riding this bike". I don't have a crazy need for speed or anything but I absolutely love the sportbike look and the crossplane sound.
I wouldn’t say it’s hard to ride slow , it just doesn’t like the stop starting It’s very easy to control , throttle is pretty good if you put it in mode b or c A mode is way too twitchy Respect the bike and you’ll be right I think people don’t understand how much power litre bikes have Best way to see if you like it , would be try one out . I ride mine both in the twisties and slow stuff I’m the same I’m not chasing speed just love the look and sound of the r1 Best of luck 🤙🤙
I’ve alreaady traded in my 1390. Had it for two weeks in which it hit false neutral EIGHT TIMES! On my last ride on it it altso slipped out of gear under heavy acceleration and that’s when i made my mind up, this bike has to go. I’m not a KTM basher, My 1290 evo ran like a champ, never missed a beat. It altso looks « cheap» up close with the matte paint. My 1290 looked like a premium bike, the 1390 not so much. Maybe i’ll give it another chance in a couple of years when teething problems are sorted and they’ve launched a 1390 GT because theres nothing like that SuperDuke torque
@@Rickontwowheels I didn’t want the hassle of warranty claims and being stuck with the bike so i never told them it had issues.🫣 I just wanted it gone. The BMW is an amazing bike, it does everything to perfection but it’s no 1300cc V twin. It does not make me giggle like the KTM does
The one thing I hate about my R1 is that the mirrors are postioned too low. On the older R1s mirrors were much higher. They line up exactly with most car mirrors, so I have to be really careful when filtering, not to hit the car mirrors. If I remember, I sometimes fold them in before filtering. I agree with your 5 points, although, with the TFT screen, if it were higher up and larger, the nose cone design would have to change, which would ruin the iconic look of the bike and I think that the R1 is the best looking of all the litre bikes. Ride safe.
@@Rickontwowheels it makes you waste so much time. Unfortunately I can’t change mine at the moment since I’ve spent so much money on other mods so gonna have to just work with it for a year or so 😫
