Terrific video. Many thanks. I dare say that you have seen this comment before, but as a yank I got a bit of a chuckle when you "offer up" material to the fly. In all my travels to the UK that is a first. By the way, what size hook were you using. Again, many thanks.
I was lucky enough to meet Bernard at Twickenham when England played the all blacks around 79-80. Being 14 years old, Bernard was kind, gentle humoured and made my friend and I feel we were friends. Wonderful gentleman.
Hi I remember fishing a competition at kingfisher farm somewhere in the Milton Keynes area In the competition was Bernard Cribbins along with Leonard Parkin, news reader. Had a wonderful day fishing with them. I think the trout lakes were sold and a Hotel was built on the land, that is what I was told years and years ago. Great fly fishing video. Thanks for the memory. Bob. 👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣
Clear description of tying this excellent and highly effective pattern ,great in spring... just add an ultra slow retrieve....and watch the tip of the fly line or feel for that take.... Well it's worked for me for ..18 seasons Simon Artley,Manchester
Great man, I remember him with great joy, & anything that Peter cockwill does is great as far as I'm concerned a great angler from yester year, I remember meeting him when he came to do a talk a my club,😀😀😀
It looks so easy when done by professionals. Then the fun and games start when I'm in my man cave screaming because I cannot get the dubbing to stay on the thread, or the hackle breaks and the hook sticks into my thumb trying to hold the fibers back then the tread snaps, the whole thing when finished looks like a mangled spider. Then I pack it all up and decide I will just buy some flies online.
Lovely tying I tie a version liike this. but without the front hackle. I will try that though. Its a very effective fly here-in Australia :-) I tie a sort of nymph version as well. Also effective.
*It's a forgiving rod for the newcomer>>>**nub.best/mego** and an excellent backup rod for the more experienced angler. I've been fishing for over 40 years and own a lot of rods; I like the feel of this one as much as any other I've used.*
