Blade is too thin , cutting edge is not hollow ground , how long does a blade forged from low carbon steel stay sharp , clanp it in a vise and try to bend it. Next time try using masonry nails they are high carbon steel or steel cable . I had a friend that forged knives from steel cable , much better than nails . I could tell by the sparks from grinder that you were using low carbon steel
Sad part about modern forging is most of the hard hammering to shape the piece is gone, ruins the idea of what we think forging is. U imagine a big buff viking dude, dirty, sweaty, long unruly hair and beard, sporting goggles and a white tank top. This dude ain't him
