The only thing this vid lacks is length. I saw the title and when the video started I looked down and saw 22 minutes! Say it ain't so joe. I'll give you credit though you packed in a ton of superb content in a short space of time. My Father had that maroon and white johnson in a 9 1/2 hp on a 14 foot skiff. That boat would scream down the river. Your family is a hoot!
thank you again Kyle , such an awesome trip with you family , thanks once again for sharing your story and now we know where it all started , Nice 👍👍👍👍👍
Kyle, I’ve commented before that I’m a tip of the mitt native , 56 years old now, and you sir , are one bad ass dude. Look forward to every new video.. keep up the great work
I know, right? When the man does the fish on baby thing... I get to live vicariously for a few moments. My take away from his videos, is that his real trophies are his family connections.
Steelhead is one thing I never got around to getting out to do. East Coast native and could never afford the trip. If you’re in that neck of the woods, don’t pass up the chance.
Nice to see some one who is right handed that reels with his left hand. If your right handed and cast with your right hand then switch hands to reel with your right hand your a wierdo
Get an anchor system rigged up in order to drop when you hook a big fish. Will save you from losing some hogs and getting into some sticky situations while fighting them, esp. in faster water. I do a lot of similar fishing for trout and bass out of a yak and paddle board.
13:51 I think I know that spot. Michigan used to maintain a series of campgrounds on the main rivers for paddlers. Most of them are abandoned now. It's a shame they don't promote paddling anymore. It's still OK to camp there, but there's no amenities like wells, fire rings, or outhouses. Downstream, there used to be a Federal campground. No more. 40:57 Probably trumpeter swans, an uncommon sight in Michigan, removed from the endangered species list just a year ago.
I'm originally from Munising> I go back up north for a few weeks every fall, but now I live in Florida. I'm 80 and have been trying to get my wife to move back for 30 years. If you are an adventure-loving Michigander don't fall for the "Winters are too cold B.S" It's not a wise trade-off for 100-degree summers with 100% humidity and storms that blow your house away. I love the Lake Superior surf fishing videos. I'm an avid fisherman and I don't recall anyone fishing from Superior's shore other than myself 40 years ago. Manistee is my second choice for a place to live and play in Michigan. That area is possibly the best place to raise a family and build a life in Michigan. I'd love to see a complete float of the Escanaba or the Tahquamenon rivers. They both traverse through some beautiful country and are excellent fishing. Your enthusiasm and practical bush knowledge are informative, infectious, and light-hearted, however; I can't watch your videos before meals. I tend to take your enthusiasm to the table. Thanks for the seat in the canoe and by the fireside.
Nice trip! I’ve started in the Grayling area and gone the opposite way on the Au Sable out to Lake Huron. You should do that next. It was a lot of fun!
