I think its just Valve they dont have gooner bait characters in their games Half life - Both Alyx and Mossman are pretty regular looking woman not sexualised, Eli, Barney and kliner also look like everyday joe Portal - I mean glados looks like a BDSM girl hanging upside down. Other than that chell is pretty normal looking Tf2- all Mercs are avg looking (except medic he is hot) L4d- all survivors (except Zoey my beloved) DOTA- there are some generic looking heros but most of them are Monsters or ugly beasts I remember even Garry Newman talked about why he likes having average less attractive models in game (S&box) rather than every charcter looking like a super model
I hope so! Im really looking foward to What-ifs, Character Customization and Custom Battle Mode, where people can create their own fighting cenarios littles cutscenes and all. Pretty Dope!
The game is in early acess and some of the desings are from early alpha when the games was Neon Prime, Yamato will get changed concept art already leaked
@@Augiwott That was not very nice of my part, I'm sorry Im not mainly refering to you, saw I streak o videos of channels that where talking nonsense about games they don't know much about and kind put you in that trail, I apologize.
Oh no, Concord's characters are quite ugly. Deadlock's characters may be "ugly" but they have an amazing style to them. It's the same thing that has made Tf2's characters stand out. Concord is just Deadlock's Bebop scrapyard robot design has a ton of visual character to him than Concord's character designs. Not only do you have something like his giant arm, but it's the little things like his raggy pants, his sandals, and the beads on his ankle. It sells him as being from the scrapyard and being, well, a scrapper. Does a better job than Concord's Daw's airsoft fat guy in a blue coat at any rate. Dynamo is the better fat healer.
despite being a game in an alpha stages of development deadlock has fundamentally better character designs. There are many videos of actual long-time artists and character designers in the videogame industry breaking down concord's designs, and they all end up filled with what is described as "beginner mistakes" by people who actually have experience. If the people who made these characters weren't "woke" but maintained their level of skill they still would put out garbage that failed. But also there is a fundamental difference between "ugly" as a character design choice, which still can make for an amazing character design, and "ugly" being pushed as something beautiful/attractive
I think that Deadlock has that "ugly" or "unappealing" design that carried over from other Valve games. Like, look at Dota's Brewmaster, he is a fat tiger that drinks and practices martial arts that revolve around being drunk, and you might say he is ugly, but he is memorable, like, those designs are organically incorporated, fit the character and you can easily associate it with them
@@Augiwott they feel more themed, and a lot of the 'ugliness' some characters have still looks appealing. The models don't feel very done but there is enough to get the idea of what the character is about
@@stupidsniper5216 I agree with you I’ve just heard people talk about how the characters are not “conventionally attractive” but I think the designs are great
Honestly ugly/wokified design can be overshadowed by profoundly intuitive and fun gameplay. Like example Kenshi. Definitely not a game for everyone, but the game is pretty ugly in my opinion. But it’s so addictive and fun from a mechanical standpoint that the smaller community it has have kept it alive and strong. Same for Project Zomboid. Games are one of the few mediums where beauty isn’t necessarily make or break. There are plenty of beautiful games that have soul crushingly bad gameplay and they fail because of it. But if you have ugly design aesthetic and bad gameplay there is no hope. I feel like game devs need to just use placeholder models and focus solely on gameplay design before fleshing out their visual designs. A lot of games feel like they do the opposite nowadays. They focus on trying to make the graphics good and make character designs they want to see before making sure the gameplay is there. Conchord is the best example of a game that while having good graphics persay, had terrible design aesthetic and cookie cutter gameplay that refused to take any ambitious leaps forward.
kenshi or zomboid are not what many would consider to be "wokified" though. There's a game, and it's great. Nothing in the game is made to push a certain view down the player's throat and the developers are not hostile towards the players. There could be things that follow some view or agenda but they're not pushed out in the front, which a lot of people who genuinely only care about the game prefer
@@supershid464 i wasn’t necessarily referring to them as wokified. But they are ugly looking games in my opinion that have strong communities despite not being charms to look at. A better example of “woke” games being praised by pretty much anyone who plays them would be BG3 or perhaps Warframe. Sorry for the confusion, that’s my bad for the wording.
You should show pictures of the deadlock characters you're talking about. I never played deadlock and even though I was interested in the video, I couldn't tell what you were talking about half the time. Also you got clowned in voice chat
Theyve also said a couple times that these characters are not the final designs. Theyve shown what they plan to have yamato looking like in the future. Also players that take this game so seriously are players that cant have fun to save their life. Even a game in alpha that doesnt have a meta yet people still cant help but be slaves to it.
I completely agree with you on one hand I understand the meta is super important to win games but it gets so boring doing the same thing every single game just play around with abilities and have fun tbh but that’s me. Some people are different.
Deadlock is just super fun, like you said it feels like a really good PvP shooter but also much more strategy-based than pretty much any shooter out there (because it’s actually a MOBA in the guise of a shooter).
@@Augiwott Yeah like at the worst some of em are kinda bland but even the ones that are blatantly unfinished or carryovers from the previous theme the game had with planned redesigns coming later on (like Viscous, Yamato and Grey Talon) are still, like, fine. lol
I don't think it proves concord wrong as concords character designs were both really ugly but also had no cohesion to what their abilities and playstyles are. In this game idk what lash does for sure but he looks like a close range brawler while daw from concord doesn't look like a medic in the slightest. Please lmk about lash though as I've never played this game and are making assumptions based off his design
You are right I didn’t even think about that! Most characters do look like their play style you can tell right away just like you did! Hope you enjoyed the video!
It's weird, because a fair bit of the concird designs still look unfinished, yet are super detailed. I think the one that stands out the most was Roka, the person with the rocket launcher and jetpack, they had what looks like a skintight suit, butbthrm this comically oversized helmet? It looks like they just slapped 2 alpha designs on top of each other, neither part looks like it was designed for the other.
@@Augiwott without direction, you can just wander around in a circle forever. Whilst I've not overly looked into the game, I've never, never, been able to understand concords direction. Hero shooters are already over saturated, you basically need a gimmick to stsnd out, and build around, but they never had one. It's like being asked to design a building, but never given any specifications on its purpose, location, size, etc, you'll just end up with a boring cube, that fulfils no purpose.
Retarded concepts. I guess PlayStation feels like loosing money now. Look quit that woke crap. How's about before we release a new product we ask the consumers what they want 😑
They need to bring this type of stuff back because spending anything more than 800 v bucks on a glider is just crazy considering the fact you only use it once per game 💀
I’ll say that goku and vegeta look a little off they look way skinnier but overall you know you can’t go wrong on vegeta and goku there still fire skins
