So what if my dog does this to me every time I come home as his way of giving me hugs. Should I not allow him to and how do I stop him now from it? Also the link that you provide to show us the right way doesn’t work.
Hi. My GSD 9month puppy is limping from right fore limb . With anti-inflammatory it is imprve and then again start.. 2 week now. He is able to put weight on that limb while jumping walking but i can she he limp.. but cant find any tenderness or swelling anyehere..what to do.. help
Having a really hard time finding this on my Dachshund mix who is suffering from IVDD. His back is super hunched and hind legs stiff and weak. He’s on muscle relaxers (methocarbamol), anti-inflammatory (Carpeofen) and pain meds (GabGabapentin) - he can walk for a bit but is so stiff. The part that throws me off is describing it as a “sausage like” I feel something more thin and flat that seems to look like the picture diagram but am not sure. It’s very tight though. 🤷🏻♂️ I just want him to suffer and it’s been 6 days now with no improvement. I’m not sure if it’s the meds making him so unstable or the nerve pain but As I was trying to do this exercise he seemed to respond to it even though it didn’t improve his stiffness. Really appreciate your vids tho and just trying to give the best care I can. Thx
Im old and disabled in so many way I laugh that keep at it. Yesterday the vet said my rescue dog who may be 15 yrs has a pinched nerve & is obese. (. Corgi size & 45lbs. Who is to say?). Any way his back legs will not support his back end. So mom “me” will be moving him around, changing diapers and going up & down 6 stares every time he wants to poop 💩. Yayyyyy So im shopping for a harness that will help me help him. Any recommendations ? Im currently using his diaper and a mesh belt to creat basically the harness you used in the video. About 6” wide that covers a lot of his belly all the way to his hips. But Im concern that in the long run it will hurt his pennies.
Do you tend to start stretching right away? I ask because when I pulled my hamstring, I had to allow healing time before I was allowed to begin stretching.
I have performance dogs and one in particular is prone developing trigger points, especially along the spine L3-L4 region. How many times a week should you check for trigger points, is it a daily thing, and if you find one, can you work on it every day until it improves or do they need a rest day between treatment?
Good tip. Just naturally I’ve been massaging it with fingers hitting the sides of joints. Then I stretch back legs out. Been doing it for few months and noticed improvement. Also collagen and glucosamine supplement is a must.
My dog is 3 weeks out and trying to jump into the back of the car. She is trying to do exercises at full speed. I have had to put her on tranquilizers because she is trying to do too much.
Hey I am confused bout the same..the puppy is 2.5 months old everything was good till 2 days back. Then all of a sudden the puppy started screamin when we touch him near the tail and the whole back bone. The guy eats, drinks and walks all good although less than previous. Is it the same problem or something else?
My little chi has Ivdd in the neck area. Just had surgery two weeks Wednesday. She is on four weeks crate recovery then gradual movement on her own. However, at this point she cannot stand, does not walk. We were told that she has a 90 percent chance of coming back to us as before but the last two weeks as well as the prior two weeks of constant pain has made it difficult. Crushes my husband and I to see her this way. Any suggestions for the neck area would be appreciated.

I have a beagle thats just turned 7. I know they are prone to problems with there hind legs etc. I took my girl to emergency vets sunday. Just for a fricking consultatuon it was over 200 pound, not even with treatments added... And we still dont know whats wrong. She had an injection and was given painkillers for the course of 4 days.. sometimes i feel shes getting better then she starts limping again and occasional wimper. Ill take her back to the vets soon if no improvement, or she worsens. Im carrying her up and down stairs... on and off the bed etc. Im just worried its something more serious...
Hind right leg. I've took her to my normal vet yesterday and just over a week before. She's provided onsior painkiller 1 week or so ago, and after a couple days was like her complete self if not more energetic. Probably from the boredom of not going out for her walks as advised from vets. She was booked in for an xray but I phone vet and he advised to cancel xeay and see how she goes as there's alot of improvement. Started taking her on short walks again. Then noticed her leg causing her problems again and yelping when I'd pick her up to take her upstairs (have been doing constantly since her legs bothered her. As most of the time she waits for me not wanting to go up herself as it will strain her back leg more. But beagles are crazy at times and when she's hyper she will run up herself or down.. she's back on the painkillers now, and advised to walk her on short 10-15 minute walks on leash twice a day. Which have been doing. She isn't as bad as she was before when originally started thankfully. But it's hard seeing her this way limping. I'm giving her joint supplements too since her leg started hurting. So hopefully they help within time and that her leg heals. But if no improvement in a week back to the vets for an xray. I'm hoping it's nothing serious or long term.
My 4 yr dog just had spinal surgery because he lost his usage of his hind legs down. We are getting him tomorrow. I feel overwhelmed and am scared. Thank you.
No, and xray won't show the nerves, but it show local structures that can affect the nerve as well as rule out other potential conditions that could be causing similar symptoms.
Hello Sir ! I have an eight month old dog whose hind legs are weak and his left leg collapses sometime while he's sitting for long. We have tile flooring in our home. And also the vet failed to help us through this. He prescribed doctor doxy tablets and neurokind tablets but it didn't work for my dog. I am worried for my dog , please help me so that my dog can be all well and live to the fullest.
Amazing help, thank you, my dog just started babying her back leg last night and I’m going to keep a close eye on her to watch for any improvement. She’s not crying, shaking, or anything just babying it, so I’m hoping it’s nothing serious
My dog got this after a day at the pool. She never got in but she played with a sprinkler all day. Your theory of them shaking water off their coat makes sense to me because that’s all she did that day.
5:14 not sure why my previous comment didappeared. I have a miature shih tzu who when i pinch the webbing in her paw doesnt withdraw, and doesnt bring het paw back this is on jer front right leg. The vet thinks its neurological and wants to refer us for an mri. Our insurance is now maxed out and an mri is going to cost between £4-5 thousand which is money we dont have What do you think it could be and is there anything we can do that might help at home? The right side of her neck is swollen and hot to touch . She favours her left side and wont sharp turn right. Eating and drinking fine going toilet all good. About 2 years ago she did slip a disk in her lower back . With anti inflammatory and pain telief strict rest she got better... From England
It's impossible to say without the whole history, but you can always continue to treat what is suspected without having an MRI done. However, if it doesn't respond, imaging can help to rule things in or out. Also depending on the age of the dog, it can make these decisions easier or more difficult. Hopefully, they get relief soon.
@k9activehealth she's 7 years old I know shih tzu are prone to disc and back problems ..its just so hard currently on anti inflammatory and pain relief but now her back right leg is wobbly too 😢
Hi I have a minature shih tzu who is experiencing all these signs. No feeling when I pinch webbing lack of feeling in right front leg and dragging paw. The vet thinks it's neurological but an mri is costly and unaffordable at the moment . What could be wrong and do you have any recommendations at all. Desperate. Thank you
Measuring is very important on how to get the correct measurements. You didn’t go over properly measuring your dog and that’s what I wanted to see since I’m going to be putting a harness on my Alaskan Husky. I did enjoy the other fitting aspects as well. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this video! It was informative and understandable, and a good length. I sincerely appreciate your suggestions for those of us who need to try our best to help our pets at home. I’d always prefer to go to a veterinarian, but sometimes it’s not possible-and that’s heartbreaking. My 15 year old Bichon jumped off of a bed onto hard tile two years ago. His vet did an ex-ray that showed a mild issue with his spine. She gave him anti-inflamatories and he has been great until recently. He’s having the same symptoms now, so I feel pretty confident trying anti-inflamatories and rest for now. Really, thank you so very much for this information!
Hey! I’m glad your baby is doing better, just today I had similar issue with mine Siberian Husky, he jumped a few flights of stairs down and landed hard on my wood floor, his rear end is completely paralyzed & he won’t feel anything. I Just got back from the vets and besides the surgery witch was sadly extremely out of our budget, he recommended home Medications, was wondering if the Anti-inflammatory is an option ican buy online or would I have to strictly get it from the vet? Thank you so much in advance
@@julioalcantara1485Awe, I’m so sorry you pup is hurt! The surgery is out of budget for me as well, and my vet said the outcomes aren’t great anyway. Mine is on prescription from the vet.
