Gotta have a culling of the shelves to make room for new favorites! I just put a bunch of books in little free libraries around my neighborhood today as well! No hard feels at all for unhauling a gifted book! They are gifts, meaning they are yours to do with what you wish 😊 Speaking of, though, iirc Nov is your birthday month? I'd love to get you whichever books you still need for criminal intentions season 1!
I'm sure your neighbors appreciate that! Awww that's sweet💖. I just put the final book (Crescendo) into my amazon wish list. I can't believe I'm on the final book! I've been on such a journey with these characters 😍
@@natcatsbookishcafe3799 I checked the series just in case and I'm glad I did cause it looks like Crescendo is not the last book! There's 2 more: Hatters Game part 1 and Hatters Game part 2- could you add those, too?
I love unhauls, especially the big ones :- D The comments while unhauling Don Quixote 😆 Work For It is on my TBR, I really want to go through Talia Hibbert's backlist after loving The Brown Sisters series.
Natalie! This clip where you’re fighting the sun shadows is really showing off your eyes! Are they hazel? So pretty 😍 Also, I feel like I would cry during the Traveling Cat Chronicles too and loved to hear that it potentially has some autism rep!
I liked this style of wrapup! Less repeated information/plots for you to remember and there's some build up for "ooo what were the top books??" 😁 The plot of Sinner really sounded 😬 Like, okay girl, I think you should take two minutes to reconsider your path of becoming a nun 😅 My Sept reading was not great, but I got to spark up a ton of conversations with friends while reading Dracula so I'd say that's still a win 👍
Yay, always love a bonus Monday video ❤ It looks like you chugged along quite well for week 2! Glad you got some nice self care/relaxation time in for yourself as well. Cat chronicles sounds so cute I might have to pick it up! As someone who struggles to fall asleep, I recently learned the "Cognitive Shuffle" method, which has been working fairly well for me (unless I am in anxiety-induced thought spirals). I have tried so many sleeping techniques and it's the only one that has had any lasting effectiveness! I was complaining to my dad that stores are going to eventually carry every holiday's themed items all year round at this point, it's crazy how much earlier we get holiday ads/products every year 🙄
I think I used a sleep meditation audio for a while that used cognitive shuffle along with a few other techniques; it would have me visualize a candle flame or something simple like that. You should definitely read The Travelling Cat Chronicles! I'm already making my mom read it so she can suffer with me lol. I agree they put decorations out too early. Me and my mom went to one of our favorite stores up here at the start of October and they were already transitioning to Christmas! Like you always have to buy decorations a month or two in advance 😅.
I’m working on collection of Japanese legends form last month I’ve only one book left from last months TBR as I just finished goosebumps welcome to dead house. I’m also working on for this months TBR zombie loan vol.1 a manga . And a young Indiana jones book titanic adventure . I also finished a audiobook KOLCHACK the nightstalker the first book of the KOLCHACK series . The movies differ the universal Frankenstein movies follow the monster The hammer horror movies Frankenstein tend focus more on Dr. Frankenstein. Also universal did a series of comedy movies starring the comedy Abbott and Costello where the meet the unvseral monsters Also of you want a historical comedy there is Abbott and Costello meets Captain kidd which I think connected with a black white movie called Captain kidd .
If it makes feel better I choose to do 5 rolls for Spookoplathon and ended with 9 (4 doubles), yeah ! I have read Frankenstein and it is well written but the main character is so whiny that I ended up so annoyed at the book. I have dnfed The Unbroken too (I found it too vulgar in the writing style at some points but the world building was well done) I also dnfed Godkiller 😓. I'm really interested by The Reformatory though. Oh and I tried your random word generator out of curiosity and ended up with "sex" somehow 😂😂😂
@@ellyra412 yikes the game is mean! I’m not a big fan of overly vulgar writing so hopefully it doesn’t turn me off too much 🙃. I would rather have had the word sex and read a romance than accountant lol 😂
The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna was a wonderful book and I thoroughly loved it. I am thinking about doing TBR Harvest and Spookopolothon, but I haven't yet decided.
The games were really adding on the books. The accountant prompt was hard. I would have done the same thing and found something that deals with financial gain of some kind. I hope your reads go well.
Yay! So glad that your reads are going well so far, hoping the rest of your Orillium is even better! I do believe that Criminal Intentions is actually still ongoing, so you don't have to say goodbye just yet! 🥰 Unfortunately, my reading month has been very slow so far, but since I've already read so much prior months, I'm trying to allow myself to take it easy 🙂
I did see there were other books in the series, but wasn't sure if it followed other characters, but I'll be happy even if our current characters are just side characters. I'll take what I can get! Its good to take it easy sometimes, don't want to burn out!
@@natcatsbookishcafe3799 Aaah, I see, that makes sense. I took the risk and read a few blurbs of later books and it looks like the story still follows Malcolm and Seong Jae :D I hope that the "season 1 finale" still has a satisfying ending on its own, though! ♥️
Whenever I see Tofu I think of the "I love tofu" song where the guy is playing cello (if you haven't seen it, you should look it up!) 😆 Bar soap is one of the things I only buy from small businesses! They're always so much more fun and pretty than general big brand soaps :D Those cows sound like they have some pretty strong opinions! 🐮 I can tell you for a fact that trying to get a job as a librarian is extremely incredibly difficult. There are way more people with library degrees than there are open positions so getting work in a library is nigh-impossible currently (source: one of my best friends has a masters in library sciences).
I've never seen someone hold a cello like a guitar before lol, but that was a fun video!! I learned more about how hard it is to be a librarian from Bookish Realm who unfortunately isn't doing video's on that channel anymore, but now I be judging authors who put characters as librarians because is a "fun, cozy, quirky" job for their characters to have
It looks like you had so many good reads across a lot of different genres, awesome! I need to read more Cat Sebastian! I've read 4 and my library has all of her stuff, I've just been distracted by other books 😭 Had a super slow start to August, then in the last 2 weeks read all of Wayfarers and Heartstopper 😅 Favorite book of the month is probably Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet, and least favorite would be the Nick & Charlie novella 😄 Look forward to your Orillium reads!
I always say I'll read an authors backlist and then get distracted with other authors or new authors, its just a reader thing I guess lol. The novella was my least favorite of the heartstopper series as well, left me rather disappointed compared to the graphic novels.
@@natcatsbookishcafe3799 Yeah, it really wasn't it, and pretty much solidified me on not wanting to read any of Oseman's other book books. It also read like my own writing from college, which was incredibly uncanny, and I did not like that feeling of "I know I did not write this. And yet it reads exactly like something I would've written." 😂
@@Lan.. I too don't see myself reading any of Oseman's books other than Heartstopper. But who knows, I might have one or two on my TBR that comes up at some point. If Oseman got famous off her writing, then maybe so can you!!
@@natcatsbookishcafe3799 I know her book Loveless is recommended all the time in terms of ace rep so maaaybe one day I'll read that but idk 🤷 I did get a decent confidence boost knowing writing like mine is good enough to be published! I'm pretty happy just writing as a hobby and posting my fanfiction annonymously, though 😊
Haven't read the book but also don't plan to, so watched this while I cleaned up my office ❤ Loved all the cat content- Tofu playing with ice is so cute and Loki is gonna rip that screen one day 😅 The lizard tail was actually kinda cool to see, glad you were able to save the little guy! Sarai really sounds like Lazlo's... dream girl 🤣🤣🤣
Love you not knowing what a bat boy is. :) It's literally the person who picks up the bats after someone hits the ball and runs and they keep them organized in the dugout. So funny! :)
Me: Oh orillium prompts, fun! Wait, theres 15 of them?! Yeah, I wouldn't tbr game this month, either! 😂 You have a lot of good books, I believe that you will be able to read most if not all of them! The variety of short/medium/anthologies/comics I think is a good idea for something like this :D Also, I 100% don't think you cheated on the bat prompt- if it wasn't specified, you can choose whichever definition you want hahaha I read the alchemist for the first time a few weeks ago! I had issues with the way women and romani were characterized in the book, but i also feel like i shouldntve been surprised about that :P It was an okay read for me. Hope you enjoy your re-read of it! 😊
I am not big on anthologies either, but when I saw Never Whistle At Night, I immediately grabbed it. I am saving it for either October or November, but it has definitely been calling to me. I hope your reads go well. Have a wonderful month.
Look, sometimes TBR stands for "Thought 'Bout Reading" 😂 Several hours later edit: I finished reading Long Way to A Small, Angry Planet and it was as good as everyone says it is!! Continuing the series tomorrow! ❤
I LOVED Desperate Measures!!!! It has a few threesome scenes in it. I didn’t like The Unhoneymooners, though. It was quite boring, I thought. It could have been YA. I have Fence on my bookshelf! Has the series finished yet?
Yay surprise video! 🎉 You always have so many books I've never heard of, which I LOVE! Haven't read any you hauled but I do have Our Missing Hearts on my TBR, too, and read a different book by Sherman Alexie in high school which was good from what I remember. Honestly I'm pretty with you regarding romance/fantasy romance. If the main characters involved in the romance are straight/cis I don't read it. I spent the first many years of my life only reading those types of stories, I'm good lol. Plus physical descriptions of cis feminine bodies being sexy/attractive make me really uncomfortable because I don't like my own feminine body being perceived that way. Which unfortunately means a lot of the time I also don't read strictly F/F romances- if the romance isn't the main plot I can read it just fine because there's less time spent ogogling hahaha But if it's not in book form (think podcast/comic/video game/movie/tv show) it's also fine for me, idk why 😅 There's already so many books and genres out there to read, I am perfectly content and have no fomo on not reading straight/cis romances 😂
@@Lan.. glad you enjoyed the video ❤️. I never feel guilty not reading a hetero book since I figure the author is getting plenty of attention from other people 🤷🏻♀️
Wake up babe, new natcat video! I hope that the short stories/novellas work out for you this time around 🤞 The weather has definitely started to feel like fall where I'm at but I refuse to acknowledge it, still summer in my mind!
Weather here is still giving summer, but we have a thunderstorm rolling in as I write this so I'm taking the cozy vibes where I can get them lol. I hope the short stories go well to!
ahhh I loved this book so much and have been looking for people making vlogs/videos on it so i can relive the experience with them :) there aren't many vids out right now so i'm super glad to get into yours (and its an hour! we're being spoiled)
I feel like a lot of people this year had a slower July (me included!). I also read Something Wild & Wonderful, but I kinda wished there was more hiking content in it 😂 It was the first time I'd heard of the PCT and I wanted to learn more lol Tried reading How You Get the Girl recently- was liking it until the fake dating came up. Felt really bad but I don't like the trope & didn't want to read it anymore 😢 So Love & Other Disasters is def my favorite of Anita Kelly's. My favorite book of July was probably Little Fires Everywhere. That is one intense story! Least favorite was this random dinosaur shifter romance? Yeah, idk why I read it, either 😅
LOL Dinosaur shifter sounds interesting...😅. I don't think I've read too much fake dating, its not my favorite trope, but its also not a turn off...I honestly forgot that book was fake dating, shows you how much I think about tropes lol. I watched the show for Little Fires Everywhere and loved it!
I think I have series for thriller for next it’s a duality The 21guns series by John LeMay The books are as follows 1. The noted Desperado pancho dumez . 2.once upon a time in fort sumner
I love this video. Taking time to reset and recharge is something I'm working on learning more about as well. I love that you're listening to you (and your therapist) ;)
