The fact that Bushiroad placed one of the 2 big offenders into Standard as new Stride decksets is pretty surprising. But tbf, Luard seemed to be kinda the fair one of the bunch in G before they made him too strong in V
This ost is very lethal because dominate had the the effect of attcking the rear guards of the opponents to they're vanguard, neither else can surpass this effect from shiranui Oboro, Shiranui Zanki and so on

Honestly it’s hilarious how Nubatama was basically nonexistent as a competent deck before Dominate happened and then after V came out it fell off the face of the earth again except that one guy who could discard your opponents Entire hand because lol and memes. It was only ever fun and viable for like 3 sets out of this games ten year life span.

I think hilarious, how pre-Shiranui Nubatama became a meme answer to Vanguard ZERO's downright tyrannical month of December 2021, where the only 2 decks able to run around in Rank Fight were Overlord X & Big Bang Knuckle Buster decks. The month was so horrendous, Bushiroad actually stepped in to errata their effects. That was the first time it was done in 20 months after the game's release.
I’d argue that Nubatama coming out with more support in Link Joker era helped it gain relevance again. And in the G era before Dominate they had pretty good stride units in Reckless Rampage like Atago Lord and Tsukumorikan that nuked your opponent’s hand along with the good ability Afterimage that made sure you had decent defence at the end of every turn. But Dominate definitely was the mechanic for Nubatama that made the clan from obscurity to absolutely busted.
