Yeah I loved the RID 2001 toys. Articulation and likeness to the series made me very happy. The bulkiness and clunkiness of the toys and artistic design reminded me of the Beast Wars show and toys.
I had the 2004 Sideburn with the black & red deco (same mold as 2001) and found his asymmetricalness very irritating. But he did have a lot of articulation and his alt mode was outstanding. This new one though is kinda dog water. Great review/comparison though.
Saw the original sealed in a toy shop, but he was way out of my budget... Pretty sure the designers still worked something out with Dodge for that GI Joe crossover Soundwave, so it's not like the companies aren't talking to each other. A part of me still wishes they found a way to lead off with a Universe Shadow Striker deco on a licensed Dodge mold, or just started with Side Burn. Or even just slapped the Cyberverse head and colors onto the Viper, that would have been crazy. At least both of the head sculpts rule on this mold (imo)
@@TMan978 You know, the Shockwave figures don't look as accurate or have the same exact features as the one in the show, so I can understand the slight disappointment.
The main thing that disappoints me with this figure, I can't remember what I say in this video but the loose joints. The aesthetics aren't that much of a problem for me
Great review TMan978!!! My worst gripe with Sideburn is that his flame deco does not stand out as prominently as his original figure. lol Keep on being amazing.
Great video. Product is too overcomplicated and expensive. WWE slam mobile is cheaper, less complex, and great for background destruction or styling transport.
Here's all I can tell you right now. No WWE vehicle can dream of comparing with this one. They are nowhere near the plastic quality, as far as I know they don't have lights and sound and the paint.... What paint. They might be good for a quick picture or whatever
The divider in the nose and the extra nose lets you change the year of the car. The base is for a 1968, the divider is for 1969 only and the second nose is for the 1971. Same with the taillights. The round set is for 1968, the other ones are for '69 and '70. This is for if you have to ask.
Thanks for the review. Hasbro's increasing greed is on show here. Which Bumblebee figure is that at 6:10? Is it a Masterpiece? Third party? Haven't seen it before. Everyone and their grandmother complained about differing shades of yellow on Earthrise Sunstreaker. Didn't bother me personally. But the sunflower-to-lemon-switches on this Bumbler's belly look really prominent.
This might be overdramatic, but I fuckin' love you dude. I was having balancing issues with this figure and it was really annoying me because I heard nothing but good things. Clicked on this review and thank you for showing how far his foot can actually move! I didn't know the armour on the foot was bendy and could move further! Now, I can pose him how I want and he balances like a charm!
As long as it's not negative over dramatics, I'm good. One of the reasons I started my channel is seeing other reviewers lackluster articulation segments so stick with me and pray I buy the fig you wanna see.....bars.
My take - he don't need 3rd mode. It's most useless altmode in triple changers. It would be better if HasTak finished the tank mode, and gave him accessories, because this "leader class" has exactly 0. Handweapon, maybe a gun similar to his G1 altmode, SOME blast effects.... Hasbro nowadays is a lazy, greedy company. They can put more with this toy (remember they put RotB Primes axe into Primal box lmao) and make better work with him. I live in Eastern Europe and my wife was lucky enough to order it for $40 with shipping from Asia. In any other case I would not buy it for more than this price.
I don't think they're lazy. They're just greedy now. It's unfortunately blatantly obvious. With all these new redo characters, when I pull out the originals, it makes you realize that the budget seemed limitless. It seemed like, as long as it can fit inside of the box, they weren't restricted. There was a time where one deluxe could have multiple accessories that had mechanized gimmicks and be packaged in with instructions, product catalog, comic and more.
I think the body for this Shockwave is the arms of Scrap Iron. It may be his torso underneath vest. The lower torso and legs/boots are retro Duke I think. The legs are a definite upgrade. I wonder if you pull the belt down if it isn’t attached that will give more crunch possibility. I haven’t played around with Shockwave for a month and Night Force along with Tiger Force and Marauders are put up till I find shelf space. I like the sub teams and will keep getting them. Might have to have a rotation for display of them. Currently Python Patrol is riding on two Fortnite boats with some of those Trubble Bubbles flying around them. Nightforce I have an idea to display, copying Shooting the Galaxy’s zombie shots. I may wait for Falcon and Quarrel. I need to find some masked options for the team members that didn’t come with masks. Marauders need an armored vehicle to display with. I’ll figure that out down the road. Anyway. It is a cool set. I bought two. I wanted the extra cycle. I do wonder if the mid sized vehicles like VAMP or future ones that will come like Skyhawk will get sub team repaints, more than just the bikes and ATVs. Part of me can see a Crimson Guard Stinger Jeep or Tiger Force VAMP being made for Target. They have got into the $50-60 price range for Sub Teams. Will they do $100 price points? It’s a curiosity.
There's secret hidden mode in him you can change. You ever wan a gun Megatron? You can. He can change into gun & you can carry him around in his gun just like the other Megatrons from the past. Alot of Megatrons are not gun forms they're stuck to Tanks, helicopters, jets, Tyrannosaurus, alligator, dragon, mutated wolf, citadel, optimal, trucks, sometimes media devices, I can't name few more. The gun Megatron is going be rare than standard megatrons they have now. Be assure this gun mode is not Walter p. It's laser gun. If it were Walter p. Hasbro may have pay the gun laws company just use Walter p. Gun forms intergrated their Megatron figures. & can't have kid walking around with Megatron as gun because laws of guns. & cops may accidentally end up killing an innocent kid if they use Megatron as gun. So that's no no. Laser gun is fine, a Walter p is not.
I know about the gun mode but someone else has already done that video. Nobody in their right mind would think that it's a real gun. Thank you for watching
