One of my favorite song done by a local assembly Mississippi Blvd. Christian Chuch. Their rendition is probably one of the greatest arrangements of this song since Kathy Taylor Brown. Big ups to Leo Davis and Angie Holmes. Yall make Memphis look outstanding.
Who ever take this song and put into a political gimmick should be a shame of themselves. When Andrae wrote and produce this song, there was and is no racism attach to it . He was a man for all people , Black white, brown, yellow, Asian, Hispanic plus !!!! Every man.
This interview was in 2017 & servanthood is even lower now! The point about just putting bodies in to fill a position is so prevalent now with the great resignation. Companies & corporations must look at how the average laborer is being treated when no one is looking.
This is so powerful to hear the history of this icon and what and awesome mother recognizing the gifting of her son’ and a father who embraced him with the love and support. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to hear and be transformed and spiritually uplifted
I've been a Richard Smallwood fan since the early 80's. My daily meditation alway includes a Smallwood song..Lord you my everything, Hold on, Total Praise, I love the Lord ...I can go on and on..my only wish is some day to see Vision in concert..many blessing and much love
This interview was very informative and give us a deeper understanding of what's behind Richard Smallwood's music. His music is food for the soul oh, I believe he is truly anointed by God to be a minister of music.

Thank you Mr. Davis!!! I just discovered your channel here. This was inspiring to me. I'm a 60 year old music student who is in school to finally be able to write and produce music (which is my calling) like these guys and others you have interviewed on your channel.

I don’t know how or where I stumbled upon this interview, but what a treasure it is. Thank you, Dr. Leo, for interviewing Dr. Thomas. And thank you, Dr. Thomas, for sharing so openly and candidly about your life’s work through music. <3 Every choral musician should watch/listen to this, so I’ll share it to my wall to help the cause. <3
This was just outstanding, gentlemen. Thank you so much, Dr. Davis, for bringing us such an inspiring, and educational forum here. To hear Dr. Waddles mention the composition, "Canticle for the Hungry Angels,' by Dr. Robert A. Harris, meant a lot to me, because I sat with him in his office, at Northwestern, when he was writing it.🤗 Much continued success, to each one of you!
