I would love to have the program. Are there any more out there? Congratulations finding such a nice copy. Are you the one who just bought one at auction?
@@TheFranktel the person on my thumbnail that’s kicking is definitely Bruce Lee. Some people are not used to seeing Bruce Lee in photos prior to Enter The Dragon in 1973.
@@TheFranktel its 💯 percent Bruce Lee. Take a look at Steve Kerridge’s book “Bruce Lee The Reg Smith Connection” which takes place in October, 1969 during the Marlowe Tour. You’ll see better shots of Bruce Lee’s face with the same exact haircut and clothing on. All of the true Bruce Lee fans know that’s him.. it’s totally fine if you refuse to believe it
Why did Raymond Chow commit the crime of such a dismal treatment on Bruce's last work? I suppose for him, Bruce was just a golden goose that was too good to be true, and no more. Chow appeared to have no respect for Bruce's work other than the money that they brought in. It's very telling that his initial reaction was not calling an ambulance. Chow's gut reaction was not to save a friend's life but to cause as little damage as possible to himself financially. What do you think?
I read in one of your comments that you said that Bruce was doing drugs. I know you won't say that unless you have verifiable proof. What's that proof? Thanks.
@@jkdart1980 I read it recently but don't remember in which program. Will let you know when I happen on it. I know you won't make a statement unless you have proof. Hence the question. I am keeping an open mind. Just want to get at the truth. Why do you want to know my name? Give me a reason. It's not Bruce though.
@@jkdart1980 I don't see the significance of knowing the name of just an average Joe. No offense, but I haven't paid much attention to your name either. I enjoy the contents of your programs regardless. That's what counts. I am using this name for some other proper purpose which requires anonymity. You will have to excuse me for not providing my real name.
In response to your question on where you said Bruce was on drugs, I found your comment on Bruce's drug use in your June 12, 2024 program entitled "Bruce Lee and Linda Emery....." As I said, I am interested in a fair treatment on any topic, and you have been providing them. Unlike the others, you must have good evidence to support your position, other than just these letters and comments from people who were never personally privy to what went on at the time. Bruce said so himself, he was no saint. He was a rascal, and that is part of his allure. I only asked that he be treated fairly, as he obviously can't defend himself now. I would welcome your comments. Looking forward to be convinced by some verifiable evidence. Thanks.
Bruce was a bright guy to have come up with and prepared such an agreement at 23. It must have been more difficult to have access to such templates in 1963.
This photo dispels the overwhelming propaganda spewed by the mainland Chinese establishment that Bruce associated with the mainland regime. The background reads National Celebration Evening Gala in proper Chinese characters, not the "handicapped" characters ie. characters with parts amputated. This was a 1963 celebration of the 52nd anniversary of the formation of the Republic of China on October 10, 1911.
@@KOFAKEDEM thanks and yes I had this translated to exactly what you said and i have already include the date of October 10, 1963 as National Day Gala in the book
@@jkdart1980 Like you, I am only interested in the truth, be it political and otherwise, just like Bruce. The truth often requires meticulous examination. By the way, someone did point out, and I agree, that the handwriting in the alleged "drug letters" looks dissimilar to Bruce's earlier handwriting. No reputable handwriting expert has given an opinion. Perhaps it's something that you should look into? Thank you.
@@jkdart1980 Some of his "supporters'" programs do have parts of these letters reproduced quite legibly to the point that they could be compared to his earlier handwriting.
Thanks. This is cool information. Is Hayward a separate city, or is it considered part of Oakland? Do you know how long the Hayward school was open for?
@@squatch545 thanks for watching. Hayward is a separate city from Oakland but part of the same county. Hayward to Oakland is about 20 minutes on the same freeway 880. I’m not sure how long the school stayed open but my guess is that it didn’t make it into 1965.
Very interesting video. Do you know if there were any photos taken of the Broadway school? It would be great to see where Bruce had the fight with Wong Jak Man. 🙏🐉
Forgot to mention the autograph also had dragon written at the bottom of his last name in Chinese!! Or something to it!! Could mean something else!!! POSSIBLY LEE!! in Chinese Cantonese.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I visit Chinatown from time to time to see Bruce Lee's former school location on College Street. Last time I was there, I had lunch at the Golden Dragon. I didn’t know it was one of Bruce Lee’s favorite restaurants! When I walk through Chinatown, I often see bakeries and restaurants that have been around for more than 60 years. It makes me wonder if Bruce Lee visited those places when he was there. Thanks again for the video!
@@wilsonip1440 thanks for watching! I’m sure there was some Chinese dessert place that Bruce Lee liked! It’s good to see historical places that Bruce Lee once visited, still there.
It is very rare that Bruce gets the year wrong on all the pages. It could be that he makes a mistake in one and writes 1961 instead of 1960. But in all of them? That has to be investigated.
@@Retro_Slinger it’s definitely a mistake for sure…. I think it’s possible he had 1961 on his mind for some reason, maybe an event or something he was looking forward to and wrote that instead of 1960. He was still fairly new to this country even though he was born here.
Another great video. I love these little snippets you find of Bruce Lee… they bring him alive again without the distraction of the publicity and rumours that would hound him after he became a star.
I don't have a channel. Just a person interested in the truth. I noticed some channels, such as the Kxxg Fx Gxnxxs, which have made extensive shows on Bruce's supposed drug habit in the last few years of his life. I am not saying that this topic could not be discussed, but I couldn't see how these discussions were in any perspective other than discrediting Bruce as a person. Certainly, these shows do not have concerns for Bruce's wellbeing or health in mind, because if those were the intentions, they are some fifty-one years too late.
There’s lots of love for Bruce out there… and sadly, lots of hate. I have to say, though, that the KFG is an excellent source for understanding the real Bruce Lee. If you take a look at some of KFG’s other posts (esp the one about the drugs letters), you’ll see he loves Bruce, respects him hugely but is also objective enough to acknowledge Bruce’s flaws.
@@stejcool I watched one of his shows on the drug letters. Apparently, there are enough materials to make four shows. Afterwards, I just don't get what message he was trying to convey. Was he trying to alert young people to the harmful effects of drugs? Was he showing his concerns for Bruce's wellbeing and health some fifty-one years after his death? Or was he showing that Bruce was a drug addict and making money doing it? Bruce said so himself that he was no saint. We know he had flaws. I am not a blind worshipper of anyone, but still want to know the purpose of showing that he has flaws, without more, is to serve what end? That's a strange way to show someone already departed, someone who can no longer defend himself from allegations against him, that you love him.
@@KOFAKEDEM I think all topics regarding Bruce Lee should be discussed. As for my channel, I tend to do things a little differently. I prefer to bring new information to the table by doing extensive research and uncovering Bruce Lee related history that has been unsolved for the last 50 to 60 years… this is something new and separates my channel from the rest of the mainstream channels. Although it’s good to discuss topics such as the drug letters, it’s already out in the public.
@@KOFAKEDEM I take your point… it’s bizarre that people still pore over Bruce’s passing and the possible causes. It serves no real purpose. I’m guilty of it too: I can only put it down to the fact that Bruce’s achievements and legend are so great that it is only human to try and understand what could possibly have caused his passing. I’m still not sure what parts of the interest are down to grief and/or morbid curiosity! Whichever it is, you’re right: Bruce should be remembered and celebrated for his achievements in life rather than what happened on that day in July 73.
@@jkdart1980 I commend you for your efforts. You are attempting to recreate a lost "reality" by showing the actual artifacts as you read out their contents and make reasonable interpretations of them. As regards the drug letters, my view remains that presenting a one-sided discussion on some letters, together with someone who attests to the authenticity and his own interpretations of these letters, when the writer could no longer respond to them, is unfair. It's very different to the interpretation of dates of some events being unclear or confusing. That doesn't have any connotations on the character of a person. Discussions of a person's alleged drug habits and the surrounding circumstances in which the alleged habits took place without any opposing views from a credible witness, are by themselves an affront to the sanctity of that person. This approach alone gives me the distinct impression that they are demeaning Bruce. It is the treatment and approach, not the actual discussions on the topic of Bruce's alleged drug use, which are problematic and offensive.
I'm glad you've done a review on this book josh. I was in two minds, weither to get this. Know I've seen your review, its worth getting for sure, great info on the letters. Over all a very nice book. Great video mate 👍👌
@@sam1837 thanks and glad you liked the review! I try my best to do the best reviews and provide a very detailed and accurate take on these books! Thanks 🙏
Jesse Glover would have been 23 in 1959 when he met Bruce. So I can believe he was 180 lbs. What was Jesse taking at Edison Technical School at that age?
@@squatch545 you know I’m not sure what he was taking.. maybe make up credits in general Ed ? He should’ve been in college or finished college by that age.. I do know that Jesse lived in Southern California before he moved to Seattle and was involved with Street gangs but eventually got out of that lifestyle and into martial arts in Seattle.
Hmm....yeah, I don't know what's going on with all the mix-ups in the dates and time lines. That is very strange. Could it be Bruce is just writing things down months after the fact as if they just happened? Maybe Bruce doesn't yet understand English written calendar dates? I have no idea what's going on. Have you tried asking Doug Palmer if he has any idea?
@@squatch545 thanks for bringing that up and nice to hear from you! I think you might be right actually! I have no contact with Doug that’s the thing…. I’d love to ask. But what you said about Bruce not knowing English well is totally true as we can see in his journals as things aren’t totally adding up. It must have been hard for a young 18 year old being all alone in a new country as he tried to learn the culture, language and how to read people’s characteristics as he was just getting by. Bruce was often picked on in Seattle for being Chinese and having trouble pronouncing his R’s but some ended up learning the hard way with a good Gung Fu lesson!
Woah.... That's incredible. Im was there in San Jose from 1976 to 2001. I've been to the San Jose Auditorium many times for Rock concerts back in the 80's and early 90's.
I’ve still got my copy sealed. I got it off Amazon for about £20. Bargain! The limited editions are not out until September. I’ll be doing a review later September - early October
Cool. For this book it’s one of those type that I put on the book shelf after reading and wouldn’t display it but it’s a very nice read. I don’t think the limited edition prices are worth it by far. Very much overpriced for little extras that are worth 10£. With the extra paid for the limited edition that could go towards Steve K’s new book.
@@jkdart1980 It might be a better deal for us in the UK. I wanted to get my hands on Linda's signature. The binding on the collector's edition book is black cloth with coloured foils and gold page edging. I'll let you know if I think it was worth the money when I do my unboxing video. Shipping of the sets is from September into October. So I don't understand why people are upset.
@@30plusfitnesstv I would think the UK should have a better price being that Genesis is located there! I hear you.. another reason I passed on the limited book is I already have two Linda autographs, one which came with my Bruce Lee signed credit card receipt and it was a certificate signed by Linda as proof that the signed receipt is a genuine Bruce Lee autograph. I’ve also already got 6 Shannon autographs. If the book is scheduled for release later this year, the buyers shouldn’t be upset. Maybe they are seeing people with the standard copy.
Don't get mainland Chinese to translate artifacts that were obviously written with Hong Kong nuisances in mind back in those days. The mainland Chinese read Chinese differently. What they write is not considered real Chinese. The translations of proper names will come out weird. They use their own English spelling. That's something Bruce would have hated. Written in goodwill. Ignore at your own risk.
