Hey guys, this channel focuses on Board Game and Trading Card Game content in all forms. A lot of what I've posted is Unboxing videos but it will also include rules explanations and reviews. Hope you enjoy!
I pulled this out of a pack I opened. She looked good but I don’t word with red or green usually so I didn’t have any immediate ideas how to make this a deck. I’ll be taking some inspo from this, it looks really fun
This deck originally was a slicer tech that I was trying to make casual, I switched face commanders and then swapped cards as I played to try and make it slower and more casual (and also to get some of the slicer specific support out) So i can tell you it is possible haha, Good luck with your friends!
I really tried to keep only the creatures with good utility for the commander. I've been considering blood moon for a bit of time now but I think it's just too mean for casual groups.
Be very careful with how your equipment is worded. Diamond pick gives the treasure generation text to Alexios which you dont control at the time As opposed to goldvein pick which has the text itself that you do control at the time gives you the treasure when he connects under an opponents control
Ya exactly anything that says "Whenever" with quotations will give that effect to whoever is controlling it at that time of the "Whenever" Trigger taking effect
I built a very similar decklist but some reccomended cards from my experience you could add would be spawnsire of ulamog, ashnods altar, pitiless plunderer and fecundity since spawnsire is infinite etb/ltb with ashnods, pitiless, or either of your token doublers, it just pairs with azlask so nicely.
It’s not bad. The biggest issue I’ve noticed - you have so much mana ramp, but only like 1 win con. (displaced dinosaur) with my deck, I added Primal Vigor (yes helps opponents, but hopefully me more) then every damage multiplier I could. I also added Strionic Resonator, and Roaming throne. With the right setup you can insta kill all opponents in a turn with just meteorites. I’ve realized this deck is hard to win with sadly from what I’ve noticed, since I’m always #1 target haha Plus if you have it, Urza’s Saga for Amulet of Vigor is amazing. If you get Amulet + Aggravated Assault you’ll win. Just some tips from my experience.
That is an interesting diagnosis haha, I don't think i've ever won with displaced dinos, I typically win with Meteorite damage. I also purposely do not push the cards in the decks I build, they end up not feeling friendly and in turn aren't entertaining to play. As far as Urza's Saga, I don't have any extra copies laying around so it didn't get a place in the deck.
Very cool build. Although, even with taking out Jeweled Lotus and City of Traitors (thinking of replacing it with Sandstone Needles for budget consideration), this deck is still very much high power casual. Do you find that Powerbalance hits enough to be worth it? The decks curve is pretty low. I guess getting 3 chances to hit vs 1 in EDH over constructed makes it worthwhile?
Cool Introduction to this deck :) Nightmare Muse‘s tokens don‘t mill by attacking and blocking though, they straight up exile two from EVERY opponents libraries, making it even better.
I know you mentioned the play style at the end but how do you intend on piloting the deck to avoid hard focusing yourself? Love the deck too! Very powerful
Often times there isn't much you can do when the table decides to hard focus you. The beauty of this deck, however, is that it recovers fairly quickly.
As it turns out the spawn and scion tokens provide a great deal of ramp, as far as haste enablers, I personally haven't felt the need to add any thus far.
One minor correction, panharmonicon doesn't double up copies made by reflections of littjara, since reflections' ability isn't an "enters the battlefield" trigger. It will however double unesh's fact or fiction trigger for the token copy when that enters.
Thanks for thise series. This is SO HELPFUL as a life long YuGiOh player playing Magic now lol. I have a question on Deathtouch, does the blocking creature deal any damage to the creature with deathtouch or does deathtouch occur first negating any battle damage given?
Can you use an instant damage card after he declares his blockers but before creature damage is applied? So using an instant 3 damage first, a 1/3 card could mutually defeat a 3/4 blocker?
@tigadirt you can yes, you can even do it after damage is dealt since the damage a creature takes is retained for the remainder of the turn the creature took it. Either way the 1/3 would die as well. Also, keep in mind, wizards of the coasts whacky rules for blocking state that when a creature becomes blocked it remains blocked through the remainder of that combat regardless of what happens to the blocking creature. For instance, if you attacked with a 1/3 and the opponent blocked with a 3/3 and you cast a spell that does 3 damage before the creatures damage each other, the opponents 3/3 would die and your creature would live but it would not assign combat damage to the opponent because it was still considered blocked.
@@UncommonRamen oh sweet, thanks this is one heck of a game to get ones head around with how many combinations there seem to be. Probably one of those more than atoms in the known universe or at least grains of sand thing. Always so cool to get a direct reply from a channel creator!
i had a tatsunari deck, budget thats very important lol. I havent play it recently, wasnt powerful but fun and it did win from time to time i need to rearm it but i just need a few cards that are cheap and dont have. Plus my meta have been getting a bit powerful and it just cant compete but i will make it again.
With the amount of product WotC releases each year, especially premium sets, the power creep became inevitable because they made powerful cards available to everyone. I support your venture in finding your upgrades and hope it works out!
@@UncommonRamen yea i play with old cards or super cheap ones. the expensive ones i have are from old times lol. But yea the power is ridiculous and u just cant compete, you just have to make a deck to bother and mess around the table, to cause mayhem and do some dmg. tatsunari is like that draining life slowly. even if you lose at least you cause a impact in the game.
Great video! I recently made a Calamity deck and i'm having tons of fun with it. One thing i would note that wasn't obvious to me while building the deck, is that the tokens that Calamity make don't have haste, so extra combate phases like great train heist feel kind of bad since you untap the tokens but they can't attack. I ended just using seize the day for extra combat and that's it. Also another couple of cards that i ended using in the deck that were quite good were Imposing grandeur and Visions of ruin, thanks to the high cmc of the commander those cards end shining quite a bit.
