probably when the med was dry, north africa wasn't desert. in geological time, a blink of an eye, but our perspective was always the sahara.

whats funny is that the Mediterrean sea contains amost the same amount of water than you have ice on the planet and did the sea levels go down when the it refilled ? No . And yet they expect the sea levels to rise hundres of feet if all the ice melts .

I used to do similar stuff as a kid. Go make a mud dam, turn on the hose, try to hold back the water. Fun times.
