The fact Lithuania got more twelves from tele than Iceland in 2021 changes how many people including me thought the 12’s would go in a 2020 televote (3 nations I thought would give Iceland 12 in 2020 gave Lithuania 12 the next year, including my native U.K., which would render Russia as having the most 12’s followed by the Lithuanians, Icelanders and Greece, due to Cyprus, Bulgaria and Netherlands, and Italy and Serbia too, whilst lots of others, including My well documented faves Armenia, Ukraine, Germany, Azerbaijan and Romania, with Bulgaria, Denmark, Latvia, Sweden and Switzerland also getting 12’s from televote)

This was a good year, I think the top 6 was really strong. For the 7:th place, I think the dudes ruined Norways entry tbh with their weird acts. Otherwise that base song was really good too
well, for some reason, UK would have been higher than Sweden, which is an utter tragedy. But hey, at least Spain would have hosted the contest I'm also gonna show this video to all the brits out there who cry saying they didn't win the Eurovision only because of the war. NO! You compute the average rank from televote and jury vote, bring that into an order and assign the points. The televote ranked Sweden at 13th position, jury at 1st, which gives an average of 7. Czechia has an average rank of 3.5, Switzerland has an average rank of 6, all other countries have a lower one.
I think, there are two main reasons: - Germany participating for a long time, and especially in the early years it collected good points - Germany is always qualified for the final, so it usually always collects some point (although not many in the last few years^^)
Almost, the winner would have been called after Serbia's vote (36/37). Nevertheless, would have still been an exciting voting procedure. I miss the old voting system.
And imagine wathing this live with rules from 2008. I'll be so nervous till the end. Instead we got boring jury votes when almost every country gave them 12 points and then even more boring televote points as I was counting points on my calculator so I knew much earlier that Switzerland won.
I also made a video using the 2015 voting system. Would have been exciting as well! That's also the disadvantage of the current voting system. Using a calculator you know the final result beforehand. I miss the old voting system.
