Great reaction to Kalandra once again! This not one of my favorites of theirs, but that says more about their other stuff than it does about this song, because I do really like it. I just like a lot of their other stuff better. Really looking forward to the Aurora documentaries!
Great tune. Glad you got the sound right. This is a gorgeous song. BTW, they just released a new song yesterday. Their new album "A Frame of Mind" released Sept 13. I would say they are air/wind because of their name, plus, it fits. Katrines vocals fit for wind, IMO. Aurora is space because she can't be from this world plus, her name fits. I think you'll really enjoy their harder stuff.
@Dave-hb7lx Oh god! A new album coming and we aren't even caught up from all we have missed of them before now 😆. This is just an artist that makes you take forever working through their stuff because it's so easy to get hooked on a few songs and play them endlessly. I think wind is a fair assessment, but I think water still works well too! ❤️
@@8equalsd_ofw Their catalog is actually not that vast, even though they've been around a long time. So, you still have time to (at least mostly) catch up.
@@8equalsd_ofw I took Aurora as water maybe because her love and care. And maybe her movements. But she is the fifth element, she can be all of them :) Kalandra music could be a water, definitely agree. I put Katrine's voice as wind because it is kind of light and airy. :)
Now that you've listened to Aurora and Kaladra, listen to Eivor, Falling free, live at the Old Theater in Torshavn ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KNPIdGBn7M4.html and Trodlabundin ( Spellbound ) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wsl-KHGe4Kk.html True Love, live ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R4HgBwvmn-s.htmlsi=R2dEWfKf8z4AvZbY
Totally agree. First listen I was like "Okay, it's one of these end-credit movie scores, that's cute". But now it's actually one of my favorite Ghost songs. Most likely would have hit immediately with the film though.
Don't bother too much with people who go bonkers over your reaction. We all listen to songs differently. I'm a very language-focused person, I love learning new words, looking into the origins (etymology) of words, trying to figure out the best word to use in a given context etc. I just love language. Translate that over to listening to music and I immediately latch onto the lyrics. Other people don't, for them, it's about the vibe, the feeling of the song. Either is fine obviously, it's the amount of enjoyment you get from listening that's important. Having said all that, the lyrics and context of this song are really important for the message it's trying to convey so I would absolutely recommend that you check out the lyrics :) (though at this point you may very well have done so already) Greetings from Sweden.
@Zabiru- I love the explanation you put into your comment. We did go back and read (then re-read) the lyrics, and they do make the song even more enjoyable. We already liked it, just both thought we've heard better songs out of Ghost. They have an extensive discography so the chances of that are quite high across the board. Still, as a band who obviously puts a lot of thought and heart into their work, it's always something to be appreciated. Cheers! P.s. We love your country!
It's late 60s sounding - specifically The Byrds etc - not 80s. And definitely not gothic. These are the sorts of basic errors that are made when 10 year olds make reaction videos.
“Basic errors”? Dude I’m a huge Ghost fan man, cut them some slack. It ain’t that serious man. You make the rest of us Ghost fans look so pretentious and bad. So what they didn’t get it was 60s sounding right away? Who cares.
@@JayWise17 Getting your subject matter completely wrong is a big deal, irrespective of whether it's a big deal in the grand scheme of life. In this case we have someone espousing on the various eras of music and explains how a song has all the hallmarks of a certain era when what they are saying is absolute nonsense. THAT'S a major issue in the world THEY'VE chosen to inhabit. And no, I don't make fans of any specific artist look bad because the TRUTH would be said regardless of the artist. What makes Ghost fans look bad is attempting to shut down fair criticism and attack the person pointing out the TRUTH instead of backing it - which, if you DID, would help the content creator GROW and become more KNOWLEDGEABLE about their subject matter.
Ever heard of constructive criticism? Maybe with a gentler approach? The ad hominem attack was completely unnecessary and makes you look like a giant hypocrite and shallow. What makes Ghost fans look bad is the elitist attitude you’re so proudly clinging to. Go slither back under your rock.
I don't think you know what 60s or goth music sounds like. Go study up kiddo. Ghosts overall vibe tends to lean towards a late 70s - early 80s vibe. Trying to break this one track down enough to disprove our take on it and making it 60s sounding is pretty nit-picky, especially considering that music progressed a lot slower back then, and not as much diversity existed as today. This song also 100% has a Gothic vibe to it. If you can't hear it, maybe you're ear is immature. Don't know what else to say. Your comment sounds like the kind a 14 year old girl who shops at Hot Topic would make.
@@Dingbotz I didn’t know that fair criticism involved implying that the people of this reaction channel are a bunch of 10 year olds who don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. Once again, I’ll go back to, is it really THAT big of a deal? Like seriously man. And you mention it’s not gothic, which I think is comical. I suspect you have a myopic ideology of what gothic music is. There are elements of it in the song for sure. There’s a difference between fair criticism/doing it in a positive way and coming across as a tool who feels the need to shame somebody for having their own interpretation of the song. Comments like yours will push people away, instead of them wanting to learn more and become more knowledgeable about the band. Also, you mention that it’s a MAJOR issue for the world THEY’VE chosen to inhabit. What the hell does that even mean? It’s their world, so piss off and let them go about their life as they see fit. Acting like you know what’s best for everybody is hilarious. I’d also be curious to know your opinions of the band as a whole.
Read the lyrics. It's set in 1969 (sung by papa nihil, so not meant to be recent ghost vibes), looking into the future at the atrocities and fascist regimes (15 years from now.. 1984), but with some hope that by 2024 (55 years from 'now') there might be peace. The irony is that we have the opposite, the conflict has not been solved. So, at least when the bombs go off, we can hold each other for the minute it takes for the world to end. It's quite bittersweet. I hope you read the lyrics and find a new appreciation for this beautiful song.
@thelovecatsss that definitely makes it cooler, although, when it comes to music, I usually don't need a lore book to understand it. To me it makes Ghost really cool for super-fans, but a little harder to approach from the outside. Still love so much of their music tho. Thanks for the comment!
@Surehill Doing math will give you dates, but for a deeper understanding, the lore seems pretty necessary. Knowing who is singing to who is pretty important to me, otherwise it's a faceless love song. My comment was made after reading quite a few other comments as well, many of which seemed almost aggressive because we didn't LOVE the song. No doubt there is meaning to be found in it, but it seems like a lot of the love for it points to the characters involved, and it being in the context of the film. She (my partner) is actually a long time Ghost fan, which is why we chose to react to it, but we approached it more as a song than a part of something else.
@@8equalsd_ofw Yes for sure, knowing the lore makes it much easier to “understand” the song. I totally understand where you are coming from. I will also add that I really liked your reaction. Keep it up. 👍
No hate from me, you are entitled to your opinions. But when the song played at the end of the movie, it had me right from the start. I loved it immediately. And the nuclear bombs fit with the song and it means a lot to me.
Plz Plz Plz react to Auroras full concert at Nidarosdomen. Its an hour long but its worth it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XXVwFvkNTEg.htmlsi=M6qRScWgCS839GNp
Reddit is definitely ridiculous, but I can see why some fans may not exactly love it. From a perspective of the music that is. Perhaps without the deeper connection of the film or lore, it's just not the best Ghost song
I saw the movie opening night. It's mostly footage from their LA stop of the Re Imperatour . But there is also a decent amount of lore as well. I enjoyed it. If you can still find a theater playing it, I would recommend it. Stay after for after the credits!
The lyrics are dark but wholesome, it's honestly perfect for being the credits song cause the title and movie message is essentially to live in the here and now (won't spoil how the story is told) but this song I feel pretty much shines the most at the end to really embrace the whole story/message.
This is meant to be one of papa nihils 3 songs from 1969 that papa 4 didn’t get to do so it fits with Mary on a cross and kiss the go goat everything they are saying 15 years from now is 1984 and 55 years from now is 2024 based off 1969
I do hope you can check out another Norwegian singer named Angelina Jordan. You could check out her latest original "Bad Valentine and use James Thiel version. It is an unreleased song. but he got permission to put it out on you-tube. Aurora is great, but Angelina tops her imo, I subscribed you in hope you will give her a chance in your reactions. Love from Norway!
Hi,I liked it and liked his voice, Still confused about the lyrics i guess it was political but it was okay it was a fun song as well i think that was the best thing about it, also it's not my kind of music but I will check them out, Your reaction yet again made it worth it and I'm so happy you two love Aurora 😊❤also could you do a video reaction to Gary Numan always loved him also his Daughter has released 3 songs from her upcoming album,so big thanks again see you soon bye 😊❤
ohhohh, I felt like a ghost listening to this; a bit dissociated 👀 Howeverish, as a standalone track (as if from a band I don't know) it was kinda cosy 😇
I seen the movie last night and this song playing along the closing credits felt really moving. Im not sure how much I can spoil to you but the lyrics give a decent hint. :)
I saw Bowie back in the seventies as a teenager and never did I think that at at my age of 68 I would be brought to tears listening to Life on Mars, seriously Aurora is a special talent,I would go as far as saying one of the best singer songwriters that has emerged in a very long time, she is the essence of what the art of music should be all about ❤️GENIUS
