Visiting places, villages, towns and cities with open eyes, open ears and open mind. Over the past 20 years, I have travelled extensively through the UK and Europe. My personal circumstances currently restrict me to North Wales & North West UK. Over coming months, I will be getting out & about, exploring - learning about our local area. In time, as circumstances allow, I'd love to take us on journeys further away. I'll be looking out for quirky, unusual, fascinating stories as well as discovering how places & people link together. I'm neither a professional historian nor videographer. It's just what I like doing. I'd be delighted if you'd like to share this journey. Join me on my journey!
Thank you for this very infotmative video. I grew up in Prestatyn in the 1970s and now living in New Zealand. Very nostalgic to hear some of the history.
If CLIFF DALE a boarding house in Llandudno , could talk , it would tell me tales of my mother , who was housed in the attic with her cousins , during holiday seasons ,. She wrote of her happy childhood at her Aunty Cissies , with cousins , who joined her walking throughout the area as children, .beaches and movie theatres , fields of wildflowers and the Pier. Once upon a time , in Wonderland , a Valerie Biddle explored Llundudno to her hearts content , My mother ❤
With the ancient roots of Wales connected with Sabbath keepers and running water, ie springs , connected with the Mikvah , and the great stone possibly connected with Jewish rituals , I'd put my money on that connection , seeing as Welsh language has deep connection to Hebrew , The tin mines were worked by slaves , imported by Rome , some having come from the Levant, possibly those from a sacked Jerusalem Temple ,Hence , the voices of Wales may have origins from Levites , forced to work The mines and perhaps sing to keep alive their faith . Wales is exceptionally blessed , esp, of llandudno. . The genetics of Wales is obvious in their complexions , .interesting about D,Israeli , another connection . Hmm, love this , ❤❤❤would love to see the churches , t y ❤
Well spotted! I will try to add an "easter egg" (A hidden or surprising feature) to many of my videos! There's something similar towards the end of my Rhyl video.....
Did you ever go to Old Colwyn? Its full of history and gorgeous nooks and crannies that one doesnt see from driving through. Get a push bike if you havent got a car. I didnt have one till I was fourty and I kick myself about not getting one sooner
Dont go where everyone else does, Go exploring and find the hidden places. On foot gives a nic e relaxed experience to the viewers , its as if we are there too.@@GTvisits
You keep doing it, out of left field! another great vid, Great views to look at and very informative about things were in front of use but did not see? keep it up man, this is brill!
I got on a bus last Wednesday wanting to go to conwy from Llandudno. I ask the diver "does this bus goes to conwy beach please", he said" yes it goes along the main road". Anway I ended up in colwyn, either it was my accent or his bad hearing 😂
Gotta love public transport in North Wales! What the driver forgot to mention is that the bus on which you was riding DOES go to Conwy.... On Thursdays, Fridays and Mondays....... Just not on Wednesdays when that bus operates on a different route and goes to Colwyn. 🤞🚌🚌🚌🚍🚍
Thankyou for taking the time to comment! At present I don't own a car, so I use public transport (bus and train). This makes getting to Snowdonia expensive and very slow. However, there are some places I am planning to visit. I spent much of my childhood holidays in Snowdonia, Betws y Coed and Llanrwst!
Lovely. I recall walking backwards on the promenade and time reversing. Well done The Tudno Castle is now a Premier Inn and was originally The North western Hotel which stood for over 100 years
I was born in Nant Y Glyn maternity hospital. I lived at Heenan Rd till I was 4 with my parents and Great grandparents. We moved away but visited the grandparents often. My favourite place was beach road. A rather special place for me.
lived and worked the prom, Grand, Hydro, Esplanade, girlfriend in the Imp, lived in West shore too, there is a great live cam from the Min Y Don & copper mine restaurant on the roundabout up by the mine entrances on the prom near the Grand Hotel
