Aloha. I did not know Chad was an Alouette and in fact is listed as part of the 2009 Grey Cup team. I always hated Owens because he was so good against my Als. He seems like a great guy. His fellow Alouette and Hawaiian (actually Samoan) is Junior Ah You, a member of the great team in the 70s. I consider Junior my friend and in fact my wife and I were in Hawaii last December two weeks after the Als won the Grey Cup. I was at that game with my brother. Fantastic. Anyway, while in Oahu we went to visit Junior. I got him on video congratulating Montreal, in French no less. It's on my youtube channel. I am guessing Owens will join Ah You as a member of the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame located at the Polynesian Center in Oahu. You must go there.

Not making playoffs just yet. Detroit Buffalo Ottawa all ahead of Habs all made improvements and none of them made playoffs last season. Not only would they have to pass them, but do you see any of the other four playoff teams falling off that much. I don’t. Hoping for continued progress, but they must improve on special teams to turn some of those close or ot losses into wins and points.
Chris' comments go along the lines of what I've been thinking. How healthy are they going to be this season. The Habs just can't have a main guy in their plans on the shelf for almost a whole season like Dach was . Second, defensively it has to tighten up. Chris didn't mention a specific target the Habs have to strive for as far as cutting down on goals allowed is concerned overall. Forty to fifty fewer goals against would be nice as well as a DECREASE in SOG allowed of roughly 15%. Third: fair point about Laine. He has to want to change himself. Lastly, let me add this: they play in a killer division which includes Florida Panthers defending cup Champs and a Boston team that reloaded in the off-season. Prediction? I do think they will be in the hunt for the playoffs. Maybe they will at times occupy a spot especially early in the season but will miss out in the end.
I am just guessing here , but I think Nilan was referring to the Montreal Canadiens minor league 'depth'. Not every player in pre-season is going to make the team , but wow , what potential 'call-ups' they have sitting in the wings.

Grew up in the 80s loving Knuckles. So happy that he got through some really tough years and cleaned up his life. I wish him all the happiness and hope he can keep up the great interviews for a long time.
It’s bizarre how clueless his statements about the current Sabres are. First of all the trade was for Savoie not Benson. And McLeod plays incredible defense. It was an awesome trade. The Sabres already made great defensive improvements last year and UPL grew into one of the leagues best goalies.
Don’t agree with Giulio. Rourke could have deflected Lalji with the old “It’s a team game…” line, and replied about how well his teammates were playing. It was a 20-second hit that he could and should have handled without bailing. He’s done a fair bit of damage to his image, and needs to take steps to redress it - not just on the field. I used to be a MASSIVE fan and backer because his play and character BOTH were truly outstanding. Now, I’m not so sure. I’d love to see “old Nate” back, but I’m still waiting for it to happen.

As long as Slavkosky is top 6 they won't make the playoffs. The kid chokes his linemates by mostly coughing up the puck... Everyone thinks his 50 points is good but in reality he's 30 points shy for his minutes and 1st PP minutes. Why do you think Caulfield isn't producing? The 30 points he's not getting is costing his linemates 40 to 50 points.
