Just one mans opinion, John Sterling stinks. I haven't heard the radio game for years because of him. Wish him well but glad he's gone. time to move on. Go Yanks.
You guys think the NL has real top teams? Seriously? The Yankees swept the Phillies at home and they’ve choked before there is NO world beater team this year. This is the Yankees year and they have as good a chance as any team. Dodgers have no pitching they might get bumped first round. You guys are ridiculous.
I was basically just saying that I can speak to the AL better than the NL, and the Yankees are the favorites in the AL. I was putting the NL/World Series aside for the convo... that's all. Also from a record standpoint the NL has 4 90+ win teams whereas the AL has 2.
@@andrewrotondi this is the best chance the Yankees have had to win a world series since 2009 act like it. Despite the issues of past years Cashman finally did many things differently and addressed many issues yes the Yankees still tend to not play clean baseball but thats on Boone. October however is a different animal. More excitement and f you attitude less uncertainty and “idk if we can really do this”
The Twins lackluster play in August and September kept the Tigers in it. Twins could have easily wrapped a wild card if they were halfway decent in September
@@siempreli4070 they’re making fun of the Tim Hill acquisition as if Cashman hasn’t brought in a bunch of journeymen and guys who have struggled elsewhere that have come here and turned into really solid pitchers.
@@TheRealSandorClegane Pretty sure we acknowledged that Hill has pitched well, we were joking about his appearance. But what about Santana, Gonzalez, De Los Santos, Tonkin... all those guys were also brought in by Cashman this year and none of them were good.
@@andrewrotondi you think its easy to turn guys other teams dont want into solid pitchers? They’ve been the best in baseball at it if you ask me, and im not even a Cashman fan but give credit where its due
Volpe definitely poor play to try to run home when he did!!!! He either immediately goes- no hesitation or he stays- maybe faking a dash home but staying. Cannot stop wait and then try to go for it. Poor play although he is fast and almost made it anyway.
Gotta agree with scott here, i like seeing them be agressive at the bases, though i see andrews point as well. It will be interesting how agressive they are in a playoff game
Rodon is not a number 2 at best he's a 3 he just gets paid like he's a 2 but with better defense behind him against the Royals he would have given up 2 earned over 6 innings.
@@ShootTheMoonMedia No I'm not. I simply said he isn't as good as Judge and Soto. Judge has 217! And Soto has 179. They're just better hitters but Mookie is a way better defender in my opinion.
My brother and nephews live outside KC so I pay attention to the Royals (to speak more intelligently than the average fan) and they've always played hard (Yankees don't) and now they're fun to watch and winning. If Boone and Cashman are back next season... I'm taking the season off and watching the Royals
The Yankees problems come with bad fundamentals. Terrible defense, terrible base running. Soto dropping multiple balls in Rf, verdugo not getting to a pop up in LF. A almost all the cardinals big innings this series came from blown defensive plays, giving up extra outs and the cardinals taking advantage of those extra outs. Yanks are the worst fundamentals team I can remember.
Kahnle gave up his first run in weeks. He has been very consistent. And that hit was a 99% catch rate that went over Soto’s head. A good defensive player in right and Kahnle is out of that inning without giving up a run. Even though it was hit hard.
Volpe will have improved his batting average by 40-50 points over his rookie year. He's made strides in lots of ways one in particular is he swings for the fences way less than he did last year. His helmet does fly off a lot but last year it was flying off during swings and that doesn't happen much this year I think it's happened once
Miss the days when the Yankees made some kind of effort to sign players who have the personality makeup to play for the Yankees. It was a short period of time but it made a difference.
I would only bring back Gleyber on a one year "prove it" deal. And keep Jazz at 3rd. It'll be easier to fill 2B with a free agent or internal options in 2025 than 3B.
I really don't see the Yankees going deep into October for a myriad of reasons which are too many to list here. As far as Holmes is concerned you can not rely on him at all. Consider without the 10 blown saves Yankees would have a record of 83 and 42 a 20 game swing in WL record.
The Yankees love their (goofy) metrics...unless they get in the way of them following one of their core principles: You always defer to the veterans no matter how bad they've been You think the Trevino thing is bad...wait until Rizzo is at 1B day one
At least with Rizzo it is not like they've found a good solution at 1B. Wells is clearly the best option at C, so it makes it even worse in my opinion.
@@andrewrotondi I agree it's far worse with Wells but I also don't think Rice has gotten much of a fair shot...I mean, didn't they sit him after like 2 starts and then it's been very sporadic since. Nothing you haven't heard before but...the whole leadership and philosophy of this organization needs a reboot (4 or 5 years ago...LOL)
Its a freaking clown show man, why does this team think that consistent playing time is only meant for Soto and Judge as if no other player would benefit from consistent playing time???
The Volpe conversation is one of the issue with Yankees fans, no patience for them to develop when they play but yell like crazy that the front office doesn’t call them up. Lose lose situation
