I couldnt disagree more.... Taus empire is only contained by the Empire of Mankind... Wich only stand because they think the emperor is still here.... As soon as the Empire of Man collapse the Tau Empire gonna expand quickly, integreting all humans who just want better life condition.... And for those that still wich to not mix with Xenos.... by that time the Tau would have triple their size if not more.... Chaos not a problem, Orks wouldnt stand a chance, Eldar probably would have vanished... The 2 threat remain would be Necrons and Ultimatly tyranids.... but Taus tech evolve so fast that with so much ressources it would be over powered by thay time...
I’d imagine shore troopers are deployed to specific areas along with stormtroopers. This would explain why they might have a bit of control over the regular stormtroopers, because they have more experience in that environment. Niamos is a very shore heavy planet so it makes sense to stage a garrison nearby the city because they specialize in coastal situations
Kinda cheating in the “biggest ship” department, since most of it is empty space. Then again, I could see that being useful for escorting smaller ships inside of it and its cloak.
Really, depending on the fantasy, it would either always end this way, result in magic barriers and superweapons holding the modern nation at stalemate at best, or having a few absurdly powerful fantasy characters blitzing armies and slaughtering through the modern forces on the power of anime, all depending on how the author wanted to write it. There is no 'wrong' way to depict magic, but yeah 99% of depictions really would end as shown here.
Honestly, with Roboman Guilliman having the biggest superpower in the known galaxy (which is 'common sense'), in a weird twist of events they may come to an agreement and not murder each other. Maybe even an unlikely alliance. Not saying it will happen, too many bloodthirsty sweaty fanboys would break their no-shower vow if that happens; so they will probably keep the simpleton perma-bloodthirsty lore insrtead of an (even temporary) alliance leading up to some epic event. But realistically? It could happen. Guilliman is more smart than racist. And they are already not completely at each others' throats with the Eldar, so who knows. Maybe they rise up against the crises together, then resume their scheduled warfare later.
it's more correct say he love the idea or concept of humanity because of what the achieved at there height and he wants to recreate that, like having nostalgia for a favorite nick nack. no, the emperor does not care for humanity itself, he for HIS delusional and warped idea of the species. certain pockets of humanity getting to barely exist is just a bonus.
The Tau would need to rely on auxiliary races, which only works so far until their differences start to arise, particularly in times of long peace or if war feels like an impossible task. The Tau race would then find that they NEED to be strong enough on their own and numerically big enough to dominate all others by themselves, but a conquest of the galaxy that won't take many many 10s of thousands of years would see the Tau population more equal rather than dominant. They just don't have the numbers and resources to conquer in the current setting in any amount of real haste. Unless all other major threats (chaos, tyranids and Necrons) cease to be or are too weak to be anything more than a speed bump, AND the imperium collapses with too many smaller kingdoms that fight each other and won't unite enough to pose long war against the Tau, they just won't be able to pull a total galactic domination militarily or economically.
Thats just japan Imagine what would America do if they see that there's a potential of massive oil pouches waiting for some capitalistic hands to be touched
No, this would be a good strategy for ensuring you don’t have another galactic civil war. Making military units hyper focused and not combined arms is a way to keep the revolt risks low.
Marines aren’t necessarily for amphibious assaults. They’re just the best we got for tough jobs. Marines are storm troopers. They’re shock troops meant to hammer into the enemy. Storm troopers in Star Wars ARE the equivalent of our marines.
I actually refuse to believe that they aren't specialised in some way. It kinda makes sense in the sand troopers case that they are needed since deserts are so hostile. But the Shore troopers no I can't belive that. I think they are elite in some way. The armour difference I think lends to this theory. The sand troopers are just wearing slightly modified storm trooper armour but the shore troopers wear an entirely unique uniform.
It seems to me that it's occupation of a system. Marines can & have done "policing actions" after occupation of cities. Usually, that's passed off to the army. As far as command of regular troopers, if the specialized troops are considered experts of that environment & location, it's not completely unheard of for a "billet over rank" situation. The higher billet is in charge or can take over during specific situations.
