Hi! Welcome to my channel where I share all things about my life! I recently bought a double wide and I’m making it into a home so expect some house content mixed with vlogs, lifestyle videos, cooking, sourdough, a little bit of beauty/skincare… well um basically a little bit of everything lol!
I love Granny cam!! I think it is worth the investment to go ahead and do the kitchen counters - esp since you are a content creator. From what I have noticed, a lot of the partnership opportunities are based on "aesthetics." I feel like it is an investment in your brand! But, I am not the one paying for it LOL. :)
The BIGGEST thing I've learned with home ownership: it doesn't have to all get done at once. You will hopefully and presumably live here for a longgggg time. You have time to update in phases. Your home will never feel "done" so don't stress trying to make it perfect in the first year. Definitely have a savings account for emergencies - HVAC repair/replacement is expensive. Plumbing can be expensive. Replacing fridges is expensive. (speaking from personal experience on all these points). Then have a savings account for updates/decor/outside updates that aren't necessary (patio, deck furniture). As for the bathroom specifically, I would recommend just getting whole new vanities in a few years. It'll update that whole bathroom even better than just countertops.
Having the different savings accounts is a great idea! Everything adds up so quickly it’s crazy! At first I was like “let me get everything how I want it so I don’t have to touch it after I live in” but I quickly learned that’s not realistic and just not gonna happen lol! Things will get done as I go and learn the style I want everything too! Also, good idea with the bathrooms! I think I’m leaning toward that too because I think I want two sinks in the master bath and I can’t do that with the cabinet it has in there! I’m gonna keep what I have and just save money for now! Thank you for all of your great ideas and thank you for being here!!
This is the “Economy sucks season” for everyone right now. So we feel just like you do. I’m sorry about your breakup. But better realize the relationship is not going to work b4 the wedding. Congratulations on buying a home. Homeownership is a worthwhile project. Looking forward to more videos. Wishing you well until next time. ❤
Thank you, everything always works out how it is supposed to and a lot of learning and good still came out of it! Thanks for watching and being here! ❤️
Buying this home on your own, fixing it up, budgeting and prioritizing the right things... these are what will teach the best of life's lessons. Like what it means to appreciate the small things, being humble, being grateful, being accountable for everything you do. I wish more young people would learn these things. I dont wish they go through the same hardships you've seen but I'll be honest, hardships are where most of us rise up and come out better human beings. I subscribed and am looking forward to your journey for as long as you choose to share it. 🙂
I agree completely! I’m thankful for everything because good has still come out of it and a lot of learning! Thank you so much for your comment and for being here and supporting me! It means so much! Thank you for subscribing!
🇬🇧 Great decision to keep the wood kitchen, I feel people are leaning towards more traditional homes. You’re doing the most sensible thing possible by living in your home, enjoying it and then deciding what needs to be changed, as and when your budget allows.
Thank you! Yes I agree! Traditional homes feel more cozy, warm, inviting and homey to me! Hoping I can make mine feel that way! Definitely trying to be careful with money! Thanks for being here!
It’s very rewarding! The place is already feeling cozier! I got a lot of painting done today I’m excited to post an update! How long did you both live in yours? That is great you loved it so much!
It’s not real cedar, it’s just paneling made to look like cedar I’m pretty sure but I’m not positive! I will try to show them more in my next video or two and show an up close! Maybe you could tell from that and let me know what to do! I haven’t touched them yet! I will try and remember to update here to let you know when I post the video showing it!
So sorry about the breakup but I’m glad you seem to have found someone new who makes you happy! And congrats on the house that’s super exciting for you especially considering you bought it on your own in this economy that’s amazing! Missed your content
Thank you so much! It was better for both of us at our stages of life right now and a lot of learning came out of it! I am so blessed to have got the opportunity to own a home! Still doesn’t feel real! Thank you for being here and your continued support❤️
Sorry that had some personal heartache, however, you did so before you married which is a blessing or relief now I would imagine. Congratulations on your home purchase, as someone who has done the same on my own, I understand the challenges you are experiencing. Budgeting is imperative irrespective of what you earn and will be the making of you if done right. Better to sacrifice a little now for the ownership of your own home than buy a heap of stuff that you don't need to impress people you don't know. Set your goal to pay your house off in under 10 years, then pay cash for the next one and the next one, become your own magnate! Buy as much furniture etc as you can on FB or second hand and do it up or whatever to suit your decor. Don't decorate with permanent fixtures, use lamps, cushions, vases, photos etc. The shelving in the wardrobes and pantry need to be sturdier, if you can use some thick plywood/chipboard and paint it white and it will hold weight better. If you are putting in ducted heating you may want a duct in your laundry to help dry your clothes and possibly change the cabinetry to have a drying rack underneath eg: www.decorpad.com/search/pull-out-drying-rack#google_vignette . I would paint white or light neutral walls, keep the bathroom white tiles as they do not date and use plants, towels etc to add colour. The cabinets are fine, but if your flooring is timber in the kitchen area, then it may be too much wood but if you put a white bench top on then it may balance that. Overall great job, love the verandah/porch. Enjoy the journey.
Great looking house, are you going to film redoing the house? I want to do board and batten and maybe shiplap in my living room. So if film it I would like to see the process.
Thank you! And yes! I’m working on the house and filming tomorrow! Getting my washer and dryer and painting some more! I will definitely film when I do the board and baton! I have a feeling there will be some trial and error lol!
I'm older, but have gone through a few rounds of boom and bust in my life. All of these skills are going to serve you well in the future no matter what.
I’ve been learning so much through the whole process! I’ve been painting lately because I didn’t want to spend the extra money on a painter and I’m actually getting good at it haha! Very thankful for TikTok and RU-vid tutorials for all this stuff!
I have watched a few here on RU-vid. I am also thinking about painting my countertops. I think the key is to use a goos polyurethane on the top. They make countertop painting kits called Giavoni I think. I think they sell it at Lowe’s I know Amazon has it. Anyway I’m thinking of an all in one paint and a can of polyurethane and I think that will be around $50.00 total. As opposed to around $100.00 or do. I hope this helps.
@@ginajennings1664 I’ve been watching videos already! I’m thinking it will cost around the same! I’m kind of worried about how it will hold up but I’m thinking like you said that the top coat would help! A lot of the videos I’ve seen, people didn’t do one! I think the brand I’ve been looking at is the rustoleum?
@@SarahhhBeth I used cheap o Walmart little bottles of craft acrylic paint and went to town. I bought some boards to pretend paint on. I used plastic bags and turned them inside so the logos wouldn’t rub off. Then I squeezed some paint on a paper plate and used the scrunched up plastic bags like a sponge and went to town like I knew what I was doing. I looked at granite online until I found one I fell in love with. I studied it and pulled out the main colors and “sponged” them on. I also added silver and gold glitter paint to create veins just real granite has. Then when I was happy I put many many layers of clear marine varnish on it. I can’t put super hot stuff on my countertops without a hot pad but I grew up with Formica so I always put something down anyways. We love our unique countertops. It took a lot of hours and many more layers of paint to get the look I wanted but I am still so happy with them over 10 years later.
@@jancrills5650 that is awesome! I wish you could post some pictures on here😭 Do you have any other social media forms you could send some pictures of it to me on? I would love to see! And that’s awesome that it’s held up 10 years!!!
Looks like a great house. I like the windows and porch off the living room. Having a budget is essential and you can see where you want your money to go

I have been waiting for this! I looked on Instagram one day and saw a whole other guy and was like, wait, what did I miss?? 😅 Ahhh, I love that you are baking sourdough bread. I know that shocks you so much. 😂😂😂
Hahaha you were probably like ummmm did i miss a chapter?! And yes I’m so excited about the bread! I tried it once about a year ago and it was a horrible fail lol! Just now getting around to trying again and I tried out the farmhouse on Boone recipe for sandwich bread and I liked it! Still needing to figure out the sweet spot for how much salt and butter I like! I’ve missed you friend! Keep in touch!
@SarahhhBeth I have that recipe, I need to make it! This fall I am. 🙏😅 I was totally like okay, what did I miss and when did this happen. 🤣 I did go snooping your IG account. Hey, I am that friend. 😆 I have missed you too!!!! I'm glad you are doing better! You look so happy. 🫶
First of all, sorry about your break up. However, im so happy for you on your house purchase! I can't wait to see if you post more about home improvements, decor, advice for young homeowners, and such content. Are you still a nail tech? Are you going to do nails from home? You have an opportunity for so much content with your new house. Congrats! 🎉 im excited for you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a kind comment❤️ break ups are always hard but a lot of learning about myself came out of it and I think I needed it! I am still doing nails at a salon! There are a lot of rules to where I wouldn’t be able to do them in my home in my state but that would be cool! I’m excited for all the new content I can create! Thanks for sticking around❤️
