song writing credits for the next album "Taste Of Love": First Time - Jihyo (co-composed by Jade Thirlwall of Little Mix) Scandal - Dahyun Conversation - Sana Baby Blue Love - Nayeon SOS - Dahyun
say something is one of the best songs ever! literally my top b side by them! idk how I survived seeing go hard live! I swear I blacked out everytime mina popped up on the screen 😭
I came here mostly to see your reaction of shot o'clock live and queen live but i hope u will do it later. This is one of my fave album all time together with formula of love and Dreamcatcher dystopia:tree of language.I can't choose one or two songs from this album Up no more Queen Hell in heaven Go hard I can't stop me eng ver Believer Behind the mask Shot o'clock Depend on you
1:24:09 because of the way they filmed this (a one-take performance), they needed to cover and sing in place of Jeongyeon because it would be awkward if they didn't. Jeongyeon sings two choruses for Behind the Mask
song writing credits: Up No More - Jihyo Do What We Like - Sana Bring It Back - Dahyun Queen - Dahyun Handle It - Chaeyoung Say Something - Nayeon another fun fact is Dua Lipa co-composed Behind the Mask
9:52 (correct me if I'm wrong) but it's actually Jeongyeon who would always get the pants, or any long sleeves outfit since she prefers to not show skin. it's actually a surprise for me to see Chaeyoung wear pants for this tour. she does wear pants, but not too often. in this current state of Twice, Jyp now allows Chaeyoung to completely showcase her tattoos unlike before
UP NO MORE by Jihyo, she shared how the sun was setting in purple and the song evoked the feeling of dusk when she was listening to the demo, and that's how she came up with the theme of insomnia, she wanted to reach out to the people who were also struggling like her. There's actually an album commentary of NAYEON, SANA, JIHYO, DAHYUN, and CHAEYOUNG sharing their process of writing the songs from this album. Maybe in your own time you can check it out, I'm sure you'll appreciate the song even more. I'm really glad they end the album with Behind the Mask, it is such an underrated track in the album. Heize wrote the song. Dua Lipa is one of the composers. And yes, Jeongyeon did have lines, during the live performance her part was covered by Sana and Chaeyoung. YOU'RE GOONA LOVE THE NEXT ALBUM. :)))
OMG I was hoping I was reading those lyrics right as I thought it was talking about insomnia. I will check out the commentary for sure. Also, behind the mask is my 2nd favorite track on this album as it is sooo good. Can't wait for the next album!
From what I know, this concept of Monster is entirely proposed by Irene and Seulgi including the reference points, makeup, and styling. If I remember it correctly, there was a theory that she based it on Carmilla, a lesbian vampire erotica novel from 1870s.
From what I've observed, SM doesn't easily let artists contribute to the music. Mostly, I hear about participation of SM artists in the creative direction, perhaps a bit of inputs for the music too but that's about it. Unless the music the artists made was approved by them, they'll never freely let them release songs they want.
Red Velvet has always been creepy! It's so on brand for them😂 There is also an MV for Naughty. The style of dance is called tutting and definitely helps make Naughty more enjoyable! It's just crazy how SM hasn't let them have a comeback after 4 years. We need more ASeul!! 😭
@@carlyzee97 Yea apparently when I searched it, I missed it sorry. Yes we can get a comeback but I need some creative control here. This not good for my health
I love watching people react to the mv and just go wtf the whole time😭😭😭 because the mv is insane! this whole album is amazing and jelly is my fav🩷 the dance style they were doing is called tutting!
The performace you watched for dead man running is actually from a special concert in Mexico where she performs multiple songs from this album. Its definitely worth a watch if you love seulgi!
yes lee mujin is a pretty active singer songwriter, and he has a number of albums and singles. all the (g)i-dle members have been on his show except for shuhua, minnie and miyeon multiple times. i think you'd love all their episodes, since the show focuses pretty heavily on singing performances. i'd also recommend the 100th episode, which is a special with 3 guests including minnie, and collaborations between the guests as well as with the host.
I agree with Carrie. I do think Miyeon often gets overlooked as a vocalist by a lot of people. Maybe it's because Minnie has a unique voice, or perhaps people are too busy praising Miyeon's visuals to notice that she can sing, but she's very underrated. And to be honest, I don't think she's shown us everything she's got yet. It always feels like she's holding back, even on her solo album. Soyeon herself says Miyeon is the best singer on recording days, that she's always reliable, and she likes to gives Miyeon the heavy parts in (G)I-DLE's songs because her voice is strong and steady. We've seen Miyeon cut loose somewhat a few times on Masked Singer, and a few OSTs, so I think whenever she gets a chance to cover songs by big vocalists, she's dead on. If anyone doubts her skills, they should check out her covers on Lee Mujin's Service. A stand out cover she did was Taeyeon's "To: X". I think I saw her do it twice, once with Taeyeon herself. As for the album, I think "Te Amo" probably is my favorite song, although I love Drive and Rose as well. I just think "Te Amo" allows Miyeon to stretch her vocals a bit more. Had it a bit more production it probably could have been the title. Sort off topic, my shuffle played IU's "Love Wins All", Young K's "Nothing But", then finished me off with Miyeon's "Te Amo". It was like it set me up to be sobbing.
Te Amo is really good. IMO it could have been the title track but still glad they promoted it as a b-side. I need 1. another album from Miyeon, 2. More ballads, 3. More song writing from her, 4. More Cho B Di as well
@@KPOPCarrie I think Miyeon is a bit more confident in writing now, so I'm sure we'll get more. I think Yuqi and Minnie have made it their life's mission to help Miyeon be a writer. Now if only Shuhua could get some writing credits. I know it can't be easy writing in a foreign language, but it'd be nice if she could get some royalties like the others are getting.
My favorite album from all Twice solo works. All songs are so so good and thinking how hard she worked to contribute on most of the songs makes me so proud of her. I love all TWICE solo works but this one album is my genre.
If you haven't yet, you should look at Soyeon's promotional skits she did for Windy. In a few she plays three different versions of herself and it's just as weird as it sounds. She plays Soyeon (neutral), Windy (the rebel), and Yeonha (the artist). She straight up was having Mick Foley like conversations with herself, and it's probably one of the first time we got to see Soyeon's weird side. It's the funniest thing ever.
As far as how I would rank the songs, this is my personal ranking (But don't worry each song is amazing for me, some just get a few extra points) 💙🧡 1. Closer 2. Killin' Me Good 3. Don't Wanna Go Back 4. Talkin' About It 5. Nightmare 6. Room 7. Wishing On You
From all the solo projects, ZONE is my favorite album 🥰 Jihyo being my Bias I definitely expected to love this album, but I was still soo blown away by all the songs & her work in this album. Each song had a type of vibe that I particularly love listening to in music, so proud of Jihyo, hope she does a 2nd album soon enough 😍❤️🔥
this album changed my life!! I love how much seulgi was involved in this album and the dark theme of it! and yeah I agree not many people talk about her vocals a lot but she has my top favorite vocals in red velvet, her background vocals in their songs are some of my favorite parts in the song😭 seulgi is such an ace! even if she wasn’t my bias this would still be my top solo album it’s sooo good😭🥺
ZONE. My favorite project outside of TWICE. Shout out to MISAMO, NAYEON, and TZUYUs album coz they were incredible too. Though there's just something in this output Jihyo has worked on that resonates so much in me. What a debut this was. I remember feeling numb yet overwhelmingly satisfied after listening to it for the first time last year. I think it was just right for the two most danceable songs to have been a title track and the other one performed at music shows. We all know Jihyo is a performer. And with this album, she delivered letting us know that she's not just a power vocal. Heads up too, HEIZE has written for TWICE in two songs: Behind the Mask (Eyes Wide Open) Cry For Me (Taste of Love)
TWICE members do not miss when they be release projects. I am excited to explore more albums from these ladies, and I really do hope we get another album from Jihyo because I really love this one. I am gonna keep an eye out for those songs once we get to them! Is Heize in a group or a solo artist?
jihyo has my fav solo album from twice!!! you didn't check the live performance for closer (there is fancams from the concerts in mexico and here in brazil, also she promoted this on music shows along with kmg), you can find a live performance for killin me good in their japan concert from rtb tour, there is a live performance for room from It's Live and also performances from nightmare (she performed nightmare at rtb tour in the concerts that happened before her album was released + the last concerts in Japan for rtb special concerts) not you saying you want jihyo to collab with misamo... have you seen the trailer for their album in twice's japanese channel??? ma'am you don't need jihyo, those three will end us (specially momo)
Anything from Japan automatically gets blocked and music shows for SM and JYP artists for me. MiSaMo is a hazard for everyone alive and breathing. I need Jihyo to be ft over there bc I need her leadership to kick in and reel these ladies in. I am not ready for the comeback. That trailer/teaser took my breath away and I hadn't even heard a song yet. Someone needs to stop them and I was hoping Jihyo could do it.
I agree with you the title track is the least of the songs but really it does not belong on this album because it belongs to JYP he wrote and got producer credit so it has a completely different feel than all the rest which are all Jihyo's songs or choices. She actually made the album in the US, might explain the American rapper and seems a good way not to have outside, lets call it help to be nice. To me the album is about her dating an Idol named Kang Daniel, which ended because he couldn't handle the pressure of dating another Idol, think Talking about it. My two favs are Room and Nightmare because I most relate to those two, imagine the anger you have to want to haunt someone's dreams, I can lol. Since Nayeon and MiSaMo will have released their second albums it's Jihyo's turn so unless Twice releases one first I would expect early next year, although my wish is always that Jeongyeon's album is next (I always dream big). OT9 forever (TIMELESS).
OMG don't get my hope up with a Jeongyeon album. I can't wait for another Jihyo album. I really love this album, the title track is my least favorite and I can see why as it was written and produced by JYP, don't get me wrong not saying he doesn't make great songs bc he does, but I love Jihyo's songs more. I would think she would envision a goal and way she would want her album to sound and all the songs fit together, but the title track to me stands out as it's so different from the other songs.
@@KPOPCarrie Jeongyeon is my bias and I will always hope for her album. She did a cover of a Japanese rock band song at nissan staduim to end the ready to be tour, and she killed it, had the stadium singing with her (she actually cried after, you should check it out), I hope that experience will change her mind cause she was born to sing Rock n Roll and she knows it. Your a reactor so you have to be nice I'm not so I will say that JYP makes real good Kpop songs but Twice, IMO, has always been more than Kpop, and yes even the early bsides were aimed at the US market, so Jihyo doing an R&B album is beyond his capabilities and like Jeongyeon exactly what she knew she was meant to do. OT9 forever (TIMELESS).
Artist write songs for other artist all the time so that's completely normal that Killin' Me Good was given to Jihyo even though Jyp may have worked on it. Also Jihyo is a senior artist so she would have definitely had a say in what the title track is. If she didn't like it then they probably wouldn't have used it. Personally "Killin' Me Good" and "Don't wanna go Back" are my two favorites and I think KMG fits in perfectly with the rest of the album <3 (but that's just my op ofc)
@@carterjones4675 I know as muscicians, especially ones who write pass song to other artist, or maybe even write with certain artist in mind to sing it, I love that. I am in no means saying singing a song written by someone else (or in this case KMG by JYP, is not a good song or not a song for Jihyo.) I was just saying for myself (my opinion) it stands out different from the other songs on the album as they had more of an RnB feel to them and this one was more on the Pop side and it didn't hit me as hard as the other songs. I still like the song, it's just not my favorite on the album. But this is just my opinion, everyone will have different reactions to songs/albums, that's the beauty of music and art in general. I meant no offence in my comment.
@@KPOPCarrie I totally understand and I know you meant no offense lol. Sorry if my comment sounded kinda rude or something😭 I wasn't trying to be. Anyways, loved your reaction lol. At least we can both say we love Don't wanna go back 😂
Literally my AOTY of 2023 ! One of the best studio albums ever for me :) .... Even today I just throw it in a shuffle, to keep it new ! My fav b-sides from here are One Kiss, Wings, Underwater and Iced Coffee
You should watch the other members reacting to Jihyo's Killing Me Good MV when you get a chance. They be making fun of poor Jihyo's acting throughout especially the opening scene where she's on the phone. Actually, it's just mainly Jeongyeon and Nayeon making fun of her. Jihyo being embarrassed and Nayeon making fun of her is pure Twice gold. 🤣🤣🤣
