Gabriel Nichols is a potter who has developed his skills over 40 years in the industry. Producing chimney pots, plant and flower pots, tiles, bricks and specialist commissions, using traditional methods and materials, unchanged for centuries on the site of William Blyth. Located on the North Lincolnshire side of the Humber estuary, this site has produced tiles from wild, unwashed and unrefined alluvial clay since 1840. This locally-sourced is still used for all of the pottery output.
Gabriel’s new studio offers unique workshops, and pottery classes, for those who have never touched clay or seen a wheel, to the more practiced potter wanting to expand upon their skills. The pottery studio also offers wheel space, glazing area and kiln firing. An exclusive range of tableware and one-off pieces, are on display and for sale.
damn i could never imagine putting such a big glob of clay on a wheel. if that accidentally slips while centring i think it could take out a whole civilisation 😭

Gabriel, I love your videos, thanks for sharing. I'm not sure you get round to answering questions like this and really I don't mind if you don't. You're busy! Would standard, bought red earthenware from the likes of Valentines improve its frost resistance with being over-wintered? Does pugging clay undo the frosting by re-aligning the clay particles?
