Did I understand it correctly that your investment into property for example has to be close to half a million because of the state fund etc. Buying an apartment for 150.000€ and get the citizenship with it is not possible?
The CBI (Citizenship By Investment) scheme no longer exists in Montenegro. But you can get Residency (not Citizenship) by buying pretty much any real estate. Currently not price minimum.
I've been checking out different property videos and this seems to be your most recent. I'm an Aussie who has been in the UK for 20 years. It's time to move on. Montenegro is one of 3 places I'm considering. I'm doing a recce in September and I'll be deciding by November and making the move by early '25 at the latest. Would you suggest renting for a year first or just jumping in head first to the property market. What area would provide a soft landing for a newby in her 50's, who wants a quiet life, but is close to amenities? I'm looking to start a small business but at least initially that's not the primary concern. Most important is finding my little paradise and laying my hat down and releasing years of stress and grey clouds from my memory:-)
You need to provide the ministry of home affairs (MUP) some documents on your first application for residency, one of which being a certificate from your local police to show no criminal record, or if you have a former record, if it is over 10 years, the certificate will show that you’re of no interest. Beeing a director of the company with a residency there are no limits for absence during a year 2.Yes, your absence will influe the right to get a permanent residency 3.the limits are no more than 10 months absence in parts or no more 6 months absence at once within 5 years. Doesnt matter where you go from Monte 4.You can apply for a residency only in Montenegro, at the immigration police
If I move to Montenegro fully retired and not making an income the only tax I will have to pay per year is my property tax correct ? And do the banks charge you a monthly fee for having an account ? You’re right. It’s currently not available for sale due to a legal issue. But it was for sale at €100k and of course we had a buyer for it immediately. Sadly this fell through when the lawyers took a deeper look at the title and realised there was an issue.
Hi, thanks for the informative video, i plan to visit Herceg Novi next month to view some properties. I am from the UK and have a valid DBS Certificate that was issued 4 months ago. Would this be of the correct type or does it need to be more recent, i know in the UK that companies/employers etc can view these checks online is that what they do?
Maybe good for an newly expat German or Englishman. Nice view. I’ve lived in one of the sunniest places in World for 35 years (Southern California). It’s better to have sun and not need it (Los Angeles ), than to need sun and not have it (Berlin). But I have zero productivity when I have direct sunlight shining in my apartment. 😂
