LifeSource is the non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives through organ and tissue donation in the Upper Midwest. We serve more than 6 million people in communities across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and portions of western Wisconsin.
As the federally-designated organization that manages organ and tissue donation in our region, we are dedicated to working with our hospital and community partners to support donor families, facilitate the donation of organs and tissues to transplant recipients and encourage the people in our communities to register as donors.
Wonderful events! I chose to be an organ donor many years ago if something should happen to me. I made my family aware of my wishes, it was (is) on my driver’s license, and when I married I expressed my views to my husband and he also wanted to. Both of my adult sons and their wives also have it on their license. Everyone should be willing to donate if they can. Your memory will live on in others!
I taught in a school where a six year old girl died in a tragic accident. Her mom is a nurse and educated her children about organ donation from a young age. That little angel changed 5 lives with her gift.
My son received a heart transplant and we’re all just soo thankful to the donor and his family. My son had no life for 8years prior to the transplant. He can now play with his children and it’s transformed a life of being restricted to a wonderful life of joy. I don’t know who the donor was but I pray for all of the family.
I find is digusting that this man made his own decision to be an organ donor and yet his own family tried to keep his pregnant wife from honoring her husband's wishes. This had to cause her undue stress that she didn't need. People, you don't get to take away your adult child's rights, period.
My sister-in-laws first husband called her into the room when she was pregnant and shot himself. She not only raised her daughter for the first eight years by herself but put herself through nursing school. Then when she was working at the hospital she met my brother . They fell in love and have been married since 1978.
Good for her and for him for making that lifesaving decision! I am appalled at people not wanting to donate, they sure would want a lifesaving organ if the shoe was on the other foot. She's a strong young women and I'm sure she's a wonderful Mom.
I'm so sorry you had to go through this but it's beautiful you helped so many people and you're son is going to be so proud of you and his dad knowing that
3 years ago, I watched this video. I didn't mention that my 1st husband, my daughters father committed suicide when he was 25 years old. I was 23 years old, and our daughter was 2 years old. It's so difficult. Even now, at the age of 59 years old, it still is very difficult. This young woman is amazing and her son is just beautiful.
I highly encourage everyone to both give blood regularly and sign up to be an organ donor. Someone may someday save your life because they made the selfless choice.
I'm a organ donor, and if anything in my body, and yes even my face. If it will help someone go for it. It's going to be buried and rot so why not help someone in need. I've made sure to let my family and my bestfriends know. To which I really do need to do a will. As tomorrow is never promised.
i would be offended to even be asked. if my partner dies and your asking for his face you better step back a few feet before something happens to yours.
