I've always suspected his delaying the show is due to being insecure about his voice. Specially the shows where he left the stage after someone "showed him the finger" thats just a rock n' roll way out of a situtation where he knew his voice wouldnt last until the end of the show, I've been in this situation and it is a terrible feeling, made even worse because he had to sing basically every other day, no time to recover, and no technique and still too young to believe he could pull it through by sheer will (which he did for an inhumane amount of time). I'm pretty sure that happened from a very long time before we noticed his voice was fucked.
Outstanding concert, axl was best front man on the planet when this was recorded. Even arguably better than Freddie Mercury in his Day. Nowadays he's grown older and is on time and still brilliant.
The original mixes of Chinese democracy are way better than what was released. He spent too much time tickering. The OG vital demos or even finalized tracks sounded way different.
Axl’s solo tour. it’s hysterical watching DJ TRY TO BE SLASH😂😂 his mannerisms, stance, all trying to be slash. Thal is on stage. How many guitarist’s do they have up there to try to make up for Slash? 2-3?? Axl still sounded pretty good here. Solid vocals. When the REAL GNR’s got back 5 yrs after this, I was there. Axl was just starting to lose it. But Slash & Duff would cover him. I’m NOT a Frank fan on drums. Til this day. Seems like a good guy, just the drums aren’t there w/him. Sorum was much better!! Don’t mind Fortus. Should be….Axl, Slash, Duff, Sorum, Fortus & I guess dizzy Reed. That’s GNR’s.
There is no problem that there are 2 guitarists to replace Slash, in 2002 there were Robin and Buckethead and only Buckwthead is better than Slash as a guitarist.
@@Nightmare-dw3cm For the ALBUM…..there were like 5-6 NOT 2 my friend. It took I’m gonna say 5. W/a few others that didn’t make the list. So YES!! It took 5+ guitarists to replace Slash. Buckethead is 1st an idiot. Ppl saw how popular Slash’ top hat was & they’d try find ANYTHING to emulate that. DJ did, buckethead & a lot of others. Who puts a KFC bucket on there head & becomes Buckethead??? It’s ridiculous. Ppl like U say stupid stuff like he’s better than Slash. He wasn’t popular before he was in Guns & not popular now. He was in 2 ridiculous bands that went nowhere. Slash has been in 4 & all for were extremely successful. Not another guitarist has done that. He pretty much brought Gibson guitars back from the dead cause he played a Gibson Les Paul on Appetite. After listening to that & the UYI albums, ppl went in droves to get a copy. He was Huge in making guitar hero. His likeness is on the front cover. Gibson asked him to design many guitars after his secession of hit records/songs w/his signature Les Paul. Don’t know the # but he’s had them design a lot. Buckethead has like 300+ albums. Not even 1 song went mainstream. Let’s say 300 albums & each album had 10 “songs” that’s $3,000 songs w/o a hit 😂😂 shit I can’t even play the guitar & could probably learn & have a hit before him. Listen. It’s in the facts. Look up how many album Guns sold before Chinese Democracy. Each album. Then compare. That’s not a mistake….those are facts. 2.6 million copies sold worldwide. Sadder than that….it cost 13 MILLION to make. Bottom line whether it was Fink, Thall, Ashby, Buckethead etc……it bombed big time!!! So, not just B-head but none of them could come close to Slash. Sorry for the lesson. Had to be said. 1 of the best of all time. And, he’s still going!! He’s been the best for the last 35 yrs & continues to be. So a lot of Axl’s wanna be’s…didn’t do to good. ALL THAT being said, there are a few songs w/real good solos on the album. I think I counted 3. Been a while since I listened to it. I still prefer AFD & UYI 1-2 to it. and Lies. GNR’s has over 100 MILLION records sold. 2.6 are CD🤷♂️ sorry pal.
@@keithwessel3531 You tell me that Slash is better because he participated in more albums, he is famous and sold much more and Gibson collaborated with him. Also slash left Guns for the same reason as Buckethead. I tell you that Buckethead is better because he has much more technique, clarity and speed, just listen to the slash solos performed by Buckethead in the shows, he performs them all in a simple, clean and even faster way without missing a single note. While slash shows today can't replicate even his own solos clearly. Even Gibson started making Buckethead guitars. I compare guitarists by how they play, not by sales. If so, Slash or Kurt Kobain are more than Eddie Van Halen.
@@Nightmare-dw3cm YES. That’s exactly what I’m saying. There was just a documentary on how Slash saved Gibson. You can be damn sure Gibson asked Slash if it was ok to do a b-head guitar. They left for different reasons as well, not the same. Well Slash doesn’t need to be faster than B-head. Not his style & fuck yeah I’m going by record sales. That’s why ppl play guitar, so they can make it big & no one is bigger than Slash. Clarity? I can hear him fine. Technique? Depends what you’re playing. Slash can of course replicate anything he’s done. But when you sell out stadiums 50k to 100k over & over for 35 yrs, I’d imagine it gets boring. Now he’s just out having fun. Playing w/the songs.
