Do these bda covers fit tbe st170 engine. I know the st170 is basically a zetec anyway. But I don’t know enough about the differences between the two, to know if this will fit an st170 And this will effect my engine choice. As I simply have to have the bda look. Otherwise I’ll stick with tbe crossflow👍🏻
Really curious....are the American Zetecs the same as the Euro ones? Wanting to swap my Mk1 Cortina and want to keep stock transmission since you said the bell housings are the same
Retroford, currently building a MK3 Cortina or a TC/TD as we refer to them here in Australia. Although it is common for the cortina to come with the 3.3/4.1L 6 cylinders here in Australia, the issue with them is they are front heavy. So looking at going with a 4cylinder engine. With a Zetec/Duratec which engine would you suggest to get, going to be putting a turbo on it also. I notice you have conversion kits for the MK1/2 cortinas to put a zetec in, do you have anything for a mk3 or do you plan on doing them?
very good presentation.i have a question.i have a BT and a ST. BT´s head is damage but bottom is forged and vg. Can i put ST head on BT`s bottom, will the Hydraulic lifters be fed by oil?
These engines NEED the crank oil separator / breather system. Mine (1.8 16V Blacktop) got clogged up after the breather hose collapsed; causing the PCV valve to seize etc. This blew out the rocker cover gasket and leaked oil all over the cambelt, auxiliary and alternator. Not the best scenario imo. Better off putting in a catch can system.
Hello guys I have an mk2 with a single leaf and lowing blocks the rear keeps rubbing the tyres, standard arches, shes very bouncy on the rear would you put these type of springs in and what rear damper would I use, cheers
Thanks I've got a raw stricker and someone never had the pipe from the pcv going to a catch can so it was leaked all over the engine .I have a black top so I can join the top and pcv pipes together then it goes to a catch can that got a vent on the top .
Please correct me if I am wrong? The PCV valve line and the valve cover vent can be linked into the catch can, then the last hose runs back into the throttle body as usual? No venting to atmosphere
Hi,I’m a big fan from Australia.Love the work you do on keeping the old fords on the road! After some advice, would the Aussie XR5 focus 2.5 turbo engine which I believe is still a Duratec be of use to convert to a mk2 escort? Tia.
From PCV and from the valve cover both are joined with the T fitting, and then goes into the canister? The second fitting on the canister will be for the air filter?
