Another thing I’ll add is I’ll say, “Focus on the ring. Pay close attention to it.” This works because many people (even small children) can detect the change in finger size as you do the jump.
You don't have to go on the internet to find coins. Just go to a local bank. Most people in the U.S. already have pennies, nickles, dunes and quarters in their everyday pocket change. If you go into a bank you can usually get half dollars or the Eisenhower dollar coins. Get what you are comfortable holding. Also, there is nothing wrong with beginning to learn magic using balls, dice, or sponge balls. Don't let this guy steer you in the wrong direction. If you want to learn magic then study with the materials that interest you. You don't have to learn coin magic. You don't have to learn card maguc. Learn what interests you. You may be the person who takes an old, worn area of magic and breathes new life or concepts into it. In other words....BE YOURSELF.
You guys are so ridiculous! "I saw that"...or "that was so obvious" First of all....Garrett Thomas is arguably the greatest sleight-of-hand magician to ever exist. NONE of you are on his level! Second...YOU didn't see ANYTHING! Pause...rewind...playback speed.NO you didn't see ANYTHING...in real life he would have done that little move 2wice, and it would have fooled you both times.
How about another 'side' of Garret Thomas - you won't believe it 🍔🍰🍦 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-50XOWdSbHQs.html - talk about a transformation! start at 2:37 of the above link - now this is *magic* and a life-saver!
You say when doing the research you should buy every book and every video, but honestly most people can nowhere near afford that. Magic books and videos are super expensive!!!
@1:44 - index finger is clearly in view, in curled position (later on, as well). Master Master when ya gonna let me eat . . . cuz dat ain't chicken, Masser Garret.
Great advice! I wish I'd watched this before releasing my first trick which I did just over a week ago. I think I did a pretty good job of it for a first release but this has made me think. The problem I have with getting out there and performing 10,000 times is getting the opportunity for 10,000 gigs or performances. Any advice on that?
not that my opinion means anything but i think you eric jones shoot ogawa and ponta the smith are the best coinman around today and their is also a kid who appeared on ellen named Morits Mueller , his skills with coins are undeniable and gracefully beautiful to watch (just like you guys) and he was 13 (he started when he was 10 and is now 16) i think hes the future of coin magic and is already creating his own routines.....amazing kid and please check him out and tell me what you think.P.S. thank you for your time if your reading this (im a big fan of yours) and thank you for the innovative beautiful coin magic you have created. ✌😎👍
a deck of jokers-red backed ace and a blue backed ace in hand, double lift. The strong hold straddling of that "red" card kinda screamed the method. Bob Solari has a similar trick using a bit of sticky tape. I think there are also 3-4 similar versions referred to as "OPEN PREDICTIONS", there is also a few gimmicked deck versions available. Not sure who said it but anytime you remove a deck from the box, always flash the bottom card (an indifferent card) and when possible deck should always be shuffled. These to things give the illusion of randomness.
Great video guys. The '10,000 hours' concept is from Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell - amazing book www.amazon.co.uk/Outliers-Story-Success-Malcolm-Gladwell/dp/0141036257
