My name is Julia, welcome to the farm! I am a mom of two humans and lots of animals, and a fiancé ♥️ We raise registered Nubian dairy goats on the coast of Maine and are currently working our buns off to get our dairy license! Follow along on this crazy farm dream of mine 🐐
It's awesome when the first baby paves the way for the others to come out easily. You guys did great. Can I just say how I love how hubby came home from work to tend to the goats?
I’m the same way 😂 I won’t watch anything for a while and then binge watch and comment on everything! Thank you! I’m so lucky to have had all the help I did 💖
We have always used bravecto and it has always worked so well but it has doubled in price and the fleas have been SOO bad here in Maine this year for everyone! I haven’t noticed anything since treating and the flea collar but it’s also getting cold so I’m not sure if we fixed the problem or it’s just hibernating 😬
How have I NOT been over here yet? Oh my goodness your goats and farm are so gorgeous! AI is so intriguing to me, my mentor does it and it's so cool!!!
I’ve looked into getting that same semen tank. I’ve never AI’ed before and it’s so expensive to get started. From your video it didn’t seem like there was anything wrong with the tank, it was with the canes. Couldn’t I buy better quality canes to go in the canister that aren’t so flimsy? Or am I missing something?
It is all the tank! It is not made to hold regular semen canes so no matter where you buy semen from the tank will not hold it properly. Not only that but my tank ran out of liquid nitrogen in a month (the hold time is supposed to be 3 months). I reached out to the company who would do nothing but refund me $30 for the whole tank… This tank is complete trash and buying it was a complete waste of money. I highly suggest getting a tank from sementanks.com the customer service has been wonderful and the new tank works great!
Heyyy Julia! What a cool video! Always looking forward to watching your videos! I love that sweater you have but I’m not ready for the cold weather at all! I hope you have a great and awesome week!
The link you have there says it's for cows. IDEXX has one specifically for smaller ruminants but I can't seem to find it anywhere. So the cow ones work for goats as well? Cool!
Yes I’m very aware which is why the canister was kept well below the opening to reduce the risk of that happening. Sadly there wasn’t much else I could do in this situation unless I wanted to just keep everything at the bottom of the tank. Thankfully the tank can be open with no issues to any of the semen kept down below 😊 I do plan on checking on this semen with a microscope next time I ai to see if any damage was done
@@rickyibarra4467 You can! We are on facebook and instagram, link to both of those are in the description of this video and our email is listed on our website www.fullmooncreamery.com
Heyyyy what a cool video! Ya it sucks to let go of animals but it’s in the best interest! I love your goats they are very colorful and and very well tamed! I hope all goes well for you guys! I think my goat is pregnant and probably like a month if that! I wish I could help you clean or even be neighbors! I hope you have a good day ! Texas love and hugs
you could just buy bucks instead and breed from there, sure it takes a few generations to improve the herd because when ya buy goats from someone they might be not as good as the saler tells ya. Even one or two bucks can make a big difference. Don't get ya'r self down, I think you guys are doing a good job.
Toast was only 8 weeks old when we got him so there was no way for us to have known he would be this way. Right now our herd isn’t really big enough for us to not bring in outside bucks plus I want to bring in some really great genetics plus I am getting into ai this year though which will help a ton with not having to purchase new bucks!
Hi Julia! What an awesome video! Now you got me the information on what I needed to know! Cuz I have my two gots separated and yes my female goat is in heat! When is a good time to put them together?
You could put them together for a day or two while she’s in heat or put her in multiple times within the 24ish hours she’s in heat. Once we notice a doe is in heavy heat we’ll usually put her in with the buck of our choice and after a successful breeding we take her out and then we repeat that once or twice about 8-12 hours later (while she’s still showing signs of heat) Once we start breeding everyone I’ll try to get a good explanation video and some footage of how we do that and what we call a “successful breeding” is
Wowwww thank you a lot for the class 101 on the goats goin into heat! It help me out a lot even thou I only have a male and female goat! I try to spend a couple of hours with the goats and they are very friendly now! Now I want some goats like yours now also! lol
That is not true 😂 I was a Whole Foods vegan for years and struggled with many health issues. My mom was a Whole Foods vegan for years and still got stage 3 breast cancer. It is not the way for all people. This tumor has nothing to do with diet and actually formed because I’m breastfeeding. When I’m done breastfeeding it will most likely disappear and never appear again 😊
I’m so glad that you good news in terms of your cancer scare. Your goats are beautiful. I love the dappled girls enjoy your trip to the goat show and I look forward to your video about girls going into heat. I just purchased two new those that are first fresheners and are doing OK on the milk stand however one of the gals ended up with mastitis in one of her so I’ve been dealing with that. Kind of scary, but my next-door neighbor who is also my goat mentor is helping me with medicating and dealing with it. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Thank you so much for watching! Mastitis can be very scary but if it was caught early and you started treating right away then you and your doe should have an easy road to recovery! 💖
Heyyy ! What an awesome video! I love your pretty goats! Glade to see your goats are feeling better! I hope you are doin good now especially that with scare of breast cancer! Hope to see that video of how you know when goats go into heat cuz I have a male and female goat!

She was so nice! She picked up my daughter while we were in the ring and let her judge for a few seconds before my daughter lost interest 😂 The ac was amazing but I think crunch got a little chilly from it she was a little hunched up when we showed her
@fullmooncreamery I love that. It's so funny I was watching the video and I was like wait is that Karen even with her new hair do and then I heard her giving reasons and I was like oh that is Karen. I am still fairly new but she is the president of our goat club here in Tennessee so I am still new enough I am like oh I know that is oh hey I know them lol
the way I knew when a goat was pregnant is when ya touch their belly and when they normally like it they don't like it much when they are pregnant usually when they are more advanced that is. Been a few years since I had goats mostly Alpines and Saanen mix
She’s a dry yearling so she hates her belly getting touched all the time, we can usually tell by a developing udder which we thought she had but I guess it’s not. We are past what her due date would have been and nothing so we are hoping it’s just hormones 😊
I know the video is a month old but been up here a wet year too especially in early summer, there is a video or two on youtube that shows a way to make hay when the weather is iffy, which my grandfather did too back in the old country. Awesome videos keep em comin'
New subscriber here! I just bout me a pair of goats a week ago and have them separated til October for breeding time! They are fun and very calm like yours!
Did everyone learn anything? And hopefully had a wonderful time . Appreciate y'all sharing 😊 heads held high thank y'all for sharing such a wonderful story 🙏
Aww I saw me and my son and my best friend out there showing with you! You did amazing! I remarked to my husband that I follow your vlog and you are a rockstar!
