I really enjoy and appreciate your videos. I've done several restorations on brass ho , mostly trial and error, but I've already seen a few new techniques you showed that will help a lot. Never too old to learn a few tricks. Thanks!
I wonder if a dentist knows the difference between a moler and a wisdom tooth, because you sure don't know the difference between a check valve and an injector. You model guys are something else. Scaled down to the last rivet but ya don't know your actual parts.
I've just recently picked up my second brass HO scale diesel, a Baldwin VO-1000 which I've got to repaint for the Central of Georgia Railroad company. My first brass diesel (HO scale) was a Fairbanks-Morse H12-44. I like brass since I don't do DCC; I'm strictly a DC guy. I haven't gotten any steam engines yet nor any for O scale. I do collect Lionel 027. Cheers from an ex-Georgian in eastern TN

David I will shoot a video with my resistance soldering label showing fir you. Take a screen shot and Google it....they do turn up from time to time. Best of luck.
David......that is a great question. Finding parts and decals was my biggest fear. I took the project on because this model was only missing the smoke stack...which the owner provided. I can make some parts....but if parts or decals are unavailable...then I have to decline the project.. Gather as much parts as you can....decals too. That's my best advice to tackling these rebuilds.

One thing I suggest is to do the decals before any weathering at all. That's so when you're weathering it looks natural and fits well with the rest of the effects.
Another great video , as I had mentioned to you las week I have several of the vintage ,Steammer's. A 4-4-0 , .a 4-4-2 , two 4-6-0's and a 2-6-0 . I will try to send photos . Dave
David....these are interesting models to work on....as I am learning with you guys here in RU-vid. Pretty basic and easy to compare to more equipment. Electrical seems a little different as other items. Let me know if there is a particular area you would like to see me go over here on RU-vid. I do love this locomotive.
