I am so glad that I researched more. This makes it so much easier! I was not sure if I could do this but now I know I can. Thanks!!!! Love the idea of the spool to keep the batting on but I don't have those but I bet a paper towel holder from the $ store would work?
Thanks for the beautiful coloring technique you did on the first video. Also, thanks for this comparison video. Have you tried not laying down the lightest color first? Start with the darkest and work out to the lightest. I saw a live video with an OLO crafter rep and that was how she recommended coloring. She said she used to color the way you presented but changed with these markers because they are juicier. She used Express-it paper in case you want to know the paper. I would love to have your thoughts. Glad I found you and I did subscribe for more.
Sometimes I forget and just go from the darkest lol. I hadn't heard that about the Olo markers - thanks so much for the info. I haven't been coloring lately, but when I do, I'll definitely try it out, and maybe try out the Xpress It card again.
Great colored images! I really liked how the colores looked on the Hammermill paper. Maureen, could you tell what was the weight of the Hammermill paper that you used? Thanks :)
Yes, I do! In fact, this Halloween album is up in my Etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/1297502991/handmade-halloween-mini-album-or-journal Thanks for asking!!
Love the shape of that witch hat on the cover! The stitching threads just add to the creepiness of the project...nice! I like the way you sewed a flip onto pages. While this is a kit, you have made it your own. WELL DONE!!
It's the Hammermill Premium Color Copy Card in 100 lb. (which sounds really heavy weight, but it's not). I also ordered some Neenah that I'm going to try out as well. I never cared for the Xpress It with my Copics so I don't use it, but maybe it's time to give it another try...

Genius tip, Maureen! I have had the issues with Press 'n Seal being awkward to use that you pointed out, so I really like this frame idea. I forget if it was Jennifer McGuire or someone else, but she showed using the sticky mat itself to hold the die cuts, rather than the Press 'n Seal. Then just glue them down to your project, wait for the glue to set up/dry, and carefully peel off the sticky mat. Of course, the mat she used was clear so she could see where the die cuts were going. I like your idea about using the corner of the MISTI to line up the frame, though. I wonder if Iliana had any clue how versatile the MISTI was going to turn out to be when she invented it? :) I do have one question with your method, though. How do you store the frame with the Press 'n Seal on it to keep it from getting dusty? I have heard crafters say they reuse the PnS, but I never have because I couldn't figure out a good storage method for the piece I pulled off to use. I always feel guilty about throwing it away, since it's not biodegradable. The frame seems like it would compound the problem. What is your solution? Thank you for sharing this tip. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
I think Iliana knew - that's why it's named the Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented!! Lol! I just slipped my sticky frame with Press 'N Seal into a clear page protector and have it in a folder with my sticky mats and grids and such for my MISTIs. Hope this helps!
Just bought this set (great Altenew sale!) and saw immediately I would have trouble lining it up. Found your video and my worries are over. Additionally I can go back to some other sets that have given me headaches and do the same thing. Thank you so much for your sharing!!
Yes! All the different ones have slightly different designs and some work a little differently as well. I will always go with the MISTIs (in fact I just bought 2 of the mini in the new 2.0 style) because they were the first and I think are the best!! Yes, I am an affiliate, but I've tried most of the other stamping platforms out there and I always go back to the MISTI!! Here's my affiliate link if you want to check them out :) shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1129557&u=827939&m=77050&urllink=&afftrack=
very nice journal. I was looking for a video to give me some ideas for 6 x 6 paper. I now after watching your video have some really great ideas. Thank you!
I am also totally enamored with Melanie Sullivan! Love your take on the process. Very fun, Thanks for sharing. I would love to see more as you work in your journal!
