Yana. thank you for the ''very cool'' comment. That's the first time my singing has been called ''cool'' by anyone and I think that is ''very cool''. regards Dave.
It is a shame David, because I was looking forward to travelling the Warwick to Wallangarra line again this year aboard the Warwick steam train, but unfortunately the fires put a stop to that. Dave
@@DavidMKempMusicandTrains yes and as iwas getting our suburban train to the city,i spoke to a rail support worker and said that that very thing that a bridge had been bunt down but as i was getting out of the taxi,i heard the all to familiar sound of a train whistle and he said that they were testing it and also said that we had the steamer about 3 yrs agoso there we are and thanks for replying to my post.
i was born shortly after the end of the steam era.i was born in mildura in the N/W of vic and grew up during the steam era and subsequently the end of the steam era when the deisals were introduced.i'm now 66yrs old and went to primary school and got used to seeing the old steamer parked in the railway siding next to the BP station for approx 6-8 yrs in the late '60's-'70's.mildura had the one-stop shop for maintaining the steamer for the weekly night passenger run to spencer street station in melbourne, vic.
David, thank you for your very interesting story and also your interest in this video of the trip to Wallangarra . I just love Steam Train era nostalgia. Regards Dave .
WOW, what a stunning performance! 'The Rose Of Allendale' is absolutely a beautiful song and one of my favorites too, and your performance has added a new depth and warmth to it. Your singing is so heartfelt, carrying so much emotion, and your banjo backing adds a tasteful touch to the overall sound. It's a true joy to see someone with so much talent and passion for music! Thank you SO much, Dave, for sharing your artistry with us! Your music has a way of touching the soul and making the world a better and more beautiful place! 🌎🎼✨🙏😊
Thank you Patrick for your most welcome and kind complements on my performance of ''The Rose of Allendale. Glad I could share my music with you and as you say, the rest of the world. Very much appreciated , Regards Dave.
For me personally, I am fascinated by carriages and their interiors. Sadly this video focuses on poking the camera outside the train window for 99% of the journey.
Hi Denis. I am pleased my rendition of this old Irish song could help you while the time away and I shall keep the songs coming for an, as you say, old man. Dave
Well you could say 3/4’s of a century could be old, after all they’d shoot a horse if it ever got that age , but I’m YOUNG AT HEART, and what an intro to a song 😊 love to hear you sing that old classic Dave.
Thanks for the video. Well filmed & edited. I was lucky enough to do the Warwick-Clifton return run in 2014. I have a soft spot for the C17 thanks to spending time in my 20s at ZigZag, with #934, and the great people there who shared their knowledge and experience. It’s great to see how well SDSR have continued to restore everything so well, and better yet, how they actually use it regularly. The area is perfect for a nice relaxing “steam day” - enough long open runs through fields, and great small towns to pass through.
Thank you for the complement on my filming etc, glad you enjoyed the video and yes, hats of to all the volunteers at SDSR as they all do a wonderful job on restoration and also looking after their passengers on these days out as well.
Great video thank you. Very natural cinematography. And a nice narrative at Wallangarra. 18:49 the line to the right went off to the large Army depot used during WWII.
The QLD Govt. said it would cost $20 million to repair damage done to infrastructure caused by the bad fires at Wallangarra and along the Railway line in November 2023.
Beautiful job, Dave & Tania. I know this one well too. My nana & mum taught it to us kids too when we were growing up. It’s always been a favourite. ☘️ ☘️ ☘️ ☘️ ☘️
Thank you for your wonderful comment on our rendition of this lovely old Irish song. So pleased you enjoyed our singing. Kind regards from Dave and Tania.
