@@natew5544 it just shipped to me directly from the publisher last week. You could order direct from the Book Palace website , or wait for Bud Plants website to get their copies. I have the feeling it will probably sell out quick, even at the high price.
@@natew5544 although, they do often reprint their limited edition hardcovers in a paperback edition I don’t know if they will or won’t. Plus, a four hundred page book really needs a hardback binding.
Good that i have subscribed to you, else i would have missed these two books. But since the Kickstarter is now over i have to order them at the Pulse Store. The French my have gone wrong with Olympia, but they can still deliver on different grounds.
@@ravesensation5533 From the genres (Post Apo. and S&S) i would guess that Cyberpunk or some other none mainstream genre, like Stone Age, is his next project. So if you have spoken with Gaillard then please inform me or us.
I've been slowing building up a Creepy collection. Outstanding video. I bet if you made a series of extra long page turning videos and marketed them as ASMR, it would be a hit.
I like old Heavy Metal issues. I just got The Major by Moebius from dark horse. UFO Mushroom Invasion is comin out in October according to Amazon. Are you getting all the Richard Corben books being rereleased? Those are my book review ideas.
I have all the Corben books pre-ordered and I'll probably do videos as they arrive. As a matter of fact I think the Major and Den 2 are both waiting for me to pick up. Anything else you're looking forward to?
@@ravesensation5533 other things I’m lookin forward to are the new volumes of Otomo Complete Works, the Legend of Kamui reprint, and Fist of the North Star volumes from Viz.
@@LLKoolJosh I had no idea Kamui was being reprinted! That's great news! I'll have to look that up and see what the format will be! I think Fist of the North Star should be wrapping up soon, but I do love that series too. I'll have to look and see what Otomo is coming out.
The first time Kamui was printed in English it wasn't complete. I'm not sure if the second printing was or not, but this looks like it will be the complete run. Looks like D&Q will not be any kind of deluxe format however, which is too bad.
@@hellboy1959 one of my favorite books was a massive beautiful limited edition book on Coye from Centipede press. When I come across it in my storage unit I will definitely do a video on it.
What an odd hodgepodge of material. I, too, am a sucker for collections like this and definitely would have backed it, if I'd seen it. I think I would ultimately have been a little disappointed by the final package, though: too much gutter loss, no editorializing or introduction, and the slapdash sourcing and presentation. Love the channel!
@@bronzeagemonsters thanks! If I had seen this a head of time I wouldn’t have picked it up, but it’s not the worst blind buy I’ve made. Still, I would love for someone else to tackle this idea.
That last guy you were looking at, Toyokazu Matsunga , is very underrated. I recommended checking out his manga Ryuguden if you haven't already. A nice short series with a really grotesque fishman design you might like. Enjoying the channel by the way.
Just picked up a 90s bad girl comic by hart d fisher called Babylon crush at a antique store and it’s pretty frickn wild. Definitely not for the squeamish
I guess I can't say their name, but there's a great channel who does action comics of these with a fantastic narrator. Great stuff. I'll put the name in a separate comment and you can delete it if you need to.
Thanks very much for the kind words. All my life I've benefited from people who love something sharing it with me, and I like getting to show off some of the things I've collected instead of just having them sit in storage. And after I've shown off something here I always get great ideas from other fans for books to track down.
@@MrDman21 oh boy, I’m sorry I was doing this in my email responses not on RU-vid and mixed up your comment on Frazetta with my Frank Thorne video. I’m sorry, I’ll have to write you a better response when I’m home.
@@thepaperbackfanatic1 Justin I love your publications (well, I’m not quite as crazy about the military stuff, but that had nothing to do with what a good job your doing). I’m sorry I didn’t give it a more in depth review, but I just wanted to get the word out as soon as possible. Thanks for all the great reading through the years!
@@frenchbullfrog you know it dude. I really enjoyed this comic, but it is certainly not a groundbreaking story. I think the kids who were enjoying Goosebumps here in the states might have been a little freaked out by theses Japanese horror comics, but I think books like Cat Eyed Boy could have been popular.
I've read both Hobtown Mystery books and will vouch for them. Haven't picked up the new edition by Oni Press yet, but the colors look great. "Blessed Be" is still on my read pile but I liked how much background you provided. Been woefully unaware of Altergott's career, I just knew him based on his strips that would be at the end of several issues of Bagge's HATE.
Glad to hear the other Hobtown book is good, because I immediately ordered a used copy after finishing the first. I hope this book does well and Fantagraphics reprints some of his other work. I think they should at least reprint the Doofus Omnibus. Yeah, Peter Bagge had a real eye for promoting talent back in the day. He highlighted a lot of cool stuff when he was editing Weirdo.
I love this book, O.M.W.O.T. also. The Abel Ferrara movie Fear City starring Tom Berenger and Melanie Griffith seems like direct inspiration. Marra's Disciples is also excellent, but not funny or campy in the least. And his promotional photos are as funny as his books.
Yeah the author bios in his books are always hilarious. I liked Disciples okay, but it wasn’t my favorite. Still, I want to make sure I read everything he does.
@@ArchibaldGurnsbach I have a hard time evaluating it, because the story telling has been so slow moving I haven’t been able to follow what’s going on. The collection comes out this summer though and I am definitely picking it up.
It was so long I thought it would never get here! I enjoyed both, neither of them are totally humorous or totally straight, but they are full of weirdness and both are very well crafted and interesting. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, I know I’m terrible with names, so any time you can help, please do. I’m glad you liked the review, I’m really happy with the book. It’s great to have so much great Corben work in such a good looking book.
I was laughing so hard watching this! Definitely picking this one up along with a couple more Johnny Ryan books. So grotesque and absurdly awesome. Thanks for sharing dude!

Looking at the book, there is a small credit for “translation by Joe Williams”, but that might be just for the original manuscript, or maybe just for captions under the images. I couldn’t find any versions of the book on line in any language besides English.
Out of the three so far, the Meenely book is my favorite, but all the titles have something to recommend them. The upcoming vol 3, “In the Days of the Rockets” looks pretty great.
Hey thanks very much. Sorry I didn’t answer sooner, but for some reason I didn’t get a notification. Also, the thumbnail is usually with the comment, but yours didn’t seem to be associated with any particular video. I hate not responding to people who comment, I’m not sure why I didn’t see. I love the found footage guys (although the toilet clogging fiasco in last nights episode was a little hard to watch.
@@ravesensation5533 I really think RU-vid is messing with me for using an adblocker. Yes, my secondhand embarrassment was off the charts last night - I almost tuned out.
Naughty Bits isn’t for everyone. But you could fast forward. You know I wonder what Roberta Gregory has been doing, I haven’t seen anything from her in 20 years.
@@ravesensation5533 Apparently she's working on a novel called "Mother Mountain" and a graphic novel prequel to that novel. Looks like she's been publishing most of her more recent work as web-comics. I haven't read much of her work apart from some bits in some anthologies, but I plan to get some of her Naughty Bits eventually. Most definitely not going to do any fast-forwarding! 🙂
Ok, that is a nice werewolf. What a strange comic. I can't understand how in several illustrations he (I can assume it's a guy) seems to have a very good level of artist with how he handles the anatomy and the coloring of the skin and shadows... but in certain vignettes/panels he totally fails with the proportions. It's as if there were 2 different people who drew this comic, the real artist... and his friend, son or girlfriend who wanted to participate. On the other hand... it seems like the typical cheap comic that only has a plot excuse to show a "fake nude" of painted clothes. It even has those rancid "techniques" like those in the vignette/panel here ( 06:15 ), the second vignette/panel on the first page, in which the protagonist woman is so extremely uncomfortable lying on the floor... a pose evidently forced to the maximum because the artist did not conform or was satisfied that only the tits were visible, but he wanted both the tits and the buttocks to be seen.
Ugh! No sooner did I post this video and someone asked me about an issue I showed in one of my unboxing videos! Damn I have at least one other issue of a mini-series that was put out! Curse my lousy memory! Anyway, this video hasn’t been very popular so I may or may not do a follow up!
