As far as I know the bug only affects the console versions. The PC version of the game is a different build, and apparently has several more events than the console versions. I haven't tested the PC version to be sure (though I'd like to at some point), I'm just relaying the information I got from another video.

This game was my childhood, I got a huge part of my music taste from it. Hours upon hours listening to the soundtrack on repeat in free roam as a little kid just messing around
Jackson Heights drift downhill are my favorite, ever!!!! Even sprint race 🏁 🏎 into Jackson Heights uphill by the radio tower where you can see the whole city.
See, you say that, URL events tend to test your skills with a first three races in the airport. Unlike the one with six laps from the last stage and five laps in a single race event. How about that?
The single races with five or six laps are the hardest imo. You can win them without too much trouble (especially if you pull a Ross Chastain maneuver on some of the corners), but you likely will get 0 or 100 rep. Whereas the three race tournaments take longer, all you have to do is win all three races and you get 300 rep, regardless of how much you won the race by. Either way, I actually hate URL's on hard. I found them terribly boring. I wouldn't actually recommend going through the game this way, they're probably more enjoyable when done as they're unlocked then leaving them to the end.
As you wrap up stage 4, these URL events basically your last resort. And once you begin stage 5 in a few parts ahead of time, it is going to be a loooong ride till the end, towards your 100%. Heads up: in stage 5, there are 11 outruns, I think. One is for the body kits, and other one is for the performance upgrade.
Yeah, so essentially the best way to have a shot at the GReddy sponsorship in Stage 5 would be to do as few Sprint and Circuit races as possible as those would be what would tank your rep. If you watch earlier Stage 4 videos, I was well on track to actually having a high enough rep with the StreetX, Drift and Drag races until I got into these... Even if you do the six hidden races of those types you still have to do several Circuit or Sprint races to hit the 30 event mark. The URL tournaments do help, as as long as you win both races in each tournament you get 300 rep, and there's only two single URL races. When I was recording this back in November 2023 I debated on breaking from my plan here to try and get the GReddy sponsorship but I decided it would be confusing for viewers to be skipping probably 15-20 stage 4 races (I actually never counted how many total races in each stage), and then the World Map video would be massive trying to cover all those missed races.
That sounds right. I didn't actually count how many I did until it stopped spawning outrun races but I felt like it took a long time lol. You don't actually have to do them after the last special event, but I just wanted to get the AI racers off the map.
Yep, I didn't have very good sponsor options here (Drift racing is really hard with a RWD starter car until Stage 3) so I chose the one with the Street X race.
So I just checked and in my final video it'll show 225 races in total actually once I'm done the Stage 5 World Map cleanup. I think that number should be either 226 or 227 (I picked one of the Street X races up with my chosen Stage 5 sponsor) to have 100% as it still shows 99% there and there's nothing left to do.
I actually looked at the wrong thing. You're right about 222 in total, but my total wins is 221 in the final video, which means I'm missing one event that I can't do and doesn't show up.
Again Sponsors for Stage 2 to 4 don't matter towards the 100% as far as I know. I don't exactly remember why I chose Edelbrock here other than I might have found Drag races easiest in the first part of the game.

Yep You bet! Well at least as close to one as is possible on the console ports. There's a bug in the game that prevents a true 100% unless you pick GReddy as your sponsor in Stage 5 (two of the StreetX races won't appear in the World Map afterwards if you don't) which is pretty much impossible to get if you play on hard due to a average rep of like 275 being required to unlock that sponsor.
Outside of what I mentioned above about Stage 5, what sponsor you pick is totally up to you! I found picking a sponsor with Street X and Drift races the easiest though!
