I live in Vienna (Wiener=Viennese), like to fly my drone, play the bagpipes and talk about films (and other stuff that comes to mind).

Interesting points and details. As a Slam Dunk fan myself, I’m glad to hear you liked the film. It’s true there’s some cultural background to consider. The game they played was the Inter High (Inter High School Basketball Tournament), a significant event in Japan. It’s every high school basketball player’s dream to participate and win it all.

Thanks for dropping by and providing some insight. It is obvious in the film that this match is REALLY important for the teams and I am really happy that this film is so popular and successful despite not being some olympic level final or something of the sort because yes, if you're that teenager then this game IS the olympics for you. It's cool to read that this is a big event for all society in Japan and I'm glad that such young people get that kind of support.

What Wes Ball did with this movie astounded me! Continuing the story of Caesar by exploring his legacy as an almost religious figure was brilliant. On top of that the VFX were immaculate and the performances just as impressive. An epic return to this world that has me wanting a lot more! Great review man 👍

I didn’t mind part 1 but part 2 went downhill fast. Action could be cool but I didn’t care about anything that was happening. With 4hrs of screen time Snyder still failed to get me attached to these characters. I was just bored. I’m done with this franchise now. Great review!

It is quite incredible how little we feel for these characters after four hours, you're right. We'll see what the future holds in store for this franchise, but hopefully something better - if people are still going to be interested, which is unlikely. Thanks for stopping by!

I dont think there is a particual gesture for spanish. As there are more than 100 accents of spanish in spain and all the américas. And each have their specifics
@robertoperezcastro6130
@robertoperezcastro6130 6 месяцев назад
They play the River plate gesture very well. And its totally different from across the Andes here in Chile. Which is conveyed in the movie. The Chileans show a colder demeanor. The Strauch cousins even look like a typical Germanic South American descendants, much more composed .

@@robertoperezcastro6130 you mean accent?
@robertoperezcastro6130
@robertoperezcastro6130 6 месяцев назад
@@marcelsirer the accent and the gestures. River Plate people are much more extrovert in their speech. Chileans are generally more inwards with the movement of hands and arms. You can see it with the muleteer, a humble man who is also a gentleman, holding his hat against his chest when he’s at the police station. The air force colonel calmly realizing the news and placing the pin. That’s Chilean. The radio where the survivors hear Nando and Roberto is clearly Chilean. They pronounce “uruguayo” with a soft Y, as opposed to River plate people who stress it out . You can’t tell but also the Argentine actors do a great job doing Uruguayan accents. You can tell the difference if you compare the actor who plays Canessa in the film and in any interview he holds.
@marcelsirer
@marcelsirer 6 месяцев назад
@@robertoperezcastro6130 Yes argentinians do a lot of gesturing. Because as the host of the video said. Is there a gesture for spanish as there is on italian? And Buenos Aires speech is pretty much Italian. Not so much in Uruguay that is more influenced from Spain. They do a lot of gesturing but is not "the gesture" for spanish. As there are so many countries and ways of speaking it, I Dare say there is not a gesture for spanish. There could be many and from very specific regions not one gesture for the spanish language.
@robertoperezcastro6130
@robertoperezcastro6130 6 месяцев назад
@@marcelsirer of course not, there is not one particular gesture from the Spanish . I live in central Chile and my accent and gestures is a little different from my cousins in southern Chile.

Come and see - is THE best anti-war movie ever. Nothing compares. Nothing comes even close. To me, this one is just another "look how bad the Germans were" type of movie. I'd be interested to see what these movies would look like in a US military context. Like black people used as cannon fodder and then never again mentioned anywhere in history. Or just even all the poor and low-income kids getting recruited for the same fait. But at least they reaped some of the glory. However, this isn't a bad "anti-war" film. I actually enjoyed it.

LLV is probably one of the saddest movies I've ever watched and I felt like somebody kicked me in the stomach for hours.. Oh yes, the music score is underrated. The 1930 and 2022 are both great films, in their own ways. I'm glad you mentioned Volker Betelmann's score - it really fits the film and the use of silence is also right on the money, imo. I read the book a very long time ago and I'm going to read it again. Btw, thank you for not mangling the German language - though I see you live in Vienna,but thank you all the same! If you're in the mood for another grim watch then I can recommend 'Come and See', set in WWII. I don't know the Finnish film but I'll have to track it down. Best wishes
