5 star tunes blew a turbo on my 11’ and made my 19 ranger throw wrench lights every time I gave it half throttle. I have a 2020 2.7 truck now and after thinking about it, all that dumb shit I did to those trucks with tunes it’s not worth it people. You fight the dealer tooth and nail bc yes they can tell if the truck was flashed they count the start ups it has. It’s not worth it for the small performance gain and stress in everything else. Enjoy your trucks and keep the warranty. Don’t believe the tuning companies when they say we’ll cover 40k worth of damage. They’re liars. They just want you to buy the cheap ass module that cost them 50$ to make in china and charge you 499$
@anthonyhales4192 lol no it wasn't a Jab, don't get emotional I'm just saying if it was for you, you'd understand. Fast trucks and making trucks fast isn't anything new or out of ordinary, there's countless race trucks and aftermarket performance options out there.
The only thing acceleration wise I have ever noticed is low rpm part throttle. The boost seems to come on earlier. Once rpms are up and you are at wide open throttle, theres no difference. Sport mode messes with things like holding gears long at cruising speed ready to jump, like in roll racing and does firmer downshifting. I never use it.
I answered because it appeared that you never received a response from the video poster. I watched a few of his videos claiming he was e85 tuned and upgraded turbos. His dragy run wasn't impressive. Something dont add up. I have a high mileage F150 2.7 Ecoboost Supercrew and can run what he ran almost with my stock tune put back in. And with wore out oem turbos ran a 12.46 on e50. It ran a 12.95 on 91 tune. A 1st gen 2.7 cant be tuned e85 without serious fueling upgrades, Xtreme di evo pump and high flow injectors. I am on e50 via a VMP boost a pump but will no longer be able to run e50 after I install my CRP turbos. We will see if it can still run e30 and upgraded turbos. If it will handle e30 we will see what it needs to get back to e50.I think it will run e50 if I do Xtreme di injectors.
@natesv04 lil2.7 has 226,500 miles as of today. I purchased the truck new in June 2016. Tows heavy at times, hauls heavy at times and goes wide open throttle fairly frequently. Spent first 100K stock, making 120bhp per liter. 325÷2.7=120. Its worth noting that 2.7s make 300-310 rear wheel horsepower stock, 325bhp is modest. At around 100K it got its first tune and progressed to e50 somewhere around 150K. With bolt ons and e50, it was probably making around 425whp for a 157whp per liter. I am saying this about the horsepower per liter as it represents the amount of strain compared to size. For instance, a 420bhp Silverado 6.2 makes 67bhp per liter, thats gentle. All that being said, here is what had to be fixed. At 168K the torque converter developed a shudder and was replaced. The fuel tank purge valve failed at around 190, this line is on top of the engine and was easy to replace but cost just sourh of a hundred bucks. The in tank fuel pump was replaced at 150k, not because it failed but because I was going ethanol and wanted a fresh pump to make sure I was supplying enough fuel and I was going to be running 18V to it with a boost a pump. I changed the coils at around 215K, again as a prevention of failure, the originals were still performing fine. I have done nothing to the engine, the timing assembly is the original. I upgraded the turbos at 225K, both originals were working fine. My back up camera quit working a long time ago. None of the problems I have had thus far are related to the fact that it has a 2.7. Hope this helps or maybe puts your mind at ease about the little engine.
So this is on an e85 tune and upgraded turbos? Mine is a 2016 2.7 Supercrew, so mine and yours being first gen it won't go e85 without major fueling upgrades. I have a VMP boost a pump on the oem low pressure pump and I am running e50 and stock turbos....211,xxx miles on engine and turbos. Has consistently ran 12.59-12.60 in the quarter launching in 4wd and a 13.17 launching in 2wd on the street with an all season tire. Ran a 13.04 on 91 tune, one attempt. I am sure it could go 12.9s on 91. Ran 13.54 on 91 launching in 2wd, also one attempt. e85 and stage 3 turbos should run 12.0 at worst.
just bought my first 2.7 out of a continental; it's actually going in my 2013 focus this looks like it's gonna be fun but a tight ass fit with the cold airs
You couldn't keep up at all. Let me ask you this why didn't you attempt to pass because there's no way in hell you ever could have even if you started side by side
@@terryjohnson3739 actually I do I do have something that will roast your ass into the next generation buddy. And that next generation is electrical. However I won't go into silly contest I just find it ironic that you were trying to troll somebody who was clearly Superior than you by the way your truck is probably lighter than that car. You're a loser in more ways than one you're just trying to speed up your way to the loser line because that's where Tesla's going to put you after you spend all that money and all that time.
Yeah all this dipshits running their mouth obviously haven't driven a 2.7... ole boy is just playing around anyways... Not like he made a video to act like he's claiming the truck is gonna outrun a car at top end... 🤦🤦🤦🤦 Dumbasses... Go troll somewhere else
You’re stupid😂😂. I have a 2.7 and it’s limited to 105. He can only get to 120 bc of his tune and tires and he took the governor out. It’ll keep up with a v8 almost anything until 105, it has more aero drag, yes, but more importantly the f150 weights 1500 more pounds
The turbos was brought from 5star. And the truck is still running strong actually last 10k been straight e85 behind them turbos doing 0-60 in 4.6 sec with a 12sec 1/4 mile lmao but now currently building a 08 cummins that's already a beast in less then 2months lol
Thats funny. A 2.7 Ecoboost will pull steeper grades in top gear at 60mph and never need a downshift while the Silverados and Rams downshift at a hint of grade. Clearly you are talking out your ass and know nothing about this little engine and how hard it has to work. This little engine propels my 4wd Supercrew with 215,xxx miles from zero to sixty in a dragy confirmed 3.98 seconds and the quarter mile in 12.46 on e50. 12.69 on e30 and a 12.95 on 91. Tows, hauls and has been to hell and back...twice.
1/4 mile race the truck would win. Top speed it’s a no brainer a car would go faster. Heck most cars will do at least 130 mph with a 4 banger. Aerodynamics is a real thing you know.
Looked to me...like that Charger started "taking" you, when he put the pedal to the floor. You can easily hear his exhaust, when he got on it & walked right away from you.
I should hope so. It's a monster engine vs a small v6. Which let's face it Every hellcat and 392 only have the engine going for itself. Afford Festiva handles better than those things
@@mark9ohio Maybe not right behind but I don't know why you took what I said so literally when we can all see the video. For a full sized truck it's fast. Oh wait were being very literal here, this ford f150 is quick in a straight line up until 120 miles per hour. Is that good enough for you?
Thanks man! It's way faster now now I'm pushing 550hp to the tires with big turbos and fuel corn feul. The rattling was the road Its really bumpy around that turn when you take it tight by the line
@@NOLAItsNotOva thats funny now over 100k with not one problem and now putting more down to the tires. If you new anything if somethings built correctly it will last if not yes engine is shit but when you pay over a grand just for good tuning you get good results.🤙😁
@@terryjohnson3739 It hasn't been 100k miles tuned with 500 hp. Its a matter of time. And just a tune doesnt help longevity of the motor. It helps it be as efficient as possible and allows it to produce maximum allowed power. Keep running it hard like that and see what happens
@@NOLAItsNotOva yea im at 108k and a good tuner will make power and not push its limits stage3 turbos and being full e85 im dialed back at 500hp and do your research the 2.7s are built stock with graphite block and forged rods I know someone putting over 600ho down running low 11s. Your still stuck in tge 80s thinking 300hp is fast and don't know sheeit!🤣👌
