was able to see BC 2X....with Stu at Cambridge Corn Exchange then once in Austin TX with Mike Peters.....awesome, best shows I've ever seen live...RIP Stu
Always surprised at what moves people, musically. Big Country, to me, have always been there, have always meant something, but it has passed others by or has not spoken to them in the way it has to me.
I'm pretty sure Adamson's "In a Big Country" is his addressing a depressed young person and discouraging (iroically) his or her suicide. It's not about a has been's fight to survive cancer.
People saluting this guy and this video reminds me of a song I wrote about ten years ago: "Somewhere on the road to nowhere, somewhere on the interstate. Someone will point at nothing. And someone will say "that's great!".
I have loved The Alarm and Big Country since the 80s. I was so thankful to get to see Mike front Big Country back in 2013 and meet him as well. What a class act, inspiration and fighter he is! ❤
the words "Stay Alive" set to music would indeed be very inspiring. Check out the Bachman Turner Overdrive song called "Stay Alive" featuring none other than Little Richard.
beautiful soul and beautiful story. i was never the biggest fan of his work growing up - eye was staunch big country during the alarm's escalation - but this brought a tear to my eye. he kept bc going and is now making music that sounds as fresh and energetic as '80's U2. stay alive. rip stu-pot.
I wont say the title is clickbait, but it sure the sham is BS!! No disrespect to Mike and the Alarm, but all the disrespect to the nitwit video producers.
As a teenager I would go and see Big Country at the Glasgow Barrowlands and then the next month go and see the Alarm, I loved both bands so when Mike fronted Big Country that was really special for me, I loved it ❤
Mike is a great Celtic Christian . And is a great example of our way if following the High King of Heaven . Jesus Christ . The united Celtic Anthem In a Big Country .
Awe this made me so emotional this morning. No one sees the personal vulnerability sides to ppl in a band/film etc. but this film has shown all of that. A great film, a film of struggle’s strength and winning at life. Love from Anglesey ❤
Fantastic video. Was Into Big Country first, loved the Alarm shortly afterwards. Scottish Welsh Celtic cousins. ( From an almost 60 yr old who had to leave his place of birth because there was no f'cking work) FTWFL.- Fuck the whole Fucking lot. 😊
